  1. I'm way more likely to use discord than another app, i'm in!
  2. I seem to remember some story about Not Brian getting feces on his GF's loofa? Dang. I need to update my profile and sig. I don't even have that car anymore. I also need to add a 2016 Honda Odyssey to the vehicle list. lol
  3. I heard Jump n Jive will dance for a nominal fee too.
  4. Happy birthday duder!
  5. Well, the details of the Verizon unlimited plans have reared their ugly head. Our unlimited plan kicked in a few days ago, so we started streaming a series on amazon prime (still on low quality, not HD). Looked at my data consumption and it was at 3.5GB. Even though its unlimited you can still check how much you've used. Most of that data was streaming, without a doubt. So Verizon is advertising unlimited Streaming in HD! Which would mean the data does not count towards your data consumption. Wrong, the only unmetered data is if you watch stuff on their garbage go90 app which does nothing for me. I need it on my TV through my verizon home router. So you can hit your cap pretty quick and then be at the whim of their throttling. Which VZW continued to try to correct me that its not throttling its 'priority access' BS, its throttling. Just an FYI for folks. EDIT: Previously I was told that the free streaming was only if the video was done through 'the app'. For example if watching netflix, on a web browser it would count as browsing. But if going through an APP then it would recognize it as video streaming and not count the data. BTW this was from a VZW customer service rep.
  6. Serious question does the foam and or pressure make a difference? I have an electric one I used to blast mud off the ATV but for car purposes nothing is as good as the ol' microfiber towel. I was my cars very often so if this foam stuff makes a difference i'd be all about it.
  7. This Verizon Unlimited is a BIG DEAL for us. We live out in a rural area where there is no internet provider. To make things worse my wife works from home and does VOIP. Most months we were spending $300+ on internets. We had excede satellite, and they were good until their equipment started goofing up and wanted to charge me to fix it. I told them to push a Rope. At that time Verizon had recently changed their plans and it was cheaper to get them to provide our home internet. Its a nightmare having counted data for home services. People come over and you have to deny them access, because MOST folks don't realize they have automatic settings to do a bunch of data hogging activity, as soon as they get on wifi. We've lost a lot of data that way so we just deny people access all together. Furthermore we still have netflix but only use the DVD option. Verizon is the only carrier with reliable internet where we are. Even though I realize there is a 22GB limit on 4G data, even 3G should be plenty for most The other part of this is that Video streaming does not count towards your data consumption. Which is a huge deal. Since now we can netflix. 4 lines plus our home modem at this rate is a steal. 6 months ago we were paying $450 a month for internet and phones. This is a big deal for rural areas where verizon does have the better network and so many people have been left disconnected. i'll take my 5 acres, not seeing neighbors and having unlimited internet.
  8. The OP asked for feedback, I thought his feedback was very constructive. Too often when you ask for feedback folks are too scared to give it. I think he was objective and tactful. After all photography is art, and is overall subjective. Back to the subject, what caught my eye on the skyline picture is the background looks so monochrome that I thought you had post processed out all color in the background, but its just the setting. I too struggle with cropping and how tight to get in on a car. I usually like BIG pictures with BIG scenes. For the skyline pic I would have liked test out bringing the skyline a bit forward, away from the wall. It would have also made it a bigger part of the photo while keeping the same background. Also, another tip I saw somewhere that was pretty neat for me is to try to get low from afar. Use a 100-200mm lens and get far away if you can. It really bring the lines of the car together.
  9. I guess I'll get called captain planet for this. Its unfortunate folks feel the need to attempt to be clever/funny responding to show how cool they are by not caring where they dump their coolant. Its all fun and games until sometime later in the distant future we find out how bad the stuff really is and how incapable our water cleaning/testing methods really are. As stated near the top of the thread most city public waste locations will take it. I've struggled with this in the past as getting rid of oil is so easy but coolant was so difficult. Then dealing with trying to get to the places while they are open is a struggle, as they seem to be open during bank hours. Oh well in the end I guess I just personally feel better about it and have nothing witty to say on an internet forum to fit in with my peers.
