  1. The fabric in my Arai is way softer than my Shoei, but my Shoei is quieter. Both are great, was just getting my forehead rubbed raw from sweat in the Shoei.

I have purchased 3 HJC CL-17s though. Nothing fancy but they pass DOT, come in around 100-150 and have had 0 issues with them. Actually, I got one from RidersDiscount.

  2. Hey guys! My girlfriend and myself are having a barbecue at our place. The get together has a vague start time of 2PM on the 1st of July. Thats the Saturday before 4th of July. Happy to have anyone local stop by for a drink and a burger. I have no real end time, if its cool enough I will start a fire and probably be smoking cigars all day.

We will be buying beer, soda and water. I believe I will be making sangria as well. I plan on grilling hotdogs, burgers and brauts. My girlfriend will be making vegetarian friendly things since shes a picky eater. So probably kebabs, mac and cheese and some other stuff!

A handful of my local riding friends will be attending, so most likely we will be doing a bit of riding around town and some back roads before drinking.

Im happy to have anyone over who would like to pop in for a bite to eat, a cold drink or smoke a cigar!

PM me for the address and my number if interested!

I have ear plugs and a new helmet.  I bought a Shoei GT-Air which is built for a naked bike like mine and is worlds quieter than my RF-1200.  I used to think my RF-1200 was quiet until I rode with the GT-Air - what a difference.  I have no-noise ear plugs that filter out noise (wind, etc) but still allow you to hear music thru a Sena.  I recommend the ear plugs as well as the helmet.

Which earplugs do you have? I use these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019M576XW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The girl I took the trip with is pretty popular on Instagram.  I'm new to Instagram but connected with a lot of girls on the site after meeting them.

Just over 4 days, a little more than 1300 miles, 4 states, & 2 countries.  4 women, 2 Ducati Monsters, 1 Yamaha R6, & 1 Silverado carrying a Supermoto and all the rest of our gear.  Unfortunately our trip contained a crash not long after we crossed into Canada from MI, and after a 5 hour delay at a hospital we continued on without our injured rider.  Luckily she only suffered broken bones and road rash... it could have been much worse - the whole thing happened almost right next to me and was very surreal.

Once we arrived at the event, there were bikes everywhere at the campground (all kinds from old Royal Enfields to BMW GS1200s to Triumph Scrambers to Harley cruisers and a few supersports).  There were 550 women that arrived for a weekend of camping, free drinks, karaoke, live bands and some really beautiful riding thru the Catskills of NY.  The weekend was perfect for riding, until Sunday when we left for home.  We left early trying to beat a storm, but still hit downpours thru PA that soaked us completely thru our raingear, so we had to stop to dry out and wait for the storm to pass.

This was an epic journey for me as I've never taken a motorcycle trip, let alone go camping, all with women I'd never met in person either.  I had such a great time meeting women riders from different states and going on my first all women group ride (there were 15 of us)!  It was a blast and I hope to go back.

And, yes there were lesbians there...

Glad the one who had a spill is ok! Sounds like a good time!

Did you meet any of the internet famous ladies out there? Lot of girls I follow on instagram were going to the event as well!

I went to try on gear,

I tried this jacket on https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/cortech-vrx-air-jacket

The stores here dont really have a big selection of jackets. Most of the jackets were for touring type bikes.

All textile. The leather jackets they had were not summer and looked like the type you would find at a dept store for normal wearing.

Not really any boots could try on, had one or two touring boots no perforation. Small selection of gloves, well at least with armour and for street bikes. Mostly gloves for motocross, etc.

No pants except for chaps and touring pants which looked baggy and hot. Lol.  One pair of bike jeans but didnt have any kevlar inside.

Tried a R3, well sat on it.  Fits well.  Tried a FZ07, well sat on it. And it fit well too.Saw acouple of 250 bikes from Suzuki, a ninja  one from 2011 I think and something else not sure what it was.

Saw a Joe rocket jacket that was mesh and textile. Most of the sleeve was textile except for the inner upper arm were it vented I guess. The front and back were mostly mesh with textile on the top and bottom and sides. Looked nice, with armour but as I read, mesh isnt very good for protection? Why do they continue to sell mesh jackets if it is not so good at protection?

The salesman said that the FZ07 is good because it is only 300cc or something like that he said. It did feel light as did the R3.  He said that the FZ07 has a linear power band so it is easier to get used to.

Want to start buying gear but maybe have to order online.

I really think you should just go with me to look at these things lol

  7. As a previous FZ07 owner and having an FZ07 as my first bike, I will give you some advice.

Dont buy it as your first bike.

The throttle is not for giving, its either off, or its really on. Thats something I didnt learn to control for a while after buying it and I wish I had started on something else. There were many questionable unintended accelerations.

Its a great bike. Just not a great first bike.

I have been reading what everyone has said. lol

So with the gear, I have found some textile jackets with armour from 130 dollars up to 300 dollars.

    This any good?

Whats the biggest difference in these jackets? 100 dollars-300 dollars?

Very cool. I'm glad it worked out for you guys. Ride safe!

Really appreciate it! It was literally EXACTLY what she wanted. Other than a gear shift indicator, which she will learn she doesnt need. Such a spot on call!

I just lubed the clutch, that was the only thing bad about it, and its 100% flawless now.
