I AM THE LAW! Sorry, couldn't pass up the Judge Dredd reference.
-
Beats me. He may have been in the right lane farther behind me, but he definitely wasn't in the left lane when I changed lanes.
-
The asshole wasn't there when I decided to get in the left lane. I wouldn't have gotten over if I'd seen him coming. I spend the better part of my day driving, I do know what road courtesy is, contrary to what everyone in this thread seems to think. Every day. Every day I have to deal with assholes like today. People that do stupid shit, people that don't even look when merging onto the highway or changing lanes, people that cut across three or more lanes when they realize they are about to pass their exit, I could go on but I think you understand. I'm a service tech, I spend most of my day driving where most people spend an hour or less on the road, I've been doing this for over 20years and if I take a little bit of pleasure in giving some asshole a little taste of karma then I guess that just makes me a dick in the hour-or-less commuters eyes, so be it, I don't really care.
-
For the love of god already, I don't hang out in the left lane, I was only out there for a minute or two when this all happened, good god. Anyway. My big-brother-gps-enabled-work-van reports me if I go over 67mph for more than 5 minutes and reports me instantly if I break the 70mph mark. Sooo, in a case like today, if you happen to get stuck behind me in the left lane as I'm about to pass someone you can just fucking wait for me to finish my slow ass pass cause my job is more important then whatever it is you're in such a fucking hurry to get to!
-
Because it's an assumed courtesy, pass on the left, stay to the right. Once you get on 270 all that doesn't matter anymore anyway cause it's just a friggin free-for-all.
-
See, so all you haters can just What a load of shit. You guys do realize that the "slower traffic keep right" crap doesn't mean that you can go as fast as you want in the left lane.
-
Exactly. Wasn't out there long enough to call it camping, really wasn't that long. Of course not, what would have been the point of changing lanes, according to everyone here I just hang out in the left lane all day anyway!
-
Back in high school my friends and I would take my dad's car out on a Friday night, drive all over doing whatever we did and I'd throw a DOLLAR maybe 2 in the tank on the way home, that covered all the driving we did all night! Gas was around a dollar a gallon!
-
Apparently. Where the hell have you been? Hold on, let me get off the phone, put down my coffee and pull over to reply to that... No I wasn't posting while driving. I have to watch my speed like a friggin hawk cause of the big-brother-gps, what makes you think I'm talented enough to post while driving too

I thought it was f-u-c-k-i-n-g FUNNY. To be honest, I never really thought "I'll show this ass" it was more of a instictive "get over cause this guys is stopping quick in front of me" move without really thinking about the guy behind me, it wasn't until I had moved over and looked in my mirror that I began to chuckle when I saw that guy lock'em up. And how exactly can any of you claim that "I" almost caused and accident, I didn't do shit, except get out of some assholes way that was tailgating me, afterall thats all he wanted isn't, I just gave him what he wanted. I suppose if I suddenly changed lanes to avoid some large road debris and the person behind me ran into the debris that would be my fault to? Cause that's the logic you're using to say I almost caused and accident.
-
Nothing to see here, move along
-
How is/was that a prick move?? Let's see, guy tailgating me, I signaled and moved out of his way. Still not seeing anything wrong there. Had he hit the guy in front of me it would have been HIS fault, not mine. Anyway, all judgements of my driving patterns aside, the fact is still that this was still funny as all hell and I simply wanted to share it with you all. So whatever

:bigfinger:I don't "cruise" in the left lane. I generally only use it when I have to, BUT that doesn't mean I'm going to avoid using it either. The only reason I was in the left lane was I had just passed a towtruck in the right lane, see I WAS in the right lane to begin with, left that out as it had nothing to do with my story. I was still in the left lane because I could tell that if I got back over I'd just be coming back over again to pass the other two cars in the right lane, hence, I stayed out there, as I mentioned, I was planning on moving back to the right after passing the other two cars. Not that I feel I have to defend my driving to any of you fucks I have 20+ years driving for work, over 1million miles under my belt, hell thats longer than some of you are old Bingo. Mentions LEGAL traffic speed too doesn't it.
-
I do have one of those numbers, but I didn't do anything wrong, all I did was exceed the speed limit by 5mph. Here's how that call would have gone.... SAFE DRIVER SERVICE: Hello do you have a problem to report? ASSHOLE: Yes, this dick in front of me won't get out of my way SAFE DRIVER SERVICE: How fast is the driver going sir? ASSHOLE: 60 SAFE DRIVER SERVICE: And what is the posted speed limit sir? ASSHOLE: 55 SAFE DRIVER SERVICE: Click. BTW, using the left lane for nothing besides passing = BS