  10. light painting is tough, to get to look right. Not sure i've found a good way tomake it look right myself. I will say I did pick up some LED light panels that are dim-able, so I can adjust the constant light output to the surroundings.
  11. Thanks all very happy to be able to share them with you! Multiple ways. - Zoom in on live view, on your screen (not with the lens), find a star and manual focus on it. The biggest challenge is when you zoom in this far the screen get grainy so its could be hard to distinguish a star from noise. - Bring a really bright light, illuminate the subject, focus. - IF you're light isn't bright enough set it ON the subject pointing back towards you, focus on it, then retrieve it. Its so good! I may end up getting a star tracker and trying my luck at the whole time lapse thing. Yes did a focus like that. I do have a very cool idea but I need to find someone with a convertible...... http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/Focus%20RS%20Star%20Trail%20-%20Front%20-%20web.jpg
  12. It sucks. We also have to give everyone 50 dollar gift card, we're lucky we usually get a gift card from the same place in return (amazon). Then there is the person that tried to be thoughtful and we're stuck with this reminder of how bad gifts can be. I don't enjoy it at all. I do still give gifts but it has to be something unique or something I made that I know they will like. I don't just sit there and try to think of something to force and be like 'i think they like that'.
  13. Hello All, been a while since I posted an update on here. Firstly, some of you may remember my photo of the old covered bridge in Bridgeton, IN. I submitted that for an international nighscape competition and got 2nd place for the 'in-town' category. This was announced mid-November but I am still super stoked about it. The youtube video below shows winners and honorable mentions. Well worth the watch. My photo comes on at 1:36. But the timelapses are legit. Thinking I may have to try my luck at that stuff. Very cool to compete against such awesome photographers and impressive places around the planet. This is a firetower near by. I was doing a star trail and some kids showed up in the middle of the night to climb the tower. I thought my shot was ruined but kept shooting. Well they climbed the tower with their phone light on and painted it...perfectly. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Hickory%20Ridge%20Star%20Trail%20-%20web.jpg This is Poudre Canyon near Ft. Collins, CO. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/DSC_2712%20Poudre%20Canyon%20Drive%208x10%20Darken%20-%20web.jpg Another shot, this one a star trail of Poudre Canyon. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/DSC_2723%20Star%20Trail%20-%20web.jpg This shot isn't a night shot but one of my favorites, personally. My dad an I were at Rockhouse early morning to watch the sunrise. I got this portrait of him, and used selective color. Being my dad does photography also, he's very rarely in photos. I think this will be a cool time we spent together an got a great picture I can remember him by some day when he's not around. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Rockhouse%20Portrait%20-%20Raul%205x7%20BW%20Accent%20-%20web.jpg

  16. yeah people need more info, what does the shop do? specialize? your last name? I used fiverr.com to create my photography logo. If you go with them make sure you look to see the designer knows english and has unlimited revisions. So you can get it right.
