  1. So, my wife is considering getting into riding. Currently the courses are all showing as full at the polaris in Middleburg until October. I mentioned the stand by policy but, not sure if it is worth her taking the time to simply be turned away. Does anybody know if it is worth trying to get into a class from standby or should she just wait until October??
  2. Thanks for the advice, these guys actually got me a killer rate.
  3. I have a perfect driving record. When I got the insurance I had one accident that was almost three years old which affected my rate. I live on the west side of Cleveland and I don't think anyone is interested in my Triumph
  4. Right now I am paying over $1k a year for one bike and it is a cafe bike, hence why I am looking at other carriers
  5. So, I currently have my bike covered from State Farm. I just ran a quote through Geicko and found that the coverage from them was less than half the cost of what I am paying now. I asked a few of my friends and they had some pretty bad things to say about Geicko. But, I wanted to survey the board and see who you guys would recommend and why.
  6. This is correct. I took the Motorcycle Ohio course last fall and I have to say that it is both easier than what I have read about the MSF (No Box) but, they do work hard at teaching you to think about being in traffic. I would love to take an advanced course as well but, the only one in my area was full months ahead of the start date. I hope they get more setup soon. In the meantime I am sticking to researching riding techniques and continuing to practice and not just take the same roads everyday. I do think that just requiring that everyone take motorcycle Ohio in order to get your initial endorsement (no matter how much practice you already have) and requiring that anyone looking get back to riding take a refresher course would be a good starting point.

Thanks for letting me know. Guess I will just enjoy a quiet ride just me and the road

Anybody going to be riding closer to the Cleveland Area? Ravenna is a little far for me.
  9. That is why I commute. Layer up head off and take the long way home when no one is looking.
  10. Welcome, nice bike. I like the house. Just add a drawbridge and a moat.
  11. At least next week looks to have some nice weather
  12. Depending on when I would try to go to that one. Sadly I couldn't stay for dinner tonight but, enjoyed getting to meet some of you
  13. I agree that the sales on this thing are likely to be less than Yamaha would like. It seems like a weird cross between the Can-Am and a traditional bike. I saw this for the first time at the motorcycle show in Jan and just stared at it confusingly wondering what the hell is that.
  14. If you say so. I have never met him myself
  15. What a miserable reward for helping out a friend.
  16. I am fine having a beer with dinner and driving a car. But, having a beer and jumping on a bike is not in the gameplan. Thankfully the weather has pushed off enough that I rode the Thruxton to work this morning. I am going to stop by on my way home and look forward to meeting any of you guys that may be there.
  17. Weather forecasters up here are wrong so often that you can't trust the forecast for more than 24 hours.
  18. Two questions is everyone planning to ride (weather looks marginal for riding). Also, if by any chance anyone is going to be there early I would love to meet and grab a quick drink. I can't stay for dinner but, I work about a mile from the restaurant so I thought I could head over briefly for a quick drink and meet some of you guys.
  19. I recently bought a 20s evo and I have to say that once I got the speakers mounted up exactly where I wanted them I love it. I have had a conversation at 70 mph and the person on the other end had no idea that I was even on a ride. I do still have to get used to work the controls. Also, it is hard to find the phone button with thick winter gloves on but, manageable with practice I'm sure. Has anyone used the Sena remote that hooks to your grips? I have thought about it but, would hate to waste my money not too mention giving up space on the grips.
  20. I couldn't resist yesterday either. Took the bike to work and couldn't help but, wish that I had a longer commute. Needless to say I took the looong way home.
  21. Got the Windscreen finally installed. Washed and polished up the bike love how she shines. Felt bad having to leave her in the garage, hoping to ride her to work in the morning

    2019 Gap Trip.

Don't talk about the desert are you trying to make me homesick
  23. Thanks for the advice. I haven't planned on a group ride. Although I wouldn't mind meeting some people to ride with in smaller groups say 2 or 3
  24. I joined a gym to increase my workout days to 4 a week when I can. I also started tracking my calories on my fitbit, amazing how many calories are on some foods Started at 238 down to 230
