Up for sale is my 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS. It is SS number 15, has 177k miles, and is a six speed manual (car in sig). Asking $4000

 

Modifications/repair: Pacesetter headers/y-pipe (w/EGR), LTCC ignition conversion with MSD LS1 blaster coils, electric water pump, Lou’s short stick, LT4 knock module, AIR system removed, newer battery tray/coolant overflow, new battery, new fuel injectors, newer optispark, Trick Flow intake elbow, throttle body air foil, throttle body coolant bypass, K&N air filter (ram air), K&N oil filter, Royal Purple oil (freshly changed), Hurst shift knob, tinted windows, and practically new spark plugs/wires (less than 1k miles).

 

Options: limited slip axle (no traction control), CD player, Bose system, t-tops, leather interior, and pw windows/locks. It comes with 2 sets of floor mats (one set has Z28 SS embroidered, never used), car cover, t-top shades (not installed), SS documentation, SS plate key chains, and SS plate on console.

 

The paint is decent, there are few small scratches, the rear bumper is somewhat faded, and there is a small paint gouge in the driver front fender. The interior is clean and in great shape, there is a little bolster wear on the driver seat, and a crack in the dash pad.

 

I have all original parts and about 98%+ of documentation for repairs/parts/etc including those of the previous original owner. I also have a brand new LuK clutch never used or installed, spare valve covers in great shape, extra water pump, manual fan switch not installed, headlight covers not installed, extra driver side windows/lock/mirror panel with modules, LT1 cam/water pump/crank seal install kit, spare stock LT1 cam, and spare LT1 block. You will probably need a truck or SUV for some of the parts, particularly the spare block and stock exhaust.

 

The only major problem appears to be a worn cam lobe on the exhaust side of cylinder #7. The rocker appears visually and feels that is doesn’t travel as far as the others. This causes the car to miss when it gets warm or during city driving. When on the highway, it seems to clear up and run normal most of the time. I think this is the problem but I don’t have the time or money to do things I wanted to do (rebuild block for boost). It will also need 2 font tires soon and the driver side window/lock/mirror panel will not stay set in the door. I have a few extra parts that should fix it. The air conditioning isn't working but I think it just needs recharged as the compressor runs fine.

 

I have always run a K&N oil filter with either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple, and a bottle of fuel system cleaner each oil change. I usually try to run Sunoco 94, but have also run 93. I have used only Zaino products (wax, tires, interior), but haven’t clay bar’d/waxed it since late last year. I did have it dyno’d when it was completely stock and have the dyno print out (271 hp & 301 lb ft).

 

I bought the car on eBay from a Ferrari, Porche, and Maserati dealer in Greensboro, NC with around 127k miles on it. I was told the previous owner (original owner) traded the car in on a $200k Maserati. It looks as though they bought and paid for the car well before it was produced, which can be seen from the documentation and the low SLP number (15). Based on the extensive service records, it appears that it was well taken care by the previous owner.

Well with being a low number car, having nearly 100% of the documentation, and a good bit of spare parts (clutch/block/waterpump) I don't think it's too far off the mark. Regular Z28 (LT1) models still go in the $3k-$5k range, and this car is definitely more rare.

 

There are plenty of high mile f-bodies on CamaroZ28.com (some well over 200k) running around in modified or near stock form hitting the drag strip regularly with no problems. Mileage shouldn't be too much of an issue for LT1's, especially since 90% of the miles I put on it were all highway.

 

Also, for the optispark fearing people I have installed the LTCC ignition system. This system bypasses the high voltage that would normally pass through the opti, which extends the life of the opti much, much longer. Now the opti is only a sensor and not a distributor/sensor. So you won't have to spend hundreds on a new opti for a long time. The LTCC also has an input for nitrous/boost timing retarding (2 step adjustable) and manual rev limiter for which you can set.

 

I'm not in a position where I have/need to sell. If no one bites at or near my asking price, thats perfectly fine as it will sit until I have the time to complete it.

COULD happen, but that is a less likely scenerio as all the other countries are going to be in the same situation as us. If this was JUST the U.S. going through this, then yes, hyperinflation out the ass... but in the actual real situation we are in, we may actually see a long period of deflation.

 

It will hurt us more for many reasons.

 

One, because we are a consumption country. Over 70% of our GDP is consumption. You can only consume so much. We produce much less, nearly on a daily basis.

