While the Rotary was waiting to make boost at 78,000rpm's and make torque between 78,000 to 79,200, the GTR can leap out and hold on for a while. With just a de-cat and flash the race outcome would be quite different.

Yup, so far. APR is *hinting* that they will probably recommend rods at some power level, but seeing as it's still in testing, it's all very fuzzy. They've gotten over 550tq at the wheels on moderate boost, and I don't even want to know what 27psi+ torque is like, but I'd say to fully max out whatever turbo they end up with on race gas, you'd want rods to be 100% safe.

IS LOL They are still months out from even the initial launch. Thankfully, there is a guy in the UK that is the testbed for the area. At 22-23psi it's around 560-575whp. He's already cracking the 27psi barrier and are beginning to max out the GTX3071R. Moving on to a GTX35R size and testing at 30psi+ is around the corner. It's nice to follow it's progress and see where it ends up.
