I have received a lot of PM's about the car. At this point, I am going to stop answering all of the PM's on various forums as I have a line of people calling dibs. So there are various meetings set up through the week. I will update the status in the thread over the coming days as to whether the car is still available after the first wave of people see it.

FS: 03 EVO I am parting ways with my 2003 EVO. I am the original owner. Mileage is at 79,850 The overall exterior and interior is in decent shape. The car was daily driven by my wife for about its first four years. The past 4 years, it has pretty much sat in the garage and just comes out every once in a while as we both have other daily vehicles. The car has always been garaged its complete history. The car currently has a set of Dunlop M3 snow tires mounted on it with a decent amount of life left. I also have a set of all season tires that I’ll throw in with the purchase. Mods · Buschur Racing full turbo back exhaust · Buschur Racing race core FMIC and full stainless piping from the turbo to the throttle body · Tial BOV · Walbro 255hp fuel pump · Forced Performance FP4r cams · AEM cam gears · Buschur Racing mini battery kit · Buschur Racing speed density Turbo pipe/k&N filter · AEM EMS set up for speed density (tuned by myself) · AEM boost control solenoid · AEM UEGO wideband setup with cockpit gauge · AEM serial data stream cockpit gauge · Exedy Twin Disc Clutch The Good The car has been VERY mechanically sound its whole life and has given me no issues. Nothing of significance has ever been repaired on it. The head has never been off. Neither the intake nor exhaust manifolds have ever been off. Even the stock turbo has never been unbolted. The timing belt was changed at 70,000 miles. At this time, the aftermarket cams and gears were put on. The balance shaft belt was also replaced as well as the pulleys and tensioner. The car has only been to a drag strip once. It was May of 2009 up in Norwalk. The car went 11.98 at 117.xx with a soft 1.7 60’. I didn’t care at the time to push it any further. Back in 2004 and 2005, it saw 1 trip each year to Mid Ohio and ran at a Porsche PCA driving school. The Issues · The car needs a clutch. It has been slipping for a number of years at WOT. Because I just putz the car around town, I have never felt the desire to replace it. It is fine for driving around lightly but it does slip under medium load and up. The Exedy twin was put in shortly after the car was purchased so it has given me over 75,000 miles of use. So I have no complaints. · The reverse syncro is going. The car grinds going into reverse. I haven’t dealt with it since I figured I would just replace it whenever the clutch was done. I just usually start the car in reverse when I know I’m backing up. Lol. All forward gears are fine and the car shifts great. · Brake pads are grinding a little. I think it is the rear but I have not pulled the wheels off to inspect · The rear trunk deck has a significant rust spot under the wing (on the driver’s side). This has been there for a long time and just something that I never had the desire to have a body shop deal with. The actual wing and carbon fiber is in good shape compared to most EVOs that I see out there this old. I hate to see the car go but it honestly just sits here and I could use the space. I’m trying to aggressively price the car at $11.5k OBO under the assumption that the new owner will need to deal with the clutch issue. I contemplated changing the clutch and selling it but my thought is to sell it much lower and let the new owner put exactly what they want in it. The car ran on E85 and 1000cc injectors for a number of years. I have since switched it back to gas and stock injectors. I am willing to sell the car with either map and injectors depending on the new owner’s preference. Pics can be seen here: http://www.dqracing.com/EVOforsale/ Thanks for looking!

I have been an allergic mess all my life. No food allergies, just environmental. I perpetually was sick as a little kid. I was always getting bactrial infections and pneumonia a few times. At age 5, I got put in the hospital because they didn't know why I was so sick all the time. This was 1980 and the notion of allergy treatment was seen as pretty "voodoo" back then. But this older allergist walked in and told my parents that I have bad allergies. I started the process back then and it completely changed me. After about a year of shots, my symptoms reduced to a manageable level. The biggest thing for me though was that I hardly got sinus infections and sick through my teen age years. I continued shots until around age 20 when I moved to C-bus. Everything bad started happening again... I have basically dealt with getting sick and chronic issues for 15 years. But I finally wised up and went back to an allergist (Midwest Allergy as mentioned here). I have only been back on the shots for 2 months but am glad that I wised up. When the doctor looked at my back after the skin test, her reaction was hilarious: "wow you weren't kidding. you really are allergic to everything" lol

I've had the 2.0l 6 bolt block sitting in storage the past few years that was last ran in my 2g up until 2008. I've been holding onto it as a spare block for the DQ 1g. I'm going to be making a move soon and am starting to clean out the garage. The block isn't coming to the new home with me so its going up for sale. Its a 2.0l .020 over block that was done by Tym Switzer. It is hard blocked meaning the coolant passages are filled for extra cylinder reinforcement. Meaning, this isn't something you put in a street car. The engine was fine when removed from my car when I decided to part it out. The short block was torn down and inspected by Tym. Everything checked out fine with cylinder roundness and the block was just held onto by us as a backup. Comes with main caps and balance shaft bearings blocked off. Taking offers

A 400whp/stock motor EVO will last a long time if tuned correctly

When you key the car on, a low side driver from the AEM pulses the pump to prime. There is a slight delay so you do want to always wait and not just immediately turn the starter over in one fast motion. But... Its just coincidence that it started for you a few times on the first crank. It is completely related to the cam trigger and where it is in relation to the engine position. There is nothing you can do about the inconsistent amount of cranking time if you run the stock trigger wheel and an AEM.

Those HKS272 grinds are very mild and not costing you much down low. The clutch that is in that car is just pretty goofy feeling compared to something like an Exedy twin. Its fine once you get used to it but it is very grabby and hard to modulate. You can tear up your drive train really quick if you're not careful. Also, if you want the car to go faster then I wouldn't worry about changing cams. Any cam change you make is going to very marginal for the money/labor spent. Put a real turbo on it if you want noticeable gains. That all it really needs to run low 11s.
