blue03636
If it was someone that is qualified to do so would be one thing. A personal trainer isn't. Epically to tell someone that they can't achieve there goals.
nautical1
I have to agree with Blue on this, although I'm not a qualified physician or anything. But I've never heard of someone not able to lose any weight, even if they have thyroid issues and such. I'd recommend seeing and taking a doctor's advice over a personal trainer. Almost anyone can become a certified trainer and there are plenty out there that preach their personal beliefs and put people on a program that isn't best suited for them, and people who aren't as educated don't know any better.. Again, I'm no professional I've just done a ton of research and been working out for years and like I said, I've never heard of someone never being able to lose any weight. Although surgery can help, following a proper diet counting macros and working your ass off will get you results, although it may come a little slower and harder for some than others. Take it for what it is and call me an idiot if you'd like, just giving my input. Ultimately it's your guys' decision and has no effect on me. Best of luck. 2talltim
Didnt say she couldn't lose weight just said her goals weren't obtainable. And the PT recommendation was for her to talk to some specialist doctors (which we did) and this is the course of action they/we decided on after a shit ton of testing and a lot of trial and error stuff. This wasn't a spur of the moment thing for her it's been a year and a half ordeal and thousands of dollars in medical bills just to decided this is her best option. Didn't think I needed to go on that kind of depth, and there are still things I will not disclose that were factors. All I was saying is it got kicked off by the PT pulling her to the side and giving her a heart to heart and telling her what she wanted to acieve wasn't going to happen. And with what we found out with all the testing probably saved her life.
blue03636
I would like to add that I'm in no way ridiculing you guys for choosing surgery. I'm sure it was a tough decision. Good on both of you for deciding to drop weight. I hope all goes well.

My 40x34 work jeans im wearing now i don't even have to unbutton or unzip them to put them on or take them off I have to really tighten down the old belt. We will see how the next couple few months go, but I'm pretty confident is coming off to stay off this time. Ill probably need to drop about 30 to 40 lbs more to get into a 36.

2talltim
Well I changed things up a few weeks ago and it wans't for the better. Went with bran and greek yogurt and a fruit for my break fast and it did nothing. I hit a plateau and haven't lost anything in a couple weeks. So this week I decided to get back to what I was doing with my Nutribullet blender and making my green breakfast blast shake https://www.nutriliving.com/recipes/green-breakfast-blast and already this week I'm down 4 more lbs. Lots of good stuff in that shake and it stays with me longer in to the day. With the other breakfast I was starving my 10:30 with my shake I can go till non with no problems. That shake makes me feel so much better too.

2talltim
I accually figured 2 or 3 beers a day into my diet but have found I don't want to drink them. I used to be a case or more a week now I've only drank maybe 30 beers since February 14th. And 12 of those were last weekend...lol
Tpoppa
Alcohol makes it soooo much harder. Plus you retain a lot of water the next day. I lost about 30, would have been 50 without the drinking.

OsuMj
I'm doing a weight loss thing with work. The final weigh in is on 4/29. I'm down a solid 16 lbs.(+or- 1 lb depending on what i ate the day before). I cut calories (mostly cheese ), take a 1.4 mile walk at work when I have 20 minutes to myself, and occasionally get motivated for a jog or pilates. After the final weigh in, I'm going to start training for a half triathlon in June (who wants to join??!). Overall, I would love to eat more cheese and chocolate again, but I'm excited that walking up the hill at work doesn't make me breath heavy any more. OsuMj
I gained some weight after I sprained my ankle and couldn't run for a few months, then 5 lbs when I lost my school gym membership and then another lb per month at my new job for just shy of a year... There's so much free food there and its always tacos and lasagna. Anyway, back to where I want to be and ready to start training.

Anyone else interested? http://insaneinflatable5k.com/columbus-oh/ You realize most of these events are for profit. Yes they donate some money to charity just to make it look good but they are far from charity events. Not saying you wouldn't have a good time but I've talked to quite a few people that want to tell me "it's for a good cause". All the though mudder and color run events are all about the same a very small portion goes to charity.
