  1. While I am waiting for the phones to arrive, I thought I should look into a new bluetooth set. I am on the phone constantly for work and need something that has good battery life. I really liked my Motorola H730, that is until it stopped charging. But the battery was great and I really like the flipping boom to turn it on/off.

Which bluetooth do you use with your iphone? does it do the text to speech thing? how long does the battery last?

  2. that will do it. I use the same old gauge that I have had for years. I don't know if it is accurate or not, but i know it is consistent and it works for me.

Your basic suspension set up begins with Race Sag. There are many documents on this available on the web, but my favorite is the video from OTT. Here is the video that explains the details: http://www.onthethrottle.com/howto/suspension-set-up-on-a-suzuki-gsx-r600/ .

  3. I made good money. But I worked a LOT. I like to work, and knowing how much I get for what I do made me want to work even harder. But I am not the type of person that complains that they HAVE to work. What's there to complain about? You know how much you can make and by working faster you make more! 80% of what I did as a Sub I did running. I found ways to improve the process that was taught to me. Calling in radios on the way to the customer and building kits ahead of time, starting pulse activation while building the kits and programming instead of after installation, etc. If you are motivated by money and are not afraid of literary running up and down stairs, working without lunches and can stay on task all day long then this is the job for you. If you want to stand around talking to your buddies, checking your facebook and playing on your droid then this job is not for you. Stay hourly, stay in the union, complain about your wages, complain about having your job, LOL.

For me, being a sub for ADT was very rewarding. All the sales staff and office staff LOVED me because they knew if they had something pressing Gino could get it done. I worked a lot and made a lot of money. Being a Sub is not a chilling position. It does wear you out. But the money! .... I must add that I am a very gifted slacker. I could have been so much more, blah blah blah, but I simply enjoy working with my hands. I program a panel in 30 seconds because I remember all the fields without having to look at the keypad, but then again that shouldn't be difficult for anyone with a half of brain.

And no one promised me anything. I was told that I COULD make a lot of money. You don't expect to make a lot of money for doing nothing, do you? The amount of money is directly related to the amount of work you do, and that is what was most appealing to me. You do two jobs in a day and make 200 bucks - your boss is happy and you are doing OK. You do four jobs in a day and make 400 bucks - your boss is happy and you are well. Working hourly seems to never satisfy your management because it is never enough...

My hard work paid off in the end and I was asked if I was interested in getting hired in at the office as an ADT employee, making more than techs that have been there for 15 yrs.

Take it for what it's worth:

If you are willing to work hard to make a lot of money one week, and the next, and the next and so on you will become THE GUY. Doing twice the work got me twice as much money. Where most fail is they allow themselves to slow down after working hard for one week. Then the people cannot depend on you to get things done.

Salary and hourly positions offer little reward for me because working half as hard got me the same reward as working hard. One of the question I asked before taking the position at the corporate was "am I going to be allowed to work over time?" With a mutual understanding that my production numbers would not plummet - obviously I would not be allowed to work over time if I simply milked the clock.

Basically, if you want to make the money "they" promise, or even more, you have to work hard every day, whenever work is available. If you do that, then you will be making lots of money. I am one example of this.

  4. Glad to hear you guys made it home. I hope I wasn't going too slow for you guys. I wasn't trying to hit it too hard today....it had been over a month since the last time I rode and I couldn't get my rear tire to hook up today. I think Hutch might have seen my back end get loose once or twice.

I'd love to hook up at Mid Ohio...or have you guys come over again and hit SE Ohio. You're more than welcome to spend the night at my place.

Thanks, that's a great offer, and maybe I can take you up on that some time.

as far as your tire not hooking up... I looked at your tire and noticed that you are using all of the available patch (no chicken strips). riding on the edge of your tire on the street is quite unsafe due to oil and debris and other pavement inconsistencies. So to get the same speed in a turn with less lean you simply must get off the bike. Your body positioning was mentioned in a film called Twist Of The Wrist 2 by Keith Code. There is also a book out there that explains everything about suspension tuning. I would highly recommend watching and reading both, as well as reading the Basics of High-Performance Motorcycling, again, by Keith Code. I read those and watched the video several times and continue to get more information out of it every time.

Let me know if you need help finding any of the material. (it is available on youtube and as downloads for free, but I gladly paid for the original content, have to pay mr. Code his dues)

  5. I may have an opportunity to be hired on as an ADT installer, through TEK Systems (an IT staffing firm). Its piece work type pay, but as a W-2 employee, not as a 1099 sub. They are giving me ranges of what I could expect to make, but I'd much rather hear it from the horses mouth.

If anyone is willing to share their experience or input, (and assuming you dont want to share on a public forum) can you text me? 937-303-5555

    Thanks

I was a sub contractor for ADT and just got hired in at the Toledo office. Sending a text now...

  6. Hey fellas. Two guys from Toledo area here heading south tomorrow to hit some twisties. We were hoping to meet up with someone and tag along for a good ride. Two cbr's and hopefully enough skill from the track to keep up lol. Not familiar with the area, and hoping to avoid the traffic as much as possible. Depending on location, we should be there around 11-11:30.

Where are you guys meeting and what time?

  7. Hi guys, my name is Gino and I live in the Toledo area. I have been riding for 10 years and have two bikes. One is '07 CBR1000rr Repsol, which I ride on the street, and my track bike is an '03 GSXR600 Alstare. In the spring of this year I bought my wife a Rebel 250, which now has a whopping 50 miles on it!

I have met a couple of people from here at Indy Moto GP, but never really had a reason to sign up. Well, tomorrow morning, my buddy and I are heading down to Hocking Hills area to do some riding and thought it would be a good idea to get together with some locals who can show us some roads and help set the pace.

We plan on leaving at around 8 am and that should put us in the area around 11:30. If you are up for some riding and don't mind making a couple of new friends, please post up.
