  1. Hello,

Here is the deal, it has 223,000 miles, I was pulling out on to the highway when the trans made a "pop" noise, like when a manual trans pops out of gear, then had no forward or reverse. Now, it makes a faint whining noise, it was running great, thinking it's the pump or converter.

Any guesses, or known issues like this? And where to have the pcm flashed, for when I put a used trans in?

    Thanks.

  2. Got it!!! I got to thinking, if the injectors are firing, I can smell gas, then the pcm is being triggered to fire them, then it's a ground issue. By reading 99's reply, I remembered, there are 2 grounding wires on the front timing cover. Go to my 2nd job, where the car is, pop the hood, moving the harness out of the way, grab the wires, bam both are loose as a goose, and corroded! Probably when I put the motor in a couple of years ago, and didn't tighten them down. Opps, MFer!

    Thanks Again!!!

  3. Well, I was driving to work the other day, and it just died, would restart then die, now pretty much just turns over, it did stumble some whiling driving before dieing, No codes, which I thought was odd. I replaced the crank sensor with a local parts store sensor, with no change.

I'm assuming I should have 12v to the coils with the key on, and that should be the red wire, correct? Not sure what else it could be. I will double check for spark, with a spark tester, I pulled a coil and plug, seemed like some times it had spark, then other time no spark, could be a grounding issue with my method. I do have an other nissan I could steal the cam and crank sensors out of, but I hate to do that, since that one is running good.

Could it be the vehicle speed sensor?

    Thanks.

  4. Well, I have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 QC, with a tick over 100k, with rust issues, lower ball joints, wheel bearings, and cv shaft issues. But has never failed to start. I see alot of 09+ trucks with rust issues, ford chevy dodge, they all do, to me seems worse then the 70s and 80s.

I need something that gets good fuel mileage and has a truck bed.

  5. Trying to re-flare a factory brake line on a 03 Dodge Ram, not having any luck!!!

Does anyone know of a good brake line flare kit? I'm using the one from advance, or is it just the factory lines are just hard to do. Would it just be easier to flare the parts store line?

    Thanks.
