  1. Very well said. There are a lot of steps and very true that there's no need for personal information to be handed over to the gov't. It's none of their business if someone owns a firearm and thankfully now none of their business if people are carrying them. Loads of unwarranted burdens and red tape and big brother tactics.
  2. Agree. The 2A is ours and we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to carry a firearm in a vehicle even for simple things like trips to the range or a friends house to go shooting, etc.
  3. One of three that get flown. Both brothers, my father and several uncles all served our country and were proud to do so.
  4. Kinda new to the group and glad to be here. Many thanks to Ben and others who ported over the CR Forums. Hopefully the fun and contacts continue. I was a member there from 2006 to it's close but been in contact with many from the forum well before that dating back to the mid to late 90's. I've contacted Ben about possible sponsorship here as I did there. My side hobby and gig to help my kids learn to connect and run things is a detailing service. Started years ago with my son, who has since moved on to college, but in 2022 my daughter stepped in and as she turns 16 now is helping out and learning the ropes! Proud Papa checking in here. I'll provide more information once sponsorship is set up but until then, here are our personal vehicles. Sons in college so nothing fast fun or expensive as priorties shift but they are what we have in the stable. Hit me up with any questions or needs from interior steam extraction to ceramic coatings. Happy to help. My Daughter has a 2010 CR-V with just under 70k miles My Son rocks a reliable 2014 Corolla with 98k miles Soccer mom is in a 2018 CX-5 with 53k miles Dad is sporting a 2019 Accord Touring 2.0 that just broke 28k miles -tim
  5. Looks awesome. Great balance of performance, EV life and price.
  6. There's definitely going to be a little rock in pit of my stomach once it shuts off and I get the no site found 401 error
  7. Perhaps my last post on CR Thanks for all the good times!
  8. Well said. I didn't join the forum until 2006 and since have met hundreds of people from this forum personally, including most here in this thread, and can honestly say nearly every single one has been super cool and fun to banter with online and in person. It will be missed. I was late to the FB Crowd too but even that isn't the same. It is good to have though. Been a great ride, pun intended, and let's hope to keep in touch as we've all some good times for sure. Hopefully those good times will continue at CC&C too.
  9. The end of an era. Kinda like moving away from Listserv back in the day.... Chris, will sponsorships, etc. for vendors still be available and expected? I fully support kicking in some money to keep things rolling there. Just let me know.
  10. Sad news indeed. Loved his F-Body and remember it from my days of Pontiac Love.
  11. You still like to weave in your own opinions and BS. You see Kerry, it's not hard to see you do that with consistency with everyone. You are a contrarian at heart which is why you enjoy doing what you do. If you want to go around thinking people who are fat aren't unhealthy and aren't impacting their own chances of severe illness or death from Covid and that it's all simply a DNA thing then you're the one taking a gamble on falsities. Hey, being an outlier is part of the luck I mentioned above right?
  12. I haven't followed every post but I don't see it being made binary dead vs alive. If it were, the alive part would be like 99.5+ %. I see most people here realizing the grey area is where we are, have been and will be for quite a while. Haven't seen any indications we're about to eliminate a Corona Virus from the earth so let's no act like we're on tract to do that. It can be the goal but let's not place a false goal post in place only to move it yet again. We're already in year 3 of 2 weeks to flatten the curve. In terms of side effects, the longer term things are not new. Today's "long hualers has been around and known as “post-viral syndrome,” since the days of the Spanish Flu. It's not new or unique to covid. viral pneumonia and TB have similar after effects. Chronic disease present long term serious lingering issues too. I dont' see people dismissing any of them, just learning to live with the risks and no longer living in fear. Meh, reasons are like opinions and assholes, we all have them. Can't worry about who does what or why. Again, had the powers that be on all sides been upfront, clear transparent and HONEST they might have built up some solid credibility and trust and not driven so many to the extremes. Mandates, lies and bullshit spread far and wide isn't helping so they need to stop that crap. It's not about being physically fit, it's about overall being healthy. There are a lot of physically fit people who aren't healthy. Leading chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, stroke, chronic pulmonary disease, and diabetes are among the top ones, and are driven mainly by lifestyle and the top two of those kill more in one year in the US than covid has in to date. Some believe genetics plays a role in loading the gun but what we eat, expose ourselves and bodies to tends to pull the trigger. It's past-time for people to get healthy and as I've noted, if they choose not to then, that's on them. Yep, again, no direct line and never will be. Kids die of cancer and healthy athletes have their hearts fail too. Not everything is clear-cut or binary as you note. Risks, odds, chances and luck fill our lives. We're just at a point after 2+ years that many of us are moving with our lives. Life is short as it is and I'm personally not going to waste any more of my life in fear. Good luck. We're not going to slow the spread and 2 years is proving that. Many would argue we're doing more harm than good too. We have therapeutics, vaxes and plenty to run with to help. Time to leverage them and learn to live with our newly introduced risk. Thanks China. I agree that the burden on hospitals can be bad. Let's work to ensure there are no unnecessary ones being put on them but then we've seen some mandates do just that......all in the name of science right? Best thing every single person can do is to be smart, get healthy and heal the divide. Continuing to argue and threaten isn't going to do that nor build trust in anyone that calls themselves a leader.
