  1. :megusta:

I've always been curious about the Chrysler lot.

Sounds like it would be a great place?

No Chrysler lot anymore....we do it at Geauga Lake:

All concrete light poles have been removed and we even have more lot to play with. IIRC we are going to try and use the other half of the lot for even longer runs, but it depends on the surface condition.

  2. I'm just glad i didn't sink the SHOboat. I know the GTR drive did tell me he go some good pix if me, and was turning them in before he left saturday. So it we should have some more up soon.

Yea OVR should be hosting all of the images and will get them up sooner or later. They are usually pretty good about that stuff and getting it up quick.

    Results are up BTW:

  3. I agree with the forum phenomenon, but having BMW extend the warranty's on the hpfp and turbos adds a little validity.

I really want the 335 just don't want something that will break down on the wife too often.

Besides the HPFP the N52/54/55 block is solid.

  4. Forums blow things out of proportions when it comes to failures.

You get all of the enthusiasts and people that complain about all problems they have, the want to vent. But you never have the normal people that have nothing wrong rave about the car.

The M Coupe is suppose to have a VANOS failure that makes the engine go boom, yet the failure rate is lower than 1% where forums makes it seem like 50%

  5. What width are the wheels? Going too wide can be negative (can develop shimmy on the wheel and reduce feedback and overall grip)

IMO the Dunlop ZIIs are the best tire for you. The RS3s are awesome in the heat but lack grip in the cold. However the fastest driver yesterday ran on RS3s so my statement is invalid. He was on a lower HP car though...so still consider this option.

The BFG Rivals are suppose to be a really good tire, but BFG said themselves that the tire is not meant for wet.

  6. Thanks Jones

Looking at that really helps my decision of "should I buy a GoPro?". Looks like it would be really handy to see where I'm screwing up.

Yea. Depending on where you put it you can see how your inputs are going and what it does to your line and car

  7. No pics of me :(

46.4 is the fastest for me today. Video is being edited and will be posted. I was fighting it all day. Understeer turned into oversteer in the blink of the eye. The car and tires did not like the cold.

Power was virtually impossible to put down today.

Ended 2/13 in RTR, 12/100 in PAX

  8. I remember running one of these a few years back. It was so incredible disorganized, and the times never showed whenever I finished. I was actually so disappointed that I stopped pursuing autox all together. Since then the old MR2 is just sitting in a garage. Anyone want? lol

I hope you guys have better results.

Don't know who you did it with, but OVR SCCA is one of the cleanest ran events ive been to around Ohio. I'm driving 2.5 hours to attend, if that says anything.

Dust off the MR2 and bring it back out. You'll see times have changed.

  9. I'll give you a bus length headstart from a roll, and still won't matter.

    TURBO LOL THEN MR. MAN.

    Hush.

Can't wait to run the fixed course, so I can get some baseline numbers with the new car. I am resisting the urge to fit the new toy I got for my car until I can see what I can get out it of bone stock.

Don't get your hopes up, because it's not being ran tomorrow.

With the weather, OVR couldn't make it out to the site to validate that the markings are still there, and defaulted to designed courses.

  10. Aleast two of them were familiar with weapons. One even had hundreds of hours under his belt handling weapons and proper training. In fact, he was the one who did absolutely zero to help the situation he was faced with in the simulation. You're right, one-sided, completely.

One was familiar from using it in airsoft. Com'on

  11. +1 and I have my CCW. I rarely carry.

    Watch this

    Video is one-sided.

Guns given to people with gloves, oversized shirts and no training what-so ever.

There are people who get this CHL, and do nothing else. There are also people who get their CHL, and continue for further training to master it. Big difference.

There are multiple courses around Ohio that teach advance handgun training. Commence Fire is one of them up here in NEO, but there is also TDI which is awesome. Both teach to how to fire under stress, movement, and from a holster.

No range can offer you that.

What I'm saying, is that there are plenty of people that go beyond just being able to handle a gun, so please do not generalize the whole CHL population with a 1-sided video.

I personally participate in a little group up here that run IDPA practices/drills. It isn't IDPA, but it utilizes the same targets, hit score, and timers. They set it up for self defense situations, where you have limited target area available, limited ammunition, reloading, off-hand shooting, shooting on the move lef/right forward/backward...etc. Every drill is from your holster, so you need to draw and engage.

Anyways, at first I sucked at hitting targets effectively. But now after practicing more and more...you get a lot better at it.

As well, Geeesammy, you don't know much about CHL do you? I carry with no safety, one in the chamber....aka condition 0.

  12. For one of my classes in school a group did research on kinesiotape versus regular athletic tape versus none with athletes that have had prior leg related injuries.

They had a balance plate and did all sorts of tests before and after to observe the results. They also had the participants wear the tape for 2 days to get use to it.

The findings all pointed towards kinesiotape as having better posture, stabilization and movement front/back, left/right on the legs. Pretty cool stuff.

    That's all I really know

  13. The N52 (328) is a solid engine and car. My dad owned a E90 (4 Door) and now a E92 (2 Door) and has had absolutely zero problems with it. They are a bit sluggish with the auto, but with a manual the engine dynamics change a lot.

The 335 is a good car, and depends on what year you get. A 2011+ 335i carries the N55 engine, which is a single turbo twin scroll, versus past, where the N54 had a twin turbo. Supposedly the N55 was to fix the HPFP issues, and I haven't really seen any show up either. There are claims of more lag on the N55, but can't really back that up with any personal experience.

HPFP is covered for 120k IIRC, and other than that and walnut blasting the service is almost identical.

  14. Used to be able to get them from Buckeye Nissan, but a couple years ago I tried to go over there to pick up something in a pinch and they had basically no stock of anything.

Zaino is very controlling over their distribution. Most of the east and central parts of the country they want to come straight through them.

    Basically sums this one up.

  15. Sounds like the law would have been on their side if they didn't pull a gun. The previous story states there was a toddler in the suv, that's who I really feel bad for.

    Not at all.

He initiated first contact by going up to the car and punching the driver (seen on video)...regardless of being ran off the road as claimed or not.

    Now if:

    1. He didn't follow the kids

    2. The kids did in reality ran him off the road, force him to stop by blocking him in

    AND

    3. They got out of their car, made first contact and posed a threat to serious harm for him and her wife

Then yes, it would be a legal use of his weapon
