  1. Cycle Vin is the only reliable way to go as it gives title history etc. I checked NCIB as well as a few other free sites bike came up as not stolen etc.  Lets just say it is not worth the hassle of dealing with the state police for purchasing/trying to sell stolen property.  The frame was stolen 5 years prior to me purchasing it .  I sold it,  two years after the person that bought it from me was trying to sell it and the state police showed up at his door and seized the bike.  I provided a notarized bill of sale with all my contact info so.....It came right back to me. It was very stressful trying to demonstrate that I had no knowledge that the frame was stolen which they didn't care as they took the whole bike.  I had to provide phone records and text messages between the seller and myself and try and identify people from mug shots.   It is amazing how shady some people can be.  The guy you are purchasing it from my be a stand up person but that doesn't mean the person he bought it from was.

  2. I have the AIM solo like Dan's cause well..........I wanted to be like Dan.  I like the AIM because it is very easy to set up and download data (more or less turn it on and go.  If the track is not in the database walk over to track edge hit learn new track, hit the add button name and your done).  Software for data review is easy to use and has a playback feature with tables so you can see your speed at certain points in a lap.  Ryan's GPS timer was great as long as you are willing to spend a lot of time getting it set up.  Took Ryan about a month to get his up and running.  But once he figured it out it worked well.  All in all he had about $225 in the set up with the phone etc.  The phone is a must have.  The first week he had it he spent his time between sessions downloading the data to his phone so he could see his lap times.  For what Dan is asking for the AIM is a really good deal.  I previously had the XT but if your planning on running with N2 they can be pretty lax about setting up a beacon and even when they did none of our timers ever picked it up.  Hence the reason we all went to GPS based.

  3. You guys are a bunch of girlie men.  Just go, worry about the consequences later.  In my quest to win the 2015 "Father of the Year Award"  i managed to miss Easter, my son's birthday, my wife's birthday, mothers day and labor day to go to the track.  Set precedence early on, by doing so it will just be accepted that your not going to be there on some recognized holidays, birthdays and such.  Keep in mind that your family or significant other will probably reach a saturation point.   Early warning signs are fiberglass insulation in your underwear or your tooth brush placed on or near the toilet. Take it from me gents my balls might itch like hell and my tooth brush may taste like shit.........but I'm going to Road Atlanta.

If that is your Sunday drive cornering I'd hate to be racing you on Saturday. I've never been on the track but I plan to give it a go once or twice this summer. I know there will be no photos of me cornering like you were in any of those I looked at. Makes me realize how much I have to learn at the ripe age of 40.

Your good I didn't start doing track days until I was 39.  Wish I would have started sooner.

I loved the pirelli front (and rear, really), but it does take some getting used to.  First time I rode it I thought I had a flat tire or my handle bars were loose or something! Haha

I really loved the glory hole on your kawi as did Soren :)

  6. Had a wonderful time at road Atlanta.  Managed to do a total of six laps in the rain on slicks.  Got ejected from a vehicle, broke my glasses.  Ryan got shut off at the bar.  Bill lost $200. Brandon had bike issues (but was the only one smart enough to bring rains) I think the only one that got away this weekend unscathed was Dan.      Quote of the weekend "Is that vomit"

  7. Unless the new owner self financed.  There is not a bank out there that would touch that property unless a Phase I  environmental assessment had been completed.  Which at a minimum would include wetlands delineation, potential liability regarding the tires, records regarding above and underground storage tanks. Once you buy it, the problems are yours.  We can all thank Love Canal for that one.

    He's a developer.

His house is 10 minutes from mine.

His maid housing is bigger that my house.

Jeff perhaps you should do some of his gardening.  Might get you some brownie points and free trackday!

I'm working on race strategy now... You guys in my class can count on me for all the free beer you can drink the night before! :D

    Looks like I need to buy a 250 :)

At the WERA round with Brandon this year I liked his toolbox enough that I had to go pick one up.

  11. Yes that was the one comment that just never seemed to make sense.

As far as bumping down, rules is rules (and when it comes to safety is good one) .  I'll just sign up in "I" and go from there. Ryan we will just have to postpone the 2016 Gopro passing compilation while at Mid O.  However it is on at Road Atlanta!   Unless of course I'm bloated from all the deer steak we ate, and hungover due to the "perfect mix" cup, then the morning sessions don't count.  As an added bonus passing while you screw with your lap timer in the morning won't count either. Dan you are not allowed to participate this year as you will above the horsepower limit of 135.

  12. So what about those of us that are already A riders with other groups such as N2  ( which already incorporate the bump  evaluation). and hold a Novice license and have ran in A last year but only did three days at Mid O in the previous season?

  13. Unfortunately N2 will not allow you to bump down a group for a few sessions or even the day.  When you bump down a group, will have to go through the whole bump up procedure again to get back to A.  Road Atlanta is an easy track to learn, If you decide to go don't worry one of us will give you a tow.
