  1. Have a new GL1800A. Came with intercom set up for Stereo/CB/Intercom. The Mrs. recently told me that she doesn't like to ride because she can't talk while we're riding. I'm looking for suggestions as to what product would go best with full face helmet for passenger and driver. Five pin Honda cords are in place, just need helmet gear. Interested in quality & features over cheap product. I would appreciate input from those experienced with the system. Thank you,

  2. The manual for the new Gold Wing only cautions to avoid "full throttle starts and rapid acceleration" for the 1st 300 miles.  Initial oil change at 4000 miles and then every 8000. I ignore the rapid acceleration part promptly after pick-up. My experience with every new car that I've owned is that following the break-in guidelines assures that the engine will be a dog. When I have ignore the guidelines the engine has run smooth and full power for much longer. Kind of my own empirical research.

  3. Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Turns out to be a beautiful Monday, although a bit chilly, so I think it may be time to get another fall ride going. The Cuyahoga Valley is beautiful in autumn - think I'll head that way and see where the road leads. Just need to be home in time to put dinner on the table for the Mrs.

  4. Thanks for the greetings. Yes it does seem like a Civic convertible. At 1st I scoffed at reverse as well, but my legs thank me daily for not backing it into the garage w/o using reverse......BTW I tossed the espresso maker for a hibachi - perfect for sashimi grade tuna lightly seared, with a sesame ginger glaze.

I will say that 400-500 miles at a shot is no problem and I can still walk the next day. Next year's goal is the ride around Lake Erie in a day. Anyone wanna join in would be welcome. May try for the Iron Butt.

  5. Greetings all ! Just found the forum. Recently upgraded to a 2014 Gold Wing 1800/A. Having a load of fun not spending time turning wrenches. Spending much more time riding. Always looking for a new run.
