  1. Posting this here before it goes on FB or CL.

Bought this as a loaner/spare trackbike, never ended up needing it. Scraped and dinged, but runs perfect and low mileage. I mounted some take-off tires, nasty old mirrors, and lazily hung some of the plastics so it can be street-ridden and enjoyed if you're into that kind of thing. New battery, new engine ice coolant. The rest of the street plastics and some spare junk are in a big box that go with it.

    Stock except-

    -adjustable rear link

-vortex rearsets (one is tweaked slightly)

    -vortex clip ons

    -power commander

    -mystery chode exhaust

Did you end up going?  How was it?

Perfect. A little breezy, but cool and pleasant and no rain. The track was fast, and the traffic was relatively light.

The last couple events they've had a ton of novices, so they combine Int and Adv into one group around 20-25 riders, then have 2 novice groups a faster one (that sounded pretty racy) and a normal one.

And finally fries are back at the concession stand. Not sure for how long, get em before they're gone again.

  3. Looks like a cool cloudy day at mid ohio tomorrow, anyone else going?

I don't expect any personal bests, but no sunburn or heat stroke either.

Who knows how many more seasons it'll be open before it gets turned into a Costco or Ikea or whatever.

  4. Last time AIMEXPO was in town it was a great time. Loads of bikes to demo and didn't care a ton for the indoor stuff but it was fine to escape the heat for a bit.

I can't remember if IMS did public test rides or not? The demo trucks don't seem to come around like they used to.

The constitution is very clear about no infringement.

Shame ranges aren't more available for people to develop and maintain proficiency, given how critical firearms were (and still are) to personal and national security.

I expect if more people cared about shooting and racing we'd have ranges and tracks opening up, instead of closing down.

That concrete patch has been causing issues this year. I never went right over it since it's just barely off-line but I saw someone get loose going over it and there was another video I saw where the concrete was the clear cause of the crash (front tucked as soon as the tire touched the patch). Best advice I guess is just to alter your line to stay off the patch.

Keyhole was a lot better this year at least. I'll keep spending most of my track-related money elsewhere though until they repave. Really want to get out to Pitt in 2022.

25% off mid ohio school certificates, today only.

Pittrace looks better in every way, except it's 4x the distance for me :( Time to move

Well, if you all feel like watching me crash, here is another one from Nelson Ledges earlier this year. I was jockeying for 2nd I think and came upon an “expert” who I assumed would accelerate out of the turn and hold his line when he did not. It looks like I could have gotten back on the track but it rained heavy so I was riding through deep puddles in the grass. I was hoping I could ride it out but quickly realized that wasn’t happening when I locked up my brakes and didn’t slow down at all. I got a little off line on some of the laps but this was my first weekend at Nelson and was just creeping into 1:11’s.

Nelson is a crappy track to go off. Tire walls come up quick, and there isn't enough paved run off for things like this :(

I'm sure #2 appreciates you not stuffing it into the back of him.

Check the can chain tensioner.  Some of them had issues.   I had a DRZ400 that the previous owner changed the cam chain tensioner to an aftermarket for a similar reason.

I wish it were that easy. I've already replaced the camchain and tensioner on this one.

I will go. Are you sure it isn’t cancelled? They are pretty bad at communicating their cancellations.

This year (at least so far) they've been emailing anyone registered the friday before, by noon if it's cancelled.

I emailed Gwen Friday and it wasn't cancelled as of then. Should be good to go this time

LOL, looking back through the photos, they're mostly of the novice class since that's where my wife was racing.  I did get some of the I and A class, but not nearly as many.   I have several of a blue GSXR with all black gear, but I don't see a number sticker.

No worries, there was at least 1 maybe 2 nearly identical bikes. My helmet was dark grey, other guys were in black or something helmets.

Beautiful day to be out, next time get out there with her.

I only saw a couple other DSLRs, and only one other guy walking the infield with one.   What are you riding?  What's your gear look like?  It'll be another ~3 hours until my Drive upload is finished.

Blue gsxr number 789, mostly black gear. There was at least one other blue gsxr that looked mostly identical.

    Cool I'll check back later
