  1. I'm doing the same thing...

1st you have to get the title transfered and pay 6.75% of the purchase price +$15 title fee

2nd you have to buy a 3 yr registration which gets you the metal plate $34.75 for 3 years expires on Dec 31 of the 3rd year.

replacement plates are $11.75 if you lose it

I asked about attaching it to your person and he didn't see any rule against that.

  2. The EVS Option elbow/knee guards are the bomb, for the $$ they're awesome...very comfy. I prefer a chest protector to a pressure suit (mesh/armor), I found the pressure suits to not hold up very well, expensive, and in the summer they're hot as fuck.

Good boots are a must tho, if you don't have a good pair spend the $$, you're absolutely guaranteed to hurt your ankles/shins if you ride offroad. They pay for themselves the first time you land under the bike.

BTW, if you wanna hit Perry a couple of us are going to go down Sunday and putz around (my buddy has a WR250 too). Won't be anything hardcore, just some trails and goofing off. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Thanks for the suggestions. I agree EVS is nice... I had everything but upper body....which is now covered...some armored shorts and should be bruise free next time.

Perry sounds good...I know you need registration and ORV plate for that place... hoping I can get it taken care of before Sunday...If I do...I would like to meet up with you guys. If not may run back to Wellsville. Thanks

  3. Well...got it and took it to Wellsville this past Saturday with a big group of ATV riders and it was a blast..but I need to invest in some hip and elbow pads. I am thinking about those mesh shirts that have all the armor built in...and some armored shorts? One ATV ended in a tree about 7 feet off the ground and another guy got a nice gash...oh and a few met the local police....maybe Perry this weekend!Has the exhaust mod (remove the restrictor but keeps spark arrestor), the grey wire mod (allows the CDI unit to advance the spark), the throttle mod (removes the limiter block from the throttle allowing the bike to fully rev up), the idle mixture screw mod (removes the sealing cap from the carb and installs and idle mixture screw so you can tune the bike), New racetech springs (maybe a little too stiff for me). replaced the stock carb fuel bowl screws with allens, Moose racing brush busters and hand guards on it.

  4. Hi,

Looking for just about any place where I can have a little fun on a dirt bike. Anyone know of a place not too far from the NW side of Columbus. Getting tired riding circles around my house...and the association will probably be by soon to remind me I don't live in the country

Looking for any and all suggestions....

    Thanks

  5. I am thinking about buying an 2005 WR 250.

I have not had a dirt bike before so don't have a lot of knowledge about them. Any comments about this model/year? Anything I should look for etc. It looks brand new and runs like new I am told... and was bought, road a few times and forgotten. I know someone who is friends with them and they are really honest.

    Thanks

  6. I have it with a guy today to spot weld a short pipe to the baffle to extend out the end...which should work temporarily. Now just waiting on Akro to see if they can make good or if I'll just get a new Full Graves system. Price is good and replacement cans are in stock too and in the US, US made and those guys respond really quick...maybe when everything comes in sell the full akro on ebay or here on the forum.

Learned that next year I should have 1-2 spares in hand or switch

    Thanks for trying

  7. Thanks for asking. I need a replacement can or a scratched up ground down is fine end cap for an Akropovic race system for an 08-10 R6

I ordered a repair kit for my akropovic exhaust and after 2 months got it. Today I was putting it together and noticed the end cap I got is not the whole end cap just the carbon cap...so the way it is now the packing would blow out the end and the carbon cap would melt. I called Akro USA manager's cell and he is going to call back, but can't see it being resolved by Saturday. Another option I have is I may ask a buddy to tac weld a piece of pipe that will fit over the baffle and extend out the cap...which would work temporarily...

But... I am afraid what I need will not be offered and I'll need to just order another muffler (which I would have gladly done at the beginning) which may take another ? amount of time... from the scematic you can't tell there is any other piece other than one part number for the carbon end cap.

I'll have to type out the whole experience when I get a chance...hard to believe...

I have to give a thanks out to

    Edward Mulhall

    Militnat Moto

Who is helping me get this resolved too. he has worked for Akro and LP so if you call him 1st with your akro needs won't blow your season like I did.

    Jamie
