-
Someone take this from me, throw me some offers.
-
Sorry if it seemed that way, I'm taking offers on it.
-
Okay bumping this from the grave.
Taking reasonable offers. I know what the bikes worth. Just under 6k miles now. Has a 1/4" long scratch on the left fairing. I'm also open to trades + cash for certain 600s.

Well hopefully i can get together more than $1000 but its a starting point.

Okay short version of the story, the girl I'm dating wants to start to ride, I've taught her and shes ready for her own bike, and theres the problem. She works for a division of AmeriCorp so she makes ~$4/hr. So I guess this is kind of a plea to the community, hoping someone can produce a small bike, preferably a Ninja 250, but open to all ideas, for around $1000. I know this is a low price, and i know this is gonna sound ridiculous, but she also battles with depression, and right now with spring coming and her not having any money and just other life issues she is extremely down on the rocks. I want to be able to pick up this bike with some help financially from her family and surprise her with it. Sorry for the sob story but i know this is the one thing that will cheer her up. Thanks guys

This is more of a curiosity quencher than a for sale thread. I bought an 08 250R last year to learn and I'm out growing it much faster than I thought, I love the bike, but I just want to see if theres any market for it and what kind of offers I can get, she just rolled over 4k miles yesterday.

Due to being unemployed and hence broke Ive only got about 3000. Mostly highway miles too on 33/70/71.

Girl friend of mine is looking to start out, I've already taught her to ride but she needs her own whip. Looking for a 250 under $2000.

I ride my 250 regularly up 33/70/71/670. I actually find it a lil more relaxing than in town travel. everyone is going in the same direction and at about the same speed. less confusion.

Im not sure how natural she is on the bike but i taught my girlfriend how to ride in a empty parking lot. Like you said lesson 1 was basic controls and getting the bike moving (luckily shes driven a manual car forever). As far as teaching first gear i try two approaches with people (taught a few people to drive manual cars), A. let the bike idle and have them slowly release the clutch until it just starts to engage, and then go even slower and walk the bike up to speed. B. Have her give it a little gas and slip the clutch, itll wear a lil more this way but it gets the feeling of a smooth start down and she can cut back the throttle on her own accord. Once she was getting it moving in 1st i told her just to pick her feet up but keep it slow. She picked right up, by her 5th time on the bike she was counter-steering, leaning, shifting, and downshifting like she was born on a bike.
I made sure to tell her if she got scared to just stop the bike and put her feet down, and i made sure to tell her to roll her wrist forward while braking to stop her from gassing it whilst braking. As long as your wife isnt the person to get scared and become irrational in a parking lot in 1st gear it'd be a lil difficult to lay a bike down if she can hold the weight up.
Good luck!

It sounds strange but it could just be Kaspersky reading the hdd, not it actually going bad, awhile back when I still used my original xbox i had to ftp games to it, when i would do that my hdd would make a high pitched squeal but only if i used flashfxp and only when i was ftping to my xbox. if the hdd starts making more noise than i would move to back it up.

Yeah, i looked at trading it in before selling and thats the number they gave me, so if they are giving me $2800 they are gonna want atleast $3000 for it plus the taxes the buyer would pay putting it back up to $3500 again. I feel that $3000 is a fair price all things considered.
