  1. I'm not so sure about that. I'm betting a rebel militia could cause one hell of a mess for the US military.

The Afghans pretty much fended off the Russians with a large pile of rocks.

i agree, the key however is communication. the govn't will try to label us as terrorists and pic us off one by one starting with the biggest threats the ones that are the easiest to sell (with the help of the media) as dangerous or terrorist organizations.

and no matter what the truth is they will always put a spin on it so their actions seem justified.

it's the war with no front lines that scares me the most.

how are we going to be able to communicate when they shut off cell phones and internet.

how many of us really have short wave/ham radios?

    p.s. i'm buying this

  2. IMI is Israeli Military Industries. They manufacture weapons (among other things) for the Israeli Defense Force and used to make semi-auto Galil rifles for export to the US back in the 80's. A quality organization, or used to be anyway.

IWI (Israeli Weapons Industries) used to be the small arms division of IMI until they were purchased from the Israeli government by a private company in 2005.

    you beat me to it.

  3. Ohio Valley

    $10 for the range rental

    $10 to rent first gun

    $5 a gun after that

    +1 except it's south east

I just got an XDm 4.5" and love it so far. I plan to buy a nice 1911 sooner or later (Sig Sauer/Kimber)

what happened to your SR1911? I think thats the best bang for the buck.

  4. Those who do not yet own an AR should go buy one. those who already have some will pass.

I wouldn't buy one to go to war. but, i would buy one to bury outside.

the fact these are pre-obamaland prices are a big plus.

  5. i spent about a month researching mags and all the reviews, extended reviews and torture tests. pmags were the only ones that were consistently reliable enough to justify buying them.

it seemed other mags would have really good reviews on one site then bad reviews on another.

the only issue with pmags is with 30 rounds some of them wont lock in place with the bolt closed.

  6. i think most "gun" people will simply keep what they have bought instead of flooding the market when this blows over. but the people who only bought an AR because they thought the oppotunity to buy one might go away. i think those people will be selling theirs as soon as they can or when they need money.

i've wanted more AR's for awhile i've just used this as my reason to pull the trigger :)

i'm 99.9% sure this ban will not happen but i was also 99% sure a gun ban would have never gotten this far.

the stockpiles of ammunition is what i'm hopping people will be getting rid of when this blows over.

  7. Last night I went to Vances to look at all these different opinions. They didn't have shit. The p3at and the p238 was all they had. The guy helping came off as a dick head and talked over me 4 different times so I decided not to buy shit. The one Sig that they had was with a laser on the front but some really gay grips. I don't know if I want to invest that much into a pocket "beater". Part of me would rather spend a couple hundred more and upgrade to the Kimber solo if I was going to do that. This guy talked so much shit about the kel tec and .380 calibers that it talked me out of buying. I think I need to go back and talk to someone different.

When walking down the street it's better to have a .380 in your pocket then a .45 in your glove box. just make sure you get the critical defense ammo.

if your looking to try out an LCP your welcome to borrow mine.

  8. Thought I would go a different direction with a gun thread. The most disliked, and why. I'm sure not all will agree, but state your reasons and maybe someone agrees. Maybe someone is considering buying a gun you dislike and doesn't know it has the issues you experienced.

For me, it's the Ruger LCP .380. This little gun just doesn't do it for me. I had one and it worked as it should. Except the issue with failure to feed. I feel the angle to the chamber from the magazine is too steep for hollow points. I did some work on the feed ramp to reduce the angle and it only helped a little. So i decided to just use ball ammo. It was ok, but still had issues from time to time.

Aside from that, this small hand gun produces a lot if recoil. I know how it's put together. I understand why it does kick as it does. I just don't like it. I have seen several people get this as their first gun and not have much time shooting anything before it. Yet, this is the gun they have now. It's a challenging little gun to try and hit the target.

i've never had any failure to feeds in mine, my dads, or my cousins LCP. did you try polishing the feed ramp?

the gun i was most displeased with was a beretta PX4 storm that my sister bought. the trigger was all wrong. (ive had sling shots with less resistence and length of travel) the firing pin hit close to the edge of the primer, if didn't fit the hand, it was heavy, it was thick, she sold it a few months after buying it.

  9. LCP with the crimson trace laser.

get the blackhawk pocket holster size zero i believe then cut the stitching out to allow the laser to fit. the gun looks like a wallet in your pocket and you can get your whole hand around the grip with the gun still in the holster.

you don't want to have to move your trigger finger to turn a laser on and off. so bodyguard was a NO for me.
