Ok so yeah the guys at the shop said it shot a rod out the front of engine

Never done an engine swap and always wanted too...DUE TO THE ECONOMy.... I think now is the time to start.

So any junkyards you recommend for a good engine? How hard is it to replace?

Ok...so I was crusing down 270 going 80mph tonight heading to work when all of a sudden my engine kinda missed and then about 5 miles after that it stalled and started smoking as I pulled over. I lifted up the hood and there was a huge hole in the radiator.It was shooting fluid all over the engine so I stopped it, from leaking fluid all over the engine. I tried starting it again and it started smoking from engine and shaking really bad.

Any ideas?

Looking to have my 88 jeep wrangler 4.2 6cyl either rebuilt or replaced?

What's the cost difference in replacing or rebuilding?

Would it be worth my while to have it converted over to the 4.0 6cyl fuel injected rather than carb?

Never paid to have an engine replaced or rebuilt so it's all new territory. Plus I've always wanted a jeep wrangler and I just snagged a hell of a deal so kinda of a project car as well, so it's worth the investment.

Recommendations for a good quality mechanic to do the work?

Wow.....what a night. I just watched a drunk driver in front of my house Try to drive while his pittman arm was broken. He drove back and forth for 10 min until the cops finally got here. He backed into my car twice and then forward into a tree and then he sped up towards my neighbors house and clipped her front patio and took off the railing. After that he proceeded to drive back and forth through her flower beds.

Crazy F&^*&^in NIght! You'll definately see my car on tv. Channel 4,6, and 10 were out here tonight.
