  1. Does anyone have any suggestions or contacts for people who do vinyl wrap. I want to get wood grain on my Buick wagon for shits and giggles
  2. If you want to donate to provide assistance. That would be amazing. I will be upfront and say that he is not able to budget his money yet. He doesn't have that skill yet. That's what I've been working with him, trying to teach him. His foster family has asked him to move out basically immediately. If you would like to do ate to help pay for the hotel (extended stay america which is his best option as he doesn't know basic life skills and the hotel is basically a mini apartment with everything included), you can send a venmo at @Cody-Seesholtz or cash app at $prd2bdf just include a note "for student" or something and I will make sure it goes directly to his expenses This would be temporary until he get settled in and start paying for himself
  3. A car has been located. I also am requesting any recommendations for the cheapest liability only auto insurance for him as the family has decided not to keep him on the insurance policy
  4. 740-438-8919 And an update. This morning, he was working Door Dash, he got involved in a serious car accident and the totaled car is completely smashed up. He has a lot of cuts and scrapes. His luck is not in his favor. He's okay. Very shaken up
  5. Is this still available? I doubt it is but just checking
  6. He says he learned a long time ago but would need a refresher. I think automatic would be best but if all options are exhausted or no other options, I could reteach him
  7. Phone glitched and created a duplicate post. Please delete
  8. Hello all, First of all, if it isn't the right section, I apologise. I wanted to put a call for help. Some of you may know that I am a teacher of the Deaf at Ohio School for the Deaf. I have a former student, a good kid at heart but he has been through a lot growing up and this month is crushing blow after blow. Earlier in the year, he was dropped off at a homeless shelter by his family with no explanation. One of our staff took him in to give him a home, helped him get his feet planted, and provided him a car to use. Well now this month alone, the car was totaled in a semi sideswipe accident, his "mom" (the one who took him in) is in the hospital on life support from COVID-19, and he was recently told that he would have to move out. So he will not have a car in two weeks. I've been working with him to develop a plan. I wanted to ask you all if you know of someone who has a good dependable car for cheap $1500 or less that he can buy to continue working and supporting himself. Trying here and asking friends first before resorting to the shady Marketplace
  9. Agreed. I can't even navigate the site now. I just want to read fun articles but every time I try to click on an article, I'm somehow now in the racing section which I'm not interested (it's all F1 cars and nascar now apparently)
  10. I can tell you as a teacher, please do not send your kids to school. There are just too many variables that has not been thought through and I don't want to risk my life or your kid. Stay at home.
  11. Bumping this up. I'm not sure if Sam is his SN or does he go. Y another?
  12. Is there anyone good with masonry that could show me how to mix mortar properly and patch stuff? I'm trying to repair my front steps to be stronger and less crumbly so I can put brick veneers on it. I'll be happy to compensate for the time with food, alcohol or money. I've already done the first two bottom steps and frankly they look like shit but better than before. I need to learn how to patch the voids I've left behind and stuff. Yeah finally found something I'm not good at.
  13. My mom and dad decided to have sex and make me several years past the cutoff year just to spite me 32 years later
  14. I cannot find any good information. From some sketchy websites, it appears I pay a fee, watch videos/learn, take a exam and pass. Poof I get a license. Is that true? The website run by the state is down for construction so there's no clear answer on that.
  15. Affordable as in 5,000 or less. My Buick is awesome and capable and all that but I just want something to tinker with. Something to build up, improve, or enhance. Plus it would be nice to have a second vehicle just to have. I don't have a problem buying a high mileage as long as I know it won't cause me problems down the road. That's where I ask you guys. What kind of SUV/Truck that won't have too much problems when they're high mileage but well-kept. I'm aiming for a rust-free vehicle. I have seen some Explorers (when they switched to uni-body) in the range I want and they look well-kept but are the engines in them good? That kind of advice/recommendation is what I'm looking for. Another reason is that I would like to use it to tow the pontoon that my family picked up. The Buick is capable of pulling it but I don't want to risk the transmission as well as have it available for my mom to use (her Tahoe is rusty and RWD).