  17. Wease hit it on the head. If you are the type to sit at a resort, Hawaii is simply not worth it. The Caribbean is closer, cheaper, etc. We just went about a year ago as our honeymoon. We totally laid into the hype, did 2 weeks there. Big Island And Oahu just didn't sound good to us we heard they were busy, crowded and had big cities. The only exception was Pearl Harbor. We looked at taking a day trip over for just that but it simply was not worth it, flights were going to be $500 on top of missing a whole day and other expenses. We did Kauai, where its a more relaxed atmosphere. After about a week we felt ready to go. This is the island you want to do your helicopter tour on. There is much of it which is just not passable, even the road around the island doesn't go all the way because the terrain is that difficult. This Helicopter ride was hands down one of the best things I've ever done, its expensive, and it was even more expensive for me since I had to buy two seats as I was over the 250 lb limit.....and it was still worth it. Do doors off. There are tons of cool places to see, I really liked the na'pali coast. Things I wished I did better. - We rented a POS car, there are tons of offroad hunter trails in Waimea Canyon area, wish we would have got a Jeep. - Hiking in the winter is sloppy, we'd go in the summer and hike more. - I'd snorkel more. There are great places you can just snorkel right off the beach. The second week we went to Maui. Maui was fun. Its a much bigger Island, we stayed near Lahaina (NW side). But after having stayed there a week we probably would have stayed somewhere a bit more central (like Kihei). We ended up doing a lot of stuff on the East half of the island which meant we spent a lot of time driving. The East side has Road To hana, which was just ok IMO, but I wish we would have spent some more time at the Black Sand beach near Hana. For Maui we sprung for the jeep, but there wasn't really any easy to access 'trails' to get on. The only trail was the road around Maui once you pass Hana, if you want to close the loop it turns into a dirt road. You read all kinds of people that are like 'ermagherd its so dangerous'. There was only one turn that had a drop and it had a cement barrier to keep you in. There were blind turns but if you take your time and honk, no problem. Plenty of people finishing the road in a mustang if you take your time. Its basically a gravel road. Both my wife and I actually enjoyed the dirt section and southern paved section as much if not more than 'road to hana' its a different landscape (arid), but very peaceful. The whale watching in the winter was very good. We may have gotten lucky but there were tons of whales the day we went. I don't get the draw to riding bikes down from Halaekala. Its freaking cold. There are millions of tourists coming down from the sunrise which are inpatient and don't know the road. Honking, passing illegally etc. Then there are tons of ppl that haven't been on a bike in 30 yrs learning on this hill again. Its a disaster. I love to ride my bike but this didn't seem enjoyable at all. We rented a condo, which was best IMO. We could make breakfast and prepare for the day if we were going to hike (make lunch) etc. Food is very expensive (though Iceland was worse). If you have to rent a car prices are insane (granted we went in high season). We ended up doing priceline 'name your price' to get a reasonable price. To be honest Hawaii was nice but not sure I'd go again. But you just have to see it for yourself. We went to Utah for national parks just 4 months later and my wife actually said it was better than Hawaii (which is good, much cheaper for me!) IF you want to blue book that everyone uses for either Kauai or Maui just let me know, you can have mine for free if you pay the shipping. I also have my trip spreadsheet still with my highlights and references to the pages in the book. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/DSC_8658%20edited-FM.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Vacations/Hawaii/DSC_8687.jpg

Pay for a tour with the vatican, you will learn so much more. Its expensive but worth it. IF you didn't know the vatican, st. peters, sistine chapel are in the same place. Also not mentioned yet. I liked climbing up to the top of the cupola at St. Peters. For ANY item you can buy tickets in advance, even if there is a slight fee, its worth it. When we went to the Colosseum there was a 4 HOUR wait (this was not at peak season, it was Feb.). We walked in like bosses.
  21. Agreed. OSU is in a decent spot now. Would be better if we were undefeated, but oh well. U of M stays undefeated and we beat them in a few weeks, we're in. Looking at next week. USC beats Washington. I would love to see Bama, OSU, Louisville, and Washington in the playoff. Though I don't see Clemson....clemsoning.
  22. We just did a trip, stayed with https://www.buffalolodgingcompany.com/ We stayed at the 'Woods Edge Cabin'. Really nice cabin, would def rent with them again.
  23. I had a client/friend approach me about taking photos for his motorized toys this last weekend. I thought it would be a good idea to combine my astrophotography work with some seriously cool machines. Since I don't have a motocycle endorsement I had to take one for the team and drive the RS . Awesome car! The eye candy shown below is a brand new Focus RS and a 2014 Erik Buel Racing 1190RX. Enjoy! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/EBR%201190%20-%202%20PS%208x10%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/DSC_6580%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/Focus%20RS%20Rear%20ST%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/Focus%20RS%20Star%20Trail%20-%20Front%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/DSC_6712%20-%20web.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Misc%20Car%20Photography/DSC_2048%20-%20web.jpg
