  1. Went through this a year ago, and for new models it holds true that you get what you pay for.

We ended up with a NordicTrack Commercial 1750 (just a higher-end residential unit) during a good sale. It is a rather large and heavy unit, however, so may not fit your needs (it does fold and roll). With lighter/smaller units you're most certainly sacrificing in components and durability. We've had cheaper models and wanted something that would last this time around.

  2. Tell me about the Milwaukee M12 Impact gun. I found a really good deal on one ($115) but have been holding back on pulling the trigger because it's an M12 and not an M18. Guy in the store said he doubted it would remove a lug nut but I don't think he had enough experience with them.

My M12 stubby can remove lug nuts torqued to ~90 ft/lbs, but if there's any corrosion or other mess it'll struggle.

I'm planning on picking up the new M18 mid-torque for lug nuts and similar applications, but will keep using the M12 stubby anything less than that.

  3. Hey Carl, somewhat on topic, did you have to file an improvement claim request with Orange Township zoning or anything? I want to expand my driveway as well and have been wondering the opposite of you if zoning would complain instead of my HOA.

FYI - The Residential Permit Cheat Sheet on the following page is pretty helpful on this topic and suggests that a permit is required for a driveway extension. I'm in Orange Township as well, and while I haven't had to personally work with the Zoning Board/Department, I've heard they are reasonable and helpful.

  4. I got one of these a few years back cause it seemed cool, was $90 during some Amazon sale.

The idea is alright, but in reality it is bigger, slower to open, and louder than I expected. Regardless, I'm not sure what other, better options there are nowadays.

  5. Morgan, I have a YardMachines Y2560 trimmer

It does have a coupler in the middle of the shaft, held together with a bolt. Any idea if these are compatible?

    Yo!

I took a look at the parts diagram for your model and don't think they'll work. These need a square receiver in the upper shaft, and it looks like yours has the receiver in the lower shaft instead.

  6. Various Troy-Bilt TrimmerPlus Add-Ons. Compatible with a variety of different power heads, not just Troy-Bilt:

    -Hedge Trimmer (https://www.troybilt.com/en_US/trimmerplus/ah721-trimmerplus-add-on-hedge-trimmer/41BJAH-C902.html#start=5)

-Cultivator (Mine is an older model - https://www.troybilt.com/en_US/trimmerplus/gc720-trimmerplus-add-on-cultivator/41BJGC-C902.html)

    -Blower/Vac (https://www.amazon.com/troy-bilt-bv720r-trimmer-blower-attachment/dp/b00004r9r8)

I got these used a few years ago and someone stole my trimmer head before I could use them, so I have no idea how well they may work.

    $40 for all three.

Mounted on B6 Audi Cabriolet Wheels (17x7.5, 5x112, 45mm offset) with a good amount of curb rash; mounting tabs are broken on 2 of the center caps; see pics

One tire/wheel has a slow leak, but I could not find any punctures. My best guess is corrosion and could be cleaned and remounted. It was slow enough that I just topped off every week/few days and lived with it.

I bought each of the tires and wheels used and had them on my 07 A4 for 2 winters; have had a company car for a few years now and rarely drive the Audi."

Pick up in Delaware (Orange Township) or I can meet you around here or northern Columbus.

  9. Do you have any additional pictures of the tire tread? Any patches/repairs to the tires?

Sorry for the delay, I will get some more pictures of the tread(s) tomorrow afternoon.

No patches or repairs from my use, and I am pretty certain there were not any when I picked them up (cannot say 100%). I will see if there are any obvious repairs tomorrow and let you know.

  11. This time of the year isn't helping your search either, as any decent commercial mower will be in use and/or demand top dollar. Stay diligent and something will come up from a company shutting down or homeowner moving.

Just to add another Craigslist datapoint:

Picked up April this year - 2013 Exmark Lazer S-Series, Kohler EFI, 52" deck. 1,500 hours, $2,500. It isn't pretty, but mechanically it is solid (municipality/school owned and maintained).

I was finding plenty of 60" Lazers with ~2,000 hours for between $2,500-3500 at the time and the main challenge was assessing condition, as you're finding. If you can wait till the off-season you can do pretty well.

Side note - I had sold myself on a new Scag Tiger Cat before this, so I understand your dilemma. I have no regrets and really like the old Lazer now though.

  12. Yeah, that's what I'm finding. I like the fact that having a new one I would have a warranty, but hate the price tag that comes with it. I'm just going to keep looking. Maybe I'll get lucky.

  13. I've got an Amcrest setup that I've been growing. Can be a bit involved to setup and get used to the interface, but provides plenty of customization for a consumer system.

I can combine PoE and wifi cameras, and record to a local NVR with a 6tb drive (even from my wifi cams).

Price is a bit higher, but you can always start with a camera or two and add-on later.
