  1. Wow, for some reason I didn't get a reply notification to this, so I didn't see any of this... 2talltim, I'll get you what info I can when I get home from work.

For everything else, shipped the t1200 to scorpion for repair. Going to let this ride on the boards until riding season gets close, then start listing stuff on ebay.

    Gear:

Scorpion T1200 Hi-Viz Freeway Size L w/ SENA 3s-W Installed: Barely used (about 100 miles) but the air-fit stopped working.  Everything else is mint and functions fine.  Still under warranty, so if it doesn't sell soon I'll get it repaired under warranty and then sell it.  -  $350 w/ SENA, can separate it out.

Speed and Strength SS700 Size XL: Come with clear and Smoke lens.  About a year old.  -  $55

Speed and Strength Speed Strong Jacket Size M: Jacket is in good shape.  About a year old.  -  $100

S&S Gloves Size M: Year old, good shape.  -  $25

Scorpion Guardian Gloves Size L: Year old.  Good shape, some stitching shows wear.  -  $60

Alpinestars ABLAZE jeans Size 32:  Comes with pads.  Good shape on all the slide points, but holes are wearing in the rub points on the inside of thighs.  - $75

TCX X-Cube Boots Size 9: Good shape, year old.  -  $65

Like I said, all prices are negotiable, I'm just ballparking everything.  Combining shipping is preferable, especially for the small items.

  3. So I got rid of the bike to do a down payment on a new car for the wife.  Stripped a bunch of stuff off it first though, so anything aftermarket is up for sale now.  Everything is located in Cleveland.  All prices are negotiable.

Detailed pics of everything can be found at this link:

    FZ6 Specific:

Stock 06 Windscreen:  Has some scratches, and holes from mounting the MRA X-Creen - $20

Givi Rear Rack w/ Box: Monokey rack in good shape, has all hardware minus the parts that go into the frame.  Givi quoted me between $20-$40 for the parts needed.  Box is just a basic 45L box.  No clue on the model, has both keys. - $175

    Generic Bike parts:

MRA X-Creen Tour Bolt-on: Comes with everything that came in the box.  Barely used (maybe 100 miles) might have a small scratch or two.  Has the drill guide, but it has been used. - $100

Battery Tender Junior: Eveything that came stock.  All fuses are good.  -  $25

Tire Plug Kit w/ Pump: Completely new, never used.  Mushroom plugs.  Tested the pump, functions great.  Runs off SAE, Cigarette Lighter, or aligator clips. -  $60

Crampbuster:  Is what it is...  - $5

Battery Tender USB Adapter: Works great, used to charge cell phone through the Tender leads.  - $10

RAM X-Grip Mount:  RAM Mount that goes over the tube handlebars with a standard size X-grip.  - $40

Helmetlok: Works great.  4-number code to open it. - $20

  4. Unless their policy has changed, State 8 doesn't allow road tests.

I was looking at a Star there, but they told me that, then let me turn the bike on and saw the brand new bike I wasn't allowed to test ride had over 100 miles on it, so I left.

  5. I think the biggest thing I don't like about the 10C is it's lack of video looping.  While the tagging feature seams nice, the fact that it only saves and records over 1 minute of footage at a time could be an issue.  If you're using the camera as a just in case for an accident like a lot of people do, you only have a short window to make sure you hit the button or that footage is lost forever.  Just seams like such an obvious feature to be missing..

  6. Just wanted to post a quick update. Unfortunately my wife decided to fail miserably at driving and cost us a couple thousand dollars in repairs, so no new helmet for me. I'm looking at alternatives now. The neck skirt mentioned looks like a possibility. I do notice a decrease in noise when covering my neck with my hand.

Thanks for all the help though

  7. Could the wind noise be due to the screen on the bike? When riding, can you deflect the wind with your hand and make the helmet quieter? Take your hand and put it against your neck, like you're choking yourself. A big bit of wind noise is caused by turbulent air from the fairing and screen. You may get away with just installing a skirt to your helmet.

I'll do some more troubleshooting on the windscreen on the way home today.  I know there are alot of issues with the FZ6 windscreen.  I've tried a couple of different configurations on the screen though, and nothing really helps.  I've also rode a few other bikes with the same issues of noise (ZX6, FZ09, V-Rod, C50) so I'm leaning heavily towards the helmet.

I did contact RD and they do have  ahell of a price on the RF1200.  I've got to head into a store so I can try it on and confirm my size.  By the sizing charts I should be a large, but I still want to check.

  8. Thanks Crazy. I looked into that, but the cost would be $40 for the pads when the helmet only cost $80 new. It was always my intention to upgrade helmets relatively quickly, but life got in the way. This is probably going to be my best opportunity for a while.

  9. Make sure you get the right size, most people get one to big then bitch that they are loud.

I'm really going to focus on this, trust me.  I bought the first helmet in a bit of a rush, and while it fit fine initially, it broke in at about 200 miles and became way too loose (and continues to get looser.)  It's a big part of why I'm replacing it right now.

  10. Sadly not Columbus, I'm in Cleveland.  Best selection I've seen is State 8 in Cuyahoga Falls.  I'd love to make a trip down to Iron Pony, but I won't have time to in the next couple months unless I can squeeze a stop into my work schedule.  I'm really looking for some advice on where to look.  Plus, trying on doesn't really help tell me the noise level of the helmets.  Fit only goes so far.
