  1. Lucia at LA Alterations does the work herself right there in the building. If I remember correctly she charged me $75 for first altering it, adding more room in the crotch and arms :D. And then $70 for crash repair which involved a large patch on the ass and mending the seam in the forearm and shin areas. And yes her work held up through my T1-2 lowside at Nelson.

Each time I've gone in there have been a couple other suits hanging there. Whatever you do tell her you need it a week before you do...just in case.

  2. My street glide is stock suspension all around. While I wish it handled better for a spirited ride the long 2-up touring (trip to Maine, and one to Deal's Gap) we have done has been comfortable. I've got a sundowner seat and am thinking about adding a backrest for me.

  3. love the ventilation... it's not even that loud, coming from the dam scorpion.

i checked the deflector out, and the little tab stop on that side seems to be molded at a slight angle. so, i'm thinking a sliver or two or electrical tape will fix it right up. but i'll try to get to that tomorrow. going drinking now. :-)

Which Scorpion did you have? Do you think its heavier or lighter than the Scorpion? I've been looking at these myself.

  4. I will be there friday, not sure if I'm riding yet or not.

They will also be spliting fridays into 2 groups with 30 min sessions.

Is this now the standard for Friday nights? I thought Fridays were open track?

I'll be out there Friday night, anyone bringing a beacon? My times at Nelson are garbage and I like to see how slow I am.

  5. Chris it was good seeing you this weekend and hanging in the pits BS-ing. You were riding well out there, with some very SOLID finishes!

Thanks for the compliments but I'm sure the extra 150cc's is helping. The HWT solo only had two novices so I got a gift second place. B SS, and BSB I ended up in 3rd. B SS we all pretty much crossed the line at the same time, 2nd place was .065 behind, and I was .012 behind 2nd. Crazy race that one was I was.

As for the solo's, I'm learning to hate them. I too was just drained afterwards similar to bonking on a long run and it affected me Sunday. I need to get in better shape.

Unfortunately I now have a 2.5 month long break because I can't make another round until Beaverun in Sept.

  6. The one thing I've found with Saturdays is a ton of down time; too much down time for my taste. Lots of guys use the solo's to get comfortable on the track for Sunday, but you obviously won't have that issue being at Beave. If you've got rains and are going to run regardless I'd just pre-register; but if you don't then I'd wait.

  7. I'm betting if it doesn't look green, they won't think twice about it. Besides both WaterWetter and Engine Ice are still glycol based but I get antifreeze protection from Ice and it's biodegradable so any clean up shouldn't be a problem.

There is no bolt, found section in manual for flushing the system. They say to remove the hose going to the pump, drain, reattach, fill with water, run, cool, drain, repeat. Looks like a couple hours of work at the least so I'll have to run to the store to get a several gallons of distilled water.

Don't know what year gsxr you have but that is the way to do it on my 07. Pull the hose leading to the water pump and let it drain. On the water pump there is a bleeder bolt, its just a bolt on the outward face that you can crack open until fluid starts coming out and then re-tighten. A good trick to get all the air out without having to run it over and over again is to fill the radiator and then slowly lean the bike way over to one side and then way over to the other. BE CAREFUL not to drop the bike, it can be done alone, I sit on the bike and lean it that way. The fluid level will go down, fill it up repeat the side to side, refill over and over until the fluid level doesn't drop. This cuts alot of time out of the process. If you have air in the system, your bike will run hot.

Don't know if this makes sense or not, but I'll be there tonight if you need any help. Red/White gsxr #85.

I'm hoping to get there before dark on Friday, but if I don't cut the lawn before i leave, the locks will be changed when I get home ...and there will be a note outside taped to the lawn mower.

Hey Chris, it's Ben. I met you last year at Nelson good to see you're getting your nose out of the books and onto the track!

    I'm on a red/white GSXR I'll be in Advanced.
