  1. Thanks. I took it out for a ride today, I've let it sit in the garage since I listed it but with the day off and good weather I couldn't resist. Yes I replaced The chain. It is a Vortex 520 kit.  14/45.

  2. 2007 SV650S. For sale, No Trades. Bike has 34,719 miles and runs great. Title is clean and clear. This was my first bike and Has been my daily commuter for the last three years. This would make a great first bike or track day/project bike. The bike is not perfect, (I've listed what I know is wrong) she's a rider not a show bike.

The stands are not included. I will include all of the original parts that I have.

    The Good.

    - Gsxr rear shock

    - Sonic spring front springs .90 + 20 wt oil

    - Adjustable shorty levers

    - Color matched real seat cowl

    - Fender Eliminator

    - Clear Alt rear turn signals

    - LED front signals

    - M4 high mount exhaust

    - Heat shield

    - Frame sliders

    - Rear spools/sliders

    - New rear tire not mounted

    The Bad

-This bike has been down on both sides. Once dropped in the garage, and one low speed drop in the yard. There is no major damage. It does have a few scratches and scuffs.

    - Bike is do for a valve check.

    - Rear brake will hold you on a hill but that's about it.

    - The front fairing is a little hazie. (This may buff out I really have no ideal why this happened.)

    - The left side seat cover plate bolt stripped out and I had to drill it out. Cover is fine

    The New-Ish

I did some work on the bike early this season so al theses parts have 1113 miles on them.

    - New Vortex chain and sprockets. 14/45  520

    - New OEM airfilter.

    - New Yusa Battery.

    - New K&N filter and oil change.

  3. If you can get it "dirt cheap" Then hell yea, hop on the SV train. They're fairly Cheapish to maintain, easy on tires, and can be modded as far as your wallet can go. I think the 1st gens were a little more prone to get water in the front spark plug hole if you plan on riding in heavy rain. But other then that fairly bullet proof. I've put around 31k on my 2nd gen with no mechanical issues at all.

  4. Aprilia's dealer network is really bad actually.  They sell maybe 4k units a year.

How so? Is it just crappy dealerships or a lack of parts issue? I've been to Iron Pony and Honda East in Maumee but not to any of they other dealers.

My point was more to the fact that there is a readily available dealer network compared to buell. And I agree that they should bring multiple bikes to market to help pull in more customers. I also wounder if these new dealerships are going to be set up to handle XB/1125 Buells or if they will simpley wipe there hands of the past.

  5. ^^

Where is this strong Aprilia dealer network??? I've never seen it.  Ducati's dealer support is better than Aprilia, but it's no Honda.

Well I just checked the Aprilia web site and acording to it, there are 7 dealers in Ohio alone. So as far as I know thats exactly 7 more aprilia dealerships in Ohio then there are Buell dealerships in America. :)

  6.

My opinion, which does not matter at all, still stands, not impressed...nice bike, and good for Erik, but I guess Harley Davidson prices, and hype, still flows heavily through his veins.

At the original 1125R msrp prices, even a grand more, I would maybe consider one, still a bit leary about the whole support, warranty, parts, and future of the company though.

This pretty much sums it up. I really like the look, and the fact that it's an "american made" Sport bike but lets be real OTD price of $20k+. This is not going to be the bike that puts buell back on the map.

People pay that for Ducatis and Aprilia because they are considered exotics, and they have a huge pedigree of race wins. Not to mention a strong dealer network.
