You learn from experience. Start off with a smaller project and work your way up.

I have an 87 Vette with 50k miles doing the same thing. Where is this 9th injector and the sensor located?Originally posted by Assured Risk:The problem is now fixed.
Fuel pressure was and still is fine. Injectors do not leak.
Apparently there is a 9th injector on the engine. It is supposed to only open when the engine is cold.
The sensor for it had gone bad.

I went to Vintage Days this past weekend, it was a blast.

Does anyone have a hook up on straighten some steel rims? I have a few Chevy steel rims that are a few wheel weights to get in balance. I remember there was a place Wheel medic, or something like that. I used this place to straigten an aluminum rim on my wife's Volvo and paid $100 for the work. I would think steel rims should be a lot cheaper to straighten(balance).

Too short of notice, the summer time is full of activities. I would be interested if I know at least a week in advance when this is happening.

What is wrong with the engine in it now? If it is the correct/original, you will want to keep or rebuild it. As far as getting running, any vintage (before 85/86 small block, or a 70's will be better) will do. I would try to repair the existing engine though. If you swap engines, it should be a fairly easy swap. You will need to reuse the water pump(I believe this is the short type of water pump) and pulleys to keep things lined up. If any questions, give me a pm, I do vette repairs and restoration work. All else fails, I offer to buy the vette.Originally posted by Pony Pimpstress:A friend of a friend has a '62 vette that he is trying to get to run. Aparently the engine that is in the car now is junk. He wants a "cheap" fix. Is there a motor that you can swap fairly easily or lower cost that just getting a crate motor. Or can you find an motor to replace the one that he has in there now?
Thanks for the help in advance!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the situation, the bike can be replaced.

Sounds excellent. 3 Phase stuff is so cheap compared to single phase(CNC, welders, industrial equipment, etc). My dad's shop has a set up similar to what you have done.
-
I saw this, and I will be there with $$$. I doubt I will find any deals though. I am almost ready to sell the 74.

Looks excellent, and I bet it goes...

Yoke's Autobody in Powell(in the same building as Auto Assets). Paul is a friend of the family. He works on all types and does excellent work. You will notice he does a lot of Porsches and other high end cars.

I will buy one once they hit rock bottom and start to appreciate and then re-sale. That means I will wait 15 years..

Scott / Sean,
Thanks for asking, but my mustang is not for sale. smile.gif

I have enough cars and enough projects, but this was too good to pass.Originally posted by GRN96WS6:Don't you have enough cars yet Rick?
Looks nice but I'm not much of a fan of that style of vette.

350, its not the L-82 though...Originally posted by Nitrousbird:What motor does it have in it??
Looks pretty clean from the pics; sweet car.

I just picked up a 74 Corvette. It has 79,000 miles and is matching numbers, 4 speed, power steering with air. Here is a picture on the trailer, before I start to clean it up. By way, if anyone is interested in the Cragar wheels which are in excellent condition, make me an offer. I believe the wheels are 15x8's.

Nice, I would like to see in person whenever the time permits. I am a fan of the Fieros. My dad has a 87 GT. I have seen a 87-88 Silver Fiero on the north outerbelt that has v8.

That color was around in 92. They had one next to the Mustang that I bought.