 

Two, Asian countries have much higher levels of production. We are inflating to price fix the costs of homes, which is obvious the market is rejecting.

 

Three, we have large deficits. We have large government spending deficits, with record deficits expected for next year, and trade deficits.

 

Four, we our military is spread all over the world costing nearly $1 trillion to sustain. That does not account for the Iraq war either. Not to mention very little of our military is here to really protect us.

 

Five, we have spread ourselves very thin and on top of that are devaluing our dollar. Look to the fall of Ancient Rome, Germany in the 1930's, Zimbabwe currently and past few years, even the Continental currency during the revolution. All have strong similarities to what we are doing.

 

Six, countries like China and Saudi Arabia loan us money. They have savings while we as a country live on credit. Even recently the Chinese government is telling their banks not to lend to us. If they have money to lend and we don't, who is going to be hurt more? Link

 

No way we will see deflation, we will have inflation (which will increase more rapidly) by the very definition of the word. Definition Where is the $700 billion bailout, the previous approximate $700 billion bailout, and the $25 billion bailout money coming from? Our country is $9 trillion in debt but yet we are putting money into the economy, we are doing that by printing money, which by definition is inflation. We are going to inflate much faster because of not only bailing out companies but we are taking on bad debt.

 

We have unsound monetary policy and as history has shown, all fiat money eventually ends.

But if other countries that hold our dollars were to get rid of them, by pouring them back into circulation, it would certainly devalue the dollar. Not to mention all of the money to be printed for all of the bailouts.

What about people who are disabled and can not work? My uncle has a very bad physical deformity all over his body that make most people cringe when they see him. It is not contagious. He used to work in a factory for over 10 years straight. The only people that saw him were co-workers. Well they closed the plant. He tried getting a job after that but couldn't. No one said it was because of how he looked but who would?

 

So should he not have free health care and disability?

 

While I feel sorry for people like your uncle, but freedom = self responsibility. Why should his health be my financial problem? If you want to help him with your own money thats fine, but requiring me to pay taxes to help him that I have a problem with.

Yuck it up all you want gun'ofiles, there's allot wrong with what the guy did, strategically and ethically. Excessive force; guilty as fuck.

 

First off what you don't understand is that criminals by definition disobey laws. So if someone plans to or does break a law, having another law to keep that person from breaking the previous law is irrational. There are nearly 90 million gun owners that didn't kill anyone that day, this case if proven that the homeowner is guilty, is statistically insignificant.

Third, its very easy for you or I to be a Monday morning quarterback on a short paragraph description of what happened. We all see media bias everyday, how can you possibly know what is printed is the whole truth?

 

Fourth, how do can you possibly know exactly what the homeowner saw/perceived? You are making grand assumptions for which you have no basis.

I graduated last year with my M.E. from the Univ. of Akron. An idea I haven't seen mentioned is if you want to be more hands on problem solving with less of the theoretical aspect, you could look into a engineering technology. Not sure if OSU has anything similar, but Akron has that program. It gets you more in depth in manufacturing processes with just enough theory to still be an engineer (for the mechanical engineering technology at Akron). At Akron is it is also a 4/5 year program, depending on if you co-op.

This country would go into a deep depression if they didn't bail them out.

 

Depression is much better than complete monetary system failure and since the US dollar is basically the reserve currency of the world, it will be a big global downturn.

These took effect on the 8th of this month. Just an update for those that want to know.

 

Changes to Ohio's concealed-weapons law taking effect today:

• Permit holders may keep a gun hidden in a vehicle as long as it is in a secure holster. The law previously required the gun to be in plain sight.
  

 

Not true, the plain sight wording was fixed April/May of 2007. The plain sight stipulation is for being in a container which doesn't have a lock.

 

If you have a concealed handgun license you have to carry it in a holster on your person or in a closed container that has a zipper/latch/etc.

 

The new law also provides for a legal way for non-CHL holders to transport a handgun in the car. Before this law technically there was no way to transport one legally.

 

(a) The loaded handgun is in a holster on the person’s person.

 

(b) The loaded handgun is in a closed case, bag, box, or other container that is in plain sight and that has a lid, a cover, or a closing mechanism with a zipper, snap, or buckle, which lid, cover, or closing mechanism must be opened for a person to gain access to the handgun.

 

© The loaded handgun is securely encased by being stored in a closed glove compartment or vehicle console or in a case that is locked.
