  2. On Friday I received a call at work from a chick who was "moving to Florida" and has 2 CT 70's for sale, cheap. So, I send over a guy from the shop with explicit instructions on calling me with the frame numbers of the bikes BEFORE giving her the check. I also told him to check her driver's license and copy all the information. Did he? Nope. She tells him her DL number, he never checks it or calls me with the frame numbers.

So, what did he bring back to the shop? Not one, but two bikes with the frame numbers ground off. I was beyond upset. Told him to take them back, drop them in the front yard if no one was there and tell the chick that I have stopped payment on the check.

He did take them back. If the chick was there, she didn't come out of the house but sent some young kid out. Shop dude tells him these bikes were ot at some point and here ya go - here's your bikes back.

Chick never called the shop again - hmmm. So, just for chits and giggles I ran her name through the local court search. Multiple charges for RSP and forgery.

Lesson - never do business outside the shop, ever.

  3. a guy i did work for up here opened coffee/bike shop called Coffee and Chrome.

and it's not just harley oriented.

Hey Curby, who are you? Send me a message through the contact form on SpikesShineShop.com.

Just a little fyi - the bike shop is Spike's Shine Shop and the coffee shop/cafe inside is Coffee & Chrome. We'll be open in about 2 weeks - a little behind schedule, but nearly there!

  4. First things first -- we do chicken, the best BBQ chicken you have ever tasted. Grown right here in NEO, and cooked by the Mr. Chicken himself.

Now, dates have to be decided -- I think after my lot is finished, we can probably get 200 bikes in there easily. No problem with cooking or feeding that many folks, may have to get the folks over at the beverage distributor to bring the beer wagon as SSS does not sell liquor -- that's no biggie there.

Our shop opening is currently scheduled for April 2010 and we seem to be moving right along on target. The demo on the other buildings will be shortly thereafter, so by the time it's riding weather and warm enough to hang out, we'll be ready.

Unless, someone else wants to volunteer their space -- and I'm okay with that too.

  5. we need a clubhouse like a real biker gang. :D

Well, Spike's Shine Shop and the Coffee & Chrome cafe should be up and running by then.... but alas, we are in Canton. This is part of the reason we decided to open -- great place to hang out, etc.

I'll post some pics of the construction progress...

  6. So far, detailing, quick oil change, restoration of vintage bikes, custom graphics and paint work, i'm not sure about the mechanical services yet, as he --aka Mike -- is the Shop Dude and I am the Queen of All Things Chrome "Buffer B*tch" to those who know me well.

The website will undergo a face lift shortly to include the Cafe, meeting rooms, retail MC goods, etc... I may have to outsource some web design because I am up to my arse in building plans, permits and distributors at the moment. Feel free to look at my profile for a link to the website -- contact info is there - or on the social networking sites, facebook, twitter, yelp, etc... Give us a call, if you have questions, or need a progress update.

My mommy calls me Annie.... and Mike is my better half...

Take care everyone! (oooo and some pics are up in my album if anyone cares to see some of our bikes.. I think we're up to 12 or 13 now...)

  7. I am female ;-) and it was probably my SO on the 65 Superhawk.

Well, it's OFFICIAL! We just finalized the deal on the new location today and will be starting construction ASAP. We hope to be open by April in the new location..... which would be a perfect spot for NE Ohio Riders to meet and hang out, btw...

The location is...... ( I am sooo bad)

on W. Tuscarawas St... and I think (am not 100% sure) the number is 3145...

okay-- sure now, just checked out the documents -- Spike's Shine Shop will be located at 3145 W. Tusc, Canton. It's the site of the former Troup and Pluto Studios.

As I finish the marketing ideas, I am sure we'll have to figure something special for all my new BFFs here at Ohio Riders.

    Take care all!

  8. I found the site while searching for maps of rides in the Ohio area. Took a few minutes (okay more than a few) and decided to register and stay a while.

They call me Spike (kinda like they call me Tater-Salad) in the web world -- not really as rough and tough as it sounds though.

Live and work in the Canton, OH area -- in the process of opening a detail shop with cafe and non-stop MC movies, events, races playing in the lounge area. (Only open for detailing currently as we are waiting unti the weather breaks to begin the build-out on the cafe area). Hope to be fully up and running by riding season here - around late spring.

I/we (my significant other and I) both ride, met riding -- well, okay HE was broken down on the side of the road and I stopped to help... and we've been together ever since. (Note to all you astute readers -- HE is the s.o., HE is not gay, and I, Spike, am not a male)

So, for now -- I guess that's it. Back to work for me.

Have a great day unless you've made other plans!

I haven't read the T&Cs for the forum yet -- so, if you want the link to the biz, just PM me.

    Spike

  9. I tried call ing this dude -- just for chits and giggles. His phone number has been disconnected -- and as of yesterday, the posting was still up on CL. The dumbass must not know that if LE wanted his address all they have to do is contact CL and they'll hand over the IP address of where the ad was posted... IP address is just about as good as GPS coordinates.
