Just this week, I should add. I am indeed a rookie.
-
Dropped mine twice in 2 days while working on it. But its all fuckered up anyway. So no biggy.

Never been with a group as a rider. Been on hundreds of poker runs as a passenger as a young teen. And I've been with a small pack riding locally. How familiar are you with group riding? My advice is choose a slower group to start, even if it seems to slow. There's less pressure and the ride more fun. When the time is right to go faster you'll know.
-
I'll stock in the medium pace group. Not sure about my buddy, he's a lunatic and might choose a faster group. But knowing that he is a little level headed, I would put my money that he will stick in the intermediate group just to feel the route out first time around. Will do. Maybe you'll have a bike for the next ride
Lets stick with the rest stop just south of Rt36 along I-75 so it's a quick on/off and there aren't any traffic/stoplights to contend with. Then we can get underway as soon you guys arrive so we can meet up with the group at CompAcc. I figure the wife & I will be to the rest stop about 630ish am to meet you, that would put us in Springfield about 715am to chit chat a bit before heading east.
Are you & your buddy planning to stick with our SW group in medium pace? I really dont want either of you pushing your limits and riding above your comfort levels.
-
We will wait at the finish if you chose to ride in a slower group during the epic ride. This way we all come back together.
Well thank you snot. I'll probably take my turn in a slower/intermediate group just because I don't know the area and I'm not the most confident person in the curves yet.

I wave at other sport bikes, unless I'm clutching. I hesitate to wave at Harleys until they wave first. Don't wave at scooters but I'm a can am fan and will wave at one. I rev my bike up for the kiddies on the sidewalk and wave to the ones in back of cars. And I yell perverted shit at sexy jogger chicks. I troll ricer Honda kids. And I'll nod at anybody in a car that takes the time to acknowledge me and/or gives me room on the road.

So i know there are a bunch of you guys taking over the gap later in May, but i am going this weekend for the first time ever. Im camping out because I am a cheap ass and don't feel like paying for a hotel. Anyone else making it down this weekend?
I'd love to go. But it would have to be something I plan a few weeks in advance.

First post edited for rider list and added secondary meet locale for other SWOhioan riders not wanting to meet at CompAcc.
Where do ya want to meet with us before slabbing to Springfield? The rest stop just south of Rt36 exit just for an easy on/off?
I know piqua very well so you guys can name the place, I'll be there. I have a friend that wants to ride with me as well..

Forever Yamaha... I think I'll be investing in a 2007 model r6 or r1. Whichever I find first. I just love that generation. I like the Daytona, its a sexy bitch. But too expensive for my shallow pockets. The Erik buell racing 1190rs would be a sweeeeet bike to have (carbon edition of course). Or the 2008 ducati 848. But those are just dreams.. I of course, will end up with the slightly abused Yamaha I buy used from some random craigslist ad.
-
I'm down one in the front, stock rear on my '01 r6. No wheelies, but I enjoy the faster acceleration. Only off 8% on the speedo, so the math isn't too bad.

First time. Bringing my bike up to the house. My neighbor comes outside and while I'm staring at her nice ass... Boom, too much front brake and down it goes. And then, riding around town showing off.. I get in a group of cars. Go to take off and show my ass.. Clunk. Stalled out right in front of everyone.

...not that I know what those look like or anything.
Lol. I scroll through those ads to get myself a good laugh from time to time.

Anyone riding today? Want to meet up somewhere on the west central to central part of the state? Call or text me, 9374898546. I'll be riding alone, waiting for one of you guys to fill this void in my riding life today.
-
Yeah, me too! 245 and 287 southwest of Bellefontaine are quite entertaining. There's a good 50 mile loop starting and ending in Marysville. Hit me up if you want to ride it sometime.
Meet up today? I'm going out in about an hour.. Hit me up if you want to meet up, anybody is welcome to call or text me, 9374898546

Somwthing I like to tell a newbie wanting to hit the epic ride. Go to youtube and searck ohio riders then check out the 2012 dream ride and the 2013 epic ride videos. Will kinda give you a feeler of what to look forward to. Plus doc puts together a great video along with dizzle dan and I am sure I am missing one.
Cool. Thanks.

Welcome! I moved hear from the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis in February!
Seems like most of the really good riding is southeast of Columbus. Even up near Marysville and Bellefontaine you can find roads more entertaining than most available in Minnesota.
I just took a route up to bucyrus not long ago, 47 to 7 something or other to 4. And 47 outside of bellefontaine has some pretty nice twisties. Better yet, 30 miles of my journey and I saw no traffic. Clean roads, minimal dirt, good clear view for most of it. Wanting to travel back that way some time. But I heard south/ southeast Ohio has the most beautiful roads. Lots of mountains and enough twisties to make you dizzy. Just need to find someone that knows the area...

Thanks guys for the welcomes.

Hey there :-) are you by Columbus? I'm off most weekends and would live to ride sometime.
I'm not very close to Columbus. But its not too far of a ride, I'm down for a meet up. Its about an hour away depending on what side of the city you live on.

Sounds good everyone. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to get my notifications from the forum to my phone yet so I've been just checking periodically. But I'm down to ride as long as work allows it.
-
If you want, meet up with Snot and I around Piqua and ride along with us to Springfield so we can congregate with the rest of the SWOhio group.
I'm down for that. Always better to ride with someone who knows what the hell is going on.
-
Thanks guys. Always good to be welcomed. I'm down for the epic ride. Snot, you want to ride this weekend? I have a buddy or 2 we can try to form a pack and put down some mileage. Maybe Friday?

Welcome. Newbie from Sidney (about a half hour north).
-
Thanks, man. Hope to get schooled by some of you pros on some of these meet ups. You interested in that swohio meet up coming up on the 17th?

What's up all? New guy here. New to the forum and this is my first season on a street bike as well. I am pretty lonely in my area as far as riding buddies go. I work often and work long hours, so its hard to hook up with the few guys I do know. Also, most of my friends are pussies and would get on a bike to pose for a picture, much less actually ride one. Since I'm pretty close to nowhere and most guys around the area are hardcore do or die Harley guys, since I'm on a sportsbike, I don't get often get acknowledged. So.. Who near me that is trying to meet up?
Well this looks yummy...
