  1. Im_Stock2, I feel dumber just thinking about that guy.
  2. Bittersweet reading these comments.
  3. Yup, happy to know you guys, even Luap.
  4. PS, somebody want to tell me what the fuck discord is? And why some of you want to do that?
  5. …to start one last thread on CR. This has been a fun ride for me. I didn’t get involved until 2007, but I quickly started having fun. I’ve met so many people, some of which will be lifelong friends. I was working crappy mechanic jobs changing oil and busting tires, now I’m a GM Master Technician working at a dealership. I still have the same Camaro but back then it was a cam only mild street car, and last year it made 1000rwhp on Dyno Brian’s dyno. I’ve had a few other toys along the way and did some stuff I may never had tried. It was because of CR that I knew about Cars&Coffee, and started going there when there was probably a dozen people who showed up regularly. Then Doc decided to create a hangout in the winter, and that was fun too. Not to mention private track rentals that I never knew I needed. The last 15 years have been great for me, and gave me many things to get out and do. It’s sad for me to see a big part of my life come to an end. I’m grateful for everyone involved and very glad to have been a part of it, thank you.
  6. All good things must come to an end. Columbus Racing has introduced me to some cool people who I’ve had and will continue to have fun with. Sad to see the forum end, but the writing has been on the wall for awhile. Thanks.
  7. That sucks. Didn’t know him personally, but I’m sure he was a good dude. Covid sucks, crazy how different it effects people. Made me feel crappy for a few days but put my wife in the hospital for a week.
  8. My Camaro went 10.17 at 143 in 2021. Looking to knock a few tenths off in 2022. Had a new T56 Magnum built with some billet parts, changing the clutch hydraulics, and going with a triple disk clutch. Hopefully this all makes the car easier to drive and stronger. I signed it up for Midwest Drag Week in the H-pattern class, not that I stand much chance on winning but I want to participate in one of these drag and drive events. Also planning on at least a couple Street Car Takeover events this year, US131 in June, Indy in July, and Edgewater in August. If I can do all that with it I’ll be happy. My Corvette will continue to be my nice weather daily as I resist the temptation to mod it. My Silverado will continue to be my not the Corvette daily, and it’s modded right about where I want it anyway, cammed, headers, new trans, and everything mechanical is fixed on it.
  9. Sad that I won’t have random BBQ days at work anymore, but happy that you’ll be 15 minutes from my house so I will just get to have it whenever.
  10. Maybe we he right way to mount this in a permanent situation is to use some 1/4” x 1” plate to bolt into the studs, and with two of these flat against the wall, weld some stand offs to clamp around the frame. That’s how I’d do it. Wouldn’t take much to fabricate with a little welding and paint.
  11. I honestly don’t remember the terms for that one, it was probably 120k, but there are many that are 10 year 150k for certain things. My daughter’s Cobalt has a lifetime fuel pump module, so there are even some that go on forever. Nobody makes a big announcement about it but it never hurts to look into common issues.
  12. Is this a 1.4l Cruise? Many of these have extended warranties on them and could be free through the dealer.
  13. Best part of this forum for me was from about 2008-2015 when we had some involvement, track days, and people meeting up with their cars. I’ve made a few good friends and met plenty of good people because of this forum, sucks that alot of them aren’t very involved anymore.
  14. It happens more then you might think. I probably replace one or two a year at the dealer. The carbon top option on a C7 is stupid expensive, that poor guy had almost $3k in that mistake.
  15. I don’t know anyone who wants to mess with that stuff. I certainly don’t. You can try Corvette Care.
  16. This is stupid. Stop complaining about the cost of gas and drive the Avalanche until you get the car you want. If she doesn’t like it drive her car, tell her that her choices are you drive the truck or her car until your new one comes in. If you guys can’t deal with that it’s probably time for marriage counseling.
  17. Appreciate the input. Found a place not too far for $100 a month and just went with it. Few places I called yesterday and today either had nothing or wanted $160 or more a month. Is what it is I guess, hopefully I can move out of the city in the next few years now that my daughter is out of school.
  18. Anyone have any good leads on trailer storage? I bought an open trailer and would really like to find a place to put it other then it taking up half my driveway. Most storage places want over $100 for outdoor parking, so before I suck it up and pay that I figured I’d ask. It’s 24’ long overall. Closer to Blacklick the better.
  19. Never seen a 5 speed ZR2, let alone a 2wd. That’s kinda neat. I miss seeing S-series trucks.
  20. It’s my opinion that running E15 is similar to putting a bottle of fuel system cleaner in the tank. Does it make a difference? In most cars not really. 5% more ethanol isn’t going to throw off fueling much at all, and it wouldn’t make any major difference in economy. The typical driver is in stop and go traffic and not making true back to back fuel economy comparisons to prove the small percentage of worse economy. Personally I like ethanol, it’s renewable, it’s clean, and it cleans my fuel system. I wouldn’t have any issues running this. That said I wouldn’t run it in something old, but by old I mean 25-30 years old or older, and not in small engines and lawn equipment.
  21. 100% accurate. GM stopped selling fleet vehicle at the end of last year, they killed most incentives this spring, and recently stopped any employee pricing. I know other manufacturers have done similar, and with severely depleted inventory everywhere I would expect this market to stay inflated until things catch up, and then it will crash. Meanwhile people are spending more money fixing what they have, and I’m having one of my best years working on cars, which is further exaggerated by the complete lack of technicians in the field.
  22. Good. That’s all I signed in for, see you fuckers at the track.
