  1. I'm thinking of an all white color or I might mix it up and paint it white then paint the hood and the steelies a semigloss black. its up for debate right now
  2. yes. its got dumps right off the exhuast manifolds. thanks man
  3. Progress: day 1-3 I ordered some jewelers rouge to shine up the stainless steel grill along w/ the hoods over the headlights. So i took the grill and the hoods off so that i'll be able to work on them immediately when the polish comes in. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0774.jpg I also started on cleaning up the engine bay by first getting the easiest stuff done first. I removed the Air intake canister from top of the carb and also removed the valve covers along with some other things and began so sand down and paint. I chose semi-gloss black b/c it looks very good under the hood and i didn't want bright colors. I'm also going to be painting the engine cast iron grey/silver. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0772.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0781-1.jpg

  5. 1963 amc rambler 660 classic just some info about the car if anybody didn't see my thread in the passing lane. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68602 This car was bought in 1963 by the original owner to race specifically at the drag strip in the E-stock class. It has been a dragstrip car its whole life other then the occasional cruising around. I'm going to try and get it back in shape like how it was in its glory days. the car runs very well it will just need Exterior body work (rust removal, metal patchwork, some dents, paint job) Interior the seats need redone and new carpet in. the dash and everything else looks and works great! Under the hood sand and repaint all the engine parts possibly rebuild engine (port/polish) upgrade cam, intake.carb First off i'll be updating this thread daily/weekly to show the progress i've been making. for comparison shots, here are some picture of it before i touched it. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0733.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0746.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0735.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0750.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0737.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0777.jpg
  6. yea, we're gonna deal w/ the rust on the back end here in the next few weeks, cuttin it out and welding pieces in. and since i'm pretty confident in my body/sanding/prep work I'm sure the progress should go quickly

  8. winner although the pic u posted is of a 1965 and mine is a 1963. They did some dif. body trim on the two for example this is 1963-64 body trim vs urs http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/64770rambler.jpg anywho, This car is a: 1963 AMC rambler 660 classic 2door hardtop. 327 v8 (ordered this as an option from the factory. Thes cars came in either a 6cyl or a smaller v8) 3speed auto (also ordered from factory so that he could run more consistant times at track) 4:11 gear (ordered from factory) amx front suspension (from factory) coilsprings (ordered instead of the standard leafsprings) some other ordered parts from the factory that were not usually on the car but he wanted on the car for racing are: power steering 6pc dash delete plates. 1pc doors w/ no reinforcement bars on the inside (to lower weight at track) My buddy put a carter external electronic fuel pump on it also in the engine bay so thats a plus as well. I'll try and find more of the race documents for this car but it surely has a big history of dragstrip racing back in the 60-70's in the E-stock class. Car was dyno'd way back at about 355hp compared to the stock 270hp. And the car weighs in at around 2800 lbs. So in the next few weeks i'll be giving it some loving care sanding, patching some of the rust up on the body and hopefully get a primer coat on it asap. I'm soo glad to come across such a cool and rare classic car esp. with the racing history behind it. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. It's not a real looker right now but give me a couple weeks and i'll have it looking solid. Look for a thread in the project section today probably of of the progress i've already been making on this car since this weekend http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0746.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0750.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0733.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0734.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0740.jpg
  9. = fun show Whenever I use to find nests like this back in the day or if i'd find tent worms up in our trees, Id carefully cut the limb off if it was in reach and set it out in middle of yard and torch it.
  10. truth. if ur gonna be dumb and cheat then ur ass better be watching all ur goods esp. cars. I have no remorse for him. But, if she was just some psycho bitch that just got broken up w/ then she deserves to be in a dumpster somewhere.
  11. Well a good friend of mine decided to get rid of one of his project cars (the car runs) so that He can focus on just one. Well he gave me a deal that No man in they're right mind would refuse. Reps and a pat on the back will go out to anybody who can guess this car I just bought. The 2 interior shots basically give away the car if you have any knowledge or older cars. Here's a couple shots. I'll post up more pics once the car is figured out along w/ some background on it and specs. Oh, and i'm the 3rd owner of this car and it was originally bought from the factory and for drag racing in E-stock back in the 60's. The original owner specifically ordered certain things on the car for track racing. He raced this for over 20yrs. It'll need some work but i'll have it squared away in no time. Now off to sneak shots http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0741.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0742.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj288/Dubs740/DSC_0747.jpg

Anyways, Does anybody know where the thermostat is located on these engines and what would be the best way to take it off and replace? I'm not familiar at all with these cars and I have no doubt that I could take it off I just need to know where its at and what would be the best way to take it off. Thanks in Advance guys.