I wish I could have seen/heard the reaction of the guy driving the large towtruck that was in the right lane behind all of us, he had a great view of the entire thing as it unfolded. In my 20+ years of field working and driving company vehicles this was by far the funniest thing that has ever happened to me on the highway. And Shitty, oh well, don't get behind me! My company van has gps tracking me so I don't speed (much) and I'll drive in whatever lane I want I don't purposely sit in the fast lane and try to hold people up, but what I won't do is go out of MY way to appease someone that's in a hurry. He could have easily went around me.

Okay, the funniest damn thing just happened to me while driving Northbound on 23 leaving Cirlcleville headin back to Cbus. Let me set this up for you.... I'm NB on 23, speed limit is 55, I'm in the LEFT lane with the cruise set @ 60. There are two cars in the RIGHT lane up ahead that I am slowly but surely catching up to. I notice a silver car coming up behind me, it gets right up on my ass, had to be under a foot from my bumper. Now, I hate tailgaters, and I had no intention of moving over for this guy, I did however plan to get over AFTER passing the two cars in the right lane. Here's where the fun happens. Out of the blue, the last car in the right lane comes over into the left, puts his signal on and starts to slow down, he's gonna make a left at one of the turnoffs ahead. The guy behind me is so far up my ass, there is no way he saw this guy get over in front of me. Soooo (can you see where this is going) I did not slow down and at the LAST available second before I plowed into the guy turning, I put my signal on and quickly changed lanes I looked in my sideview mirror, and saw smoke coming from the tires of the asshole that was behind me! He must have missed plowin that guy by inches! I stayed in the right lane and the guy eventually passed me, he gave me a dirty look, but I was laughing hysterically which pissed him off even more and he sped away. This was probably one of the funniest things that has ever happened to me in all my years of driving work vans. I couldn't have set this up any better. Ahhhh, back to work.

Damnit, I was gonna post this, just found this before seeing your thread. Awesome voice. The guy is bound to get a job at a radio/tv station after this. Hope he does.

I like the idea of possibly networking the printer and external hd, maybe later if we get another regular pc to use instead of the netbook.
-
Not worth the $$ at this time. Setup works as is, just have to keep the printer unplugged from the netbook until you want to use it. For a few dollars I'll pickup a 4port usb hub and a ac/usb adapter, all will be fine.
-
Our router doesn't have any usb's on like you mention. Right now I have a switch for the external hd and a switch for the printer, either pc can use the printer or hd by switching to it. I thought of the AC/USB thing after I posted that message, I may do that for the chillpad.
-
Ok so for the past month Melissa and I have been sharing her pc. As of this morning I've officially confiscated it I moved it over to my desk, took my widescreen monitor and moved it to her desk and rigged up the netbook for her to use with the widescreen monitor. I'm using the older standard flatscreen with the older pc, the netbook works better with the wide anyway. I setup her email on the netbook, migrated her from outlook express over to thunderbird portable. All is good again. Sharing was a challenge Oh and since the netbook may be getting a little more use then it used to I bought a chillpad for under it, but I have to pickup a small usb hub cause the thing only has 3usb ports and I need a couple more, especially if we need to hookup the external cdrom drive. All 3 are in use... 1-receiver for wireless mouse/keyboard, 2-external hd switch, 3-chillpad Currently she needs to unplug the chillpad to plug in the printer if she needs to print. And if we need the external cdrom drive that takes 2 ports!

Plus hospitals are all now using the cell phones they wear around their necks. At least in the Columbus area they all have them.
-
Usually the only places I get no signal in a hospital is in the basement and sub-basements. I work in hospitals on a pretty regular basis.
