1952 Chevy - A family heirloom

Today, while I was at work, my son "helped" my father work on the rear drum brakes/emergency brake. It took me back to at time when I worked with my father and grandfather (R.I.P.) building a cabin in the Hocking Hills. Many great memories are being made with this build.

Progress has been made. A friend of ours has been helping dad weld on the body in the parts where we removed the little bit of rust it did have. Dad has been learning/self teaching how to weld and do body work. Must be nice being retired. Anyway, we got the cab and fenders mocked on tonight. It's getting closer. Goal is to make it to a CC&C this year (mine) and Pumpkin Run (all of ours).

Well, dad did it. Purchased a welder, watched a lot of youtube, and with the guidance of some fabricator's we know he learned to weld (although he did pay to have a buddy do some of the tougher work) then learned body work. My uncle (who once upon a time owned a body shop) came down today and approved of his work. Paint has been ordered and is on the way.