  13. My plans are to hopefully get out and DRIVE! Company "said" January 18th will mark the day but with the state of the world and being California based, I may just have another low mile year. Let's hope not!
  14. Case in Franklin County (Columbus) are up way more than that. Most of the summer was fine. August we ended with just over 322 cases per day. September was a blip up to 540 per then October a drop of about 41% to 306 per day. From there it's been climbing. Up 30% in Nov to 400 per day and December a whopping 190% over Nov. to over 1,100 cases per day. That said, the number of people hospitalized has had the opposite. It's dropped 3 months in a row from and the rate of hospitalizations per-case has also dropped. (Sept-Oct were flat at about 150, Nov 135 and December only 119 in all of Franklin County. In fact, December marks a record low at only .3% of cases resulting in a hospitalization (again, a Franklin County Stat) although the entire state finished Dec. at 2.4%, also a record low for Ohio. So they say and while I believe them, the ODH needs to start publishing vax status on their .csv file released daily. They have told me they aren't going to but won't say why. Ugh. That doesn't speak to transparency or trust. That aside, the largest groups impacted grow based on age. Both in terms of hospitalizations and most clearly deaths. Great news is the vaxes clearly show effectiveness in the 70-79 and 80+ groups. Their rate of death per cases early in 2020 was upwards of 50%. Then it made a crash to low double digits this year and in December it's mid 5% or so. Lots of reasons involved but no doubt the vax too. The elderly still make up 75-82% of all deaths though. Not surprise and nothing new here. Meh....point still stands, if you're overweight, it's on that individual and they are at greater risk and the vaxes aren't as effective on them. Society as a whole needs to get in shape. I'll argue it's more the unhealthy having a negative impact on the systems today than the unvaxed or non mask wearing, etc. 3:1 margins in fact.
  15. Has a lot to do with health and underlying conditions. Those that are overweight are generally less healthy to begin with and since a large swath of our society is, we're going to continue to see them get hit. Vaxes aren't as effective on them either. Time to move on. It's going to be a shame if 2022 is another year of shit show events.
  16. Now let's just sit around and see how long it takes for the sealed documents protecting so many get leaked. :lolguy:
  17. I can fix the paint, but the mis-aligned panels.....that's the part that kills me. This one wasn't horrible but it does need a few adjustments. Driver side from bumper clips are not fully seated but that could be due to the fact that Tesla had to replace the entire nose due to damage when shipping it. The passenger door is out about 1/8th to 3/16th's of an inch. No wind noise but it's noticeable. the driver side rear tail lamp is rubbing the rear bumper too. Squeaks whenever it's touched and will surely wear down the paint if not addressed. Lastly, the window trim moldings are not aligned very well either. Every panel is off just about 1/8th or so too. Crazy. It's funny what I see getting intimate with these cars like I do. The QC and assembly crew must have all failed out of finished carpentry.
  18. As I wind down the 2021 Detailing season I couldn't have asked for a cooler car to do it with. This new 2021 Model Y Performance came to me as a referral from my friend Brian, a fellow Columbus Racing Member, who had his vehicle done a few years back. The owner Dennis picked up the beauty about 2 weeks ago after waiting 3 months and a strong detail and paint protection film (PPF) were both high on his list of first modifications. =AZWerfokS2q_rfQPXOhmJzZSqgM6R4XnvF1afZIfmnCFf7FEkLwb9mb8NcgaaFSt2uO0elbKg2f__seUK-9ER0f-2iY0XCbdH6AnFDVfszr9hDQYyNBLLB7sUA96WjZABOs&__tn__=-]K-R"]Julius Poa (my PPF Expert) is are up next in just a week or so to ensure this rides stays perfect. Unfortunately, Tesla isn't known for fit and finish and the paint usually does come in from the factory with a number of blemishes and this one was no exception. (see a few pics I've included here) The good news is even the scratches, water spots and misc marring on the paint and trim were easy enough to resolve. Here my new Vehicle Paint Preservation package involved a FULL 100% correction and ceramic coatings over the paint, trim, glass, and wheels. Now she looks as good finish-wise as one would expect from a car of this price range and now the appearance matches the performance. I wish mother nature would have given me good lighting for outside pics. The driveway shots don't due it justice with no fluffy white clouds to show off the gloss and clarity of the finish. Welcome to Ohio right? Thanks for viewing.
