SkullCrusher, I'd say nothing is beyond rebuilding but it's pretty bad. The rod has let go & practically cut the 4th cylinder off, so wieghing options. The rods are discontinued thru Kaw as well.

Looking for a suitable replacement for 2001 ZX-7R engine. By suitable I mean in clean running condition & of approximate year. Just putting feelers out to see what you guys may come up with, thanks in adavance for any leads.

Some pc's change fuel mapping, ignition timing, few sensor inputs... when needed. What about the ability to adapt these values for the changes a rider is going to make? To get close with a singular reflash, add the rest of the custom programming... sounds awesome. But how close, consistantly? If you're doing just the typ filter & pipe, could it be easier to get a one & done reflash? Both being ideal, but more $$.

Hey guys, I'd like to get some feedback on this topic. Anecdotal, specific facts, etc... what has been your experience with having your ecu reflashed (Ivan's, Rexxer, Guru...) vs going thru a specific process of buying a power commander (or bazzaz, cobra, etc)  & dyno tuning?

This is a broad question to see what's out there. A Google search didn't pull up much in our area. I have run into parents who do not ride themselves & have children who would like to learn. As well as new riders who would like someone with more experience to guide their kids first hands.

Hey guys, I'm looking for information on youth riding classes around ohio or resources to teach young kids how to ride. I came across some info online, but looking more for a place that parents could take their kids to ride & recieve professional instruction. Has anyone heard of anything like this around our area?

What's this for? I can tell you the flat rate hours 7 then it just depends on the shop's hourly rate. Typically I see around 3-4 hours for fork seals on the bike. For example it's 2.1 hours per side for 2000 Katana 750...

I misspoke when I said "per side" here also.

Forgive me gentleman, I have not done my due diligence in clarifying this information to address your concerns... As stated, 2.1 hours is for one complete fork rebuild, as I'm sure you guys can picture, once one fork is off there's nothing to getting the second fork off. The flat rate is not doubled here, the other fork is literally an additional 0.3 hours.

MidgetTodd, thanks for the heads up. If you decide that you would still like to do them yourself, but with some help, my resources remain open to you. For clarification, that's at no charge. I understand that you guys have long standing members who have proven their worth, in time you guys will see that I personally bring a lot of value to the table.

Is that blowing your guys' minds...? I don't know how familiar you are with flat rates or how dealerships come up with their prices but it's a standardize time based off of warranty from Suzuki, in the example I gave above. I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet not.  It's also to replace all internal components.This isn't a statement as to how long it would take, what I would charge, etc. etc... It's an easy way to know what shops will charge, if you know their hourly rate... That's all.

It also lists 12.8 hours to replace rod bearings in a 2007 ZX-10R, if you guys can do better/charge less/etc... That's cool too.

I don't personally charge that much for fork seals on standard right side up forks, no. But that's the flat rate listed to rebuild one side, I don't make this stuff up.
