  1. That was me! I was out taking photos of you guys since I still wanted to be there even though I didn't have a bike ready. I'll start uploading photos to my SmugMug tonight when I get back to CBus. Here's the link: http://m5racing.smugmug.com/

I have a few of the photos in Canon RAW format; if you're interested please let me know!

Alright great. If you have any photos of a black\white GSXR with yellow number plates, that's me. I'll check them out later and let you know.

  3. Wow!!! That's the fastest section of the track and this was always my worst fear when I people were passing me down that straight because you'll never know when the person in front of you may decide to alter their line.
  4. I just read about that this morning myself. This had to have happened on Tuesday. Any word on if the rider is alright? I know that it's the unfortunate reality of the our hobby, but I hate to see anyone seriously injured from doing what we all love to do.

  5. I had a great time as well. Finally, a completely dry track day. We couldn't have ask for better weather for a track day (not too hot, but warm enough for great grip around the track). This was my first time out in the intermediate group and once I got used to pace, and being passed (as well as passing others), I had a blast. I'm truely addicted. A special thanks to Scott Evans for coaching me. I definately learned alot.

  6. Besides the crappy weather, I really enjoyed this track on Saturday. Especially when we had a few hours of dry weather (just enough for the track to dry up. To me, the bumpy patches throughout the track were not bad. There were lines that could be taken to avoid some of the rougher ones. The only turn that kinda messes with my head is I think is turn 13 (the final turn to the front straight) because of the patch-work but I felt pretty planted throughout the rest of the course (when it was dry).

  7. Wow. I heard that there were alot of imperfections at this track, but its really that bad? I guess I didn't think it would be that bad with as many races that are held there through fasttrax. I'll be sure to really take my time out there as I'm not looking forward to going down again on just my second outing. Thanks for the warning.

  8. I called Mid-Ohio myself and found out that if you attended both dates (4/24 and 4/25) you will receive a $125 credit toward your next track day. If you only attended one of those dates, you'll receive $65 credit. This is only valid for May and June track day events. I'm glad to see that midohio is giving us something to make up for the crappy weather that weekend. Looks like I'll be signing up for June 7 for sure. Not quite sure if I'll sign up the 8th as well yet.

  9. I'm not really completely discouraged. At least I learned a valuable lesson about being smooth and having good throttle control around the track at a slow speed which is absolutley imperative when its wet. And since I've already tasted the pavement, the fear of the first fall is out of the way. So, it wasn't a complete waste of money.

Thanks for the offer on the garage, I'll keep a lookout if I'm there the same day.

  10. It wasn't me either, but I did participate in both Saturday and Sunday trackday events. Just sucks that the worst rain that we've received in this town thus far just happened to occur on that weekend. This was my very first track day and I was one of the riders that went down in the novice group due to slippery conditions. Alot of people warned me about how slippery this track gets in the wet and several people refused to put their bike on the track after it rained, but I couldn't see myself spending that much money for a track day and not ride. Fortunately my fall was a low speed low slide (about 30 mph) and it didin't result in much damage. For any other newbies, it you choose to ride at mid ohio in the rain, please ride smart and cautiously, especially around the slippery black areas that I'll just call black ice. I will be at Nelson Ledges next month and plan on coming back to mid ohio in June. Hopefully both dates will be dry.