  19. Sad. Back in the day a bunch of us would go on 2-3hr lunch breaks and take over the place. Now to see a giant vending machine of 2nd mortgages on wheels will taking Cbus one step closer to the movie Wall-E :dumb:
  20. So the Jeep is all completed and delivered. Such a great vehicle for a super couple. Neighbors of ours that are in the upper 60's. It's a 2006 model year purchased late summer 2005 finished in Flame Red Clearcoat over black cloth interior and has just over 42k miles on it. The story here is the vehicle was a 50th B-Day gift from her husband as she wanted to have some topless fun in the summertime and the ability to navigate around town with ease. It's all locally driven and impeccably maintained. She is adamant that she will never sell it thus wanted it cleaned up like new inside and out. Mission Accomplished! This was Basic Polish & Protect with a dual-layer ceramic coating for the painted surfaces. They also opted for the glass polish and coating, wheels to be coated and the roof to be cleaned and sealed too. Last on the exterior but really most important was the restoration of the greyed-out trim and then locking it all in with a trim-specific coating so it will stay as shown here, dark and luxurious like new. Thanks for viewing! I'm not gonna lie, I really dig this one. From the manual windows to the basic simplicity and the fact that it's so dang maneuverable. Would be a lot of fun for around town. Love that it's the 4.0l too. I did convince the owner to remove the front plate too. Now it looks so clean. It came out SUPER Clean and nice even underneath. Really helps that it's been a mall-crawler not a rock crawler. 90-95% paint corrected. Keep in mind, at this age, it's about paint preservation so there's no need to chase every random scratch. SO CLEAN and so nice looking. Never been a huge fan of Red on Jeeps but this one gave me The Buckeye Spirit. It was brought to me in good shape but in bad need of a strong clean up and trim restoration. The trim responded very nicely to the restoration. Here it is prior to the ceramic over top which also darkens it a bit more. The top was another area that needed a strong cleaning and was due for a refreshing sealant. 3 layers of water repellent and nourishing of the material done! Finally, the metal bumpers needed restored as well. Here too, the paint dries out and needs nourished. Putting the oils back in helps darken it up, repels moisture and brings them back to new. Once cured, they are then ceramic coated to lock in the efforts.
  21. I've waffled on those quite a bit. My brother in law has the SW version and keeps .410 loads in it. I don't recall a ton of spread though. Certainly not at the typical 20-25ft max that you're likely to see inside a home. Load perhaps matters, I'm not sure. His were pretty tight though. Certainly a good suggestion. Fun guns for sure.
  22. Either BaT, Doug DeMuro's Cars & Bids or even IIRC Hagerty has an online auction site. BaT is the standard for sure. It will likely bring good money if the right buyer is interested. It only takes one but IMO since I know nothing about the interest level people have in these cars, I really have no thoughts there. Spring would be the BEST time IMO though. Just get it cleaned up nicely and heck, me, Trish, or Brian Wagner can do the photos on either nice sunny day (best) or inside a well lit location. BaT offers a photog for a fee too but I know Brian does GREAT work so perhaps hit him up. It's really about having decent photos from a distance which always helps but truly upwards of 100-150 more of every.single.panel and detail, etc. Upload high-rez images and you're done. No one really ever messes with edits or "hiding" anything because that will easily crash the deal and ruin reputations. Add in a nice driving video or two, cold start, build paperwork and details there about the car and shop and buyers will be at ease with it all. Thanks for the call-out. Yes, no-doubt the car is clean and well cared for so really my clean and prep for sale package would be fine. I can bump it up a bit and do a basic polish & protect too. I did sell my Jeep there, and helped sell several others as well. Here are few of them. I'm also a member there and chime in on the work done because as a detailer people ping me for my thoughts having gone over these cars inch by inch so I put my comment to support them in there too. @Doc, happy to walk you through their process. BaT typically has a 3-6 week lag between you signing up to sell and it hitting the listing site. My 2001 Jeep: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2001-jeep-cherokee-26/ 280zx V8: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-53/ AMG Wagon: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2014-mercedes-benz-e63s-amg-wagon-11/ I also helped Mace here on CR clean up and sell his 77k mile M3 Convertible but IIRC it sold through Facebook. He did VERY well on this one as it looked like brand new inside and out. We did a basic polish & protect and interior detail here.
  23. My concern is for American Citizens first and foremost not refugees. I then step up a concern for those such as interpreters that supported us in the time we were there that had loyalty to us. I'm sorry but I have a very narrow interest in our citizens paying the price $ in all fashions that it costs us to continue to bring over HUGE numbers of refugees from anywhere. That numbers needs to be capped at some level.
