So it looks like removing the front plate didn't pass but it did make it a secondary offense while parked. So that isn't very helpful but I'm sure some people who don't run them will not get as many tickets parked downtown. This action was in the house.

 

There is another bill in the Senate the would make this a secondary offense while driving and lower the cost of the fine as well. This I think has a better chance of passing. Probably still wotnt pass and yeah it comes up every year. They should just be done with it and get rid of that requirement but such is life.

Yeah I don't see this happening either, just figured I'd share the news that someone gave me. Would be great if it happened as I just bought a new car and rather not drill into the bumper. One can dream.

Just found out about this on Facebook through the local news station. I emailed everyone on the finance committee urging them to allow the removal of the requirement for a front license plate.

Is it located in the same area. I haven't even looked yet. I know where the hazard relay was on my 95.

Yeah my running lights work. I'll have to check on the relay thing and see if there is a seperate on for my turn signals. Now that you mention it I had a 95 formula that had the 4 way flashers do the same thing and I changed a relay under the dash.

Well it looks like it may not be the switch. So here is what happens.

 

When I hit the switch in either direction, the light on my dash stays solid, then starts to flicker really really fast. The outside lights don't do anything. The switch will click in the on position on either side and will return to the normal position when the steering wheel turns.

 

But when I hit my hazard switch on my car. All my lights blink like they should..

 

So could it still be the turn signal switch that is screwed up?

Hello. I needed help on changing my turn signal switch in my 1998 Trans am. Didn't know if it was difficult removing the steering wheel and changing this switch out or not, before I take it to a dealer and have them do it.

So I have my cover, just curious if I need to apply some rtv to the outside of the gasket?

 

Also is there a torque spec on these bolts? I don't have a manual handy to tell me if I need to torque them down.

I called that company that had those covers. It looks like it's going to be another 2 weeks before they have the covers in stock, looks like I'm going to need to get some GM additive and gear oil today to keep me stocked for a while.

The only thing I can think of is that they jacked the car up under the diff and a lip of the jack may have caught the cover? Other than that I have no clue.

Hello, I had a out of town shop fix my rear pinion seal in my 98 Trans Am and they bent up the rear diff. cover. I posted in the For Sale forums to purchase one, but I was just asking how feasible it would be to try and hammer it back in place.

 

I've been adding fluid to it because I don't drive it more than once a week, but any help or advice would be appreciated. (Besides going back to that shop.... lol)

Hello, I had an un-named shop replace the rear pinion seal in my 98 Trans Am car while I was out of town and I found out a few days later that they bent up the bottom part of the Diff cover on the back of my rear end. I was wondering if anyone had one lying around for sale that I could maybe pick up this weekend?

I'm having a look on there right now. I also noticed that my battery cradle or something like that is cracked and the battery can move around a little bit.

Hello. I have some questions about my alternator on my 98ws6. I think it's bad due to my lights pulsing really bad during normal driving. I can turn the parking lights off and still see my radio lights pulse a good bit. I just replaced the battery so I'm assuming that the alternator is not the culprit.

 

My other question is that I had my power steering pump changed about 2 months ago. The jack hole who put it back on forgot to hook back up the hoses and when he told me to start the car, fluid went everywhere. Could this have fried my alternator? I know that it's on the bottom of the car and it probably gets wet from rain and stuff from the road, but I'm guessing this fluid could kill it?

 

I'm taking a look at it now and the area where the hoses hook into the rack and pinion look moist but I don't see any dripping or any real fluid down there (ie. I don't think my new pump is leaking). Am I safe in putting another alternator on there right now?

Well I've got a cat-back on there that isn't an SLP loudmouth but it has a resonator on there and it's horribly raspy with my Kookhs LTs (1 7/8). I need to get a different cat-back on there. Does anyone have any for sale?

Well not sure if I am going to yet. Just trying to see if anyone knows of a shop that would help with this or is able to give some honest advice without taking my money and running with it.
