Yea, unfortunately you are very limited on what you can fit in the corvette, especially if you are tall like me and want the seat as far back as it can go, where the space is very narrow. yes the caravaggios seats are VERY expensive, nearly $3k new for a pair with all the hardware, every now and then you can find a used set for $1500-$2k... I have been looking at Sparco EVO2+, Sparco Chrono Sport (but these are not FIA approved), and Kirkey intermediate road race, or if I can find a pair (they dont sell them anymore) Sparco Roadster (what the caravaggio shells were made from).
  2. No detailed pics of the seats yet, I will take some later. Not sure i want to keep them, I think I want fixed back seats, for FIA approval. BUT these torinos are super comfortable, and very supportive... though actually HEAVIER than the stock c5z seats! Idle is smooth as can be, very easy to drive in traffic, based on 1 day on the road. Though, I had a vengence VRX5 camshaft before, so I am used to a lopey cam in daily driving...

  6. Decided to paint the intake...   7. Now to upgrade stock rocker arms with the COMP cam trunion kit... This time had 0.080" on intake side... good to go!   9. PTV.... well here is where things are getting interesting... First the process. I bought some pottery clay (sort of like modeling clay) because it seemed less sticky and more compliant. I put a thin layer of oil on the piston also to keep it from sticking. I first made a complete round ~0.2" thick piece, mounted it, and sat the head on, to get the outline of the combustion chamber. Using some solid (welded hydos) lifters from Kevin, and the checker pushrod at zero lash, I then spun the motor around a few times. Ideally the minimum is 0.080" The exhaust was over 0.125" so not worried on that side... (yes i used a solid lifter for test)

So over the winter, I decided it was time to say bye bye to the tired LS6 that has served me well, and do some upgrades, here is the spec sheet: -LS3 short block from new 2011 camaro (bought from SLP Performance) -TrickFlow 235 heads, milled 0.040" (11.68:1 CR) w/ powdered metal valve guides and custom exhaust valve sizing for my app. + some anti-detonation work to chambers (compliments of Mr. Brian Tooley) -Platinum valve springs -stock rockers with COMP trunion upgrade kit -FAST102 intake (port matched by B. Tooley) -LGM G6X3 cam -LGM Pro long tube headers (no cats) - stock Ti exhaust -LS7 lifters (after deciding CTS-VR lifters (aka "caddy racing lifters") were not for me) -Melling 10296 high pressure/high volume oil pump -Katech C5R timing chain -ATI super damper (917278 - 10%/10% underdrive) -McLeod RST twin disk clutch -Tick master/slave + remote bleed -Vararam Intake -Vararam Power Duct -LS2 90mm throttle body, with 90mm ring on intake - hand polished ID Other add-ons include: MGW short shifter, CCW classics (see my repair thread in the wheel/tire forum for restoration project on those), Sparco Torino seats. parts... http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c318/Juicedh22/zo6ftw/2011-11-13_15-26-49_416.jpg out with the old, in with the new...   16. I agree, in road racing, you are not always above 100 MPH like you are at nascar (assuming not under yellow)... not to mention tire width, no place to "run off", etc....

  18. Single bolt end on ls3, but I also have sprocket and bolt. However if going in gen 3 motor the cam position sensor is moved.
  19. I have an ls3 cam, which has nearly identical intake lobes as the ls6, and exhaust lobes nearly the same as ls2.
