  1. Interesting point I was hearing from a dealership:

On the new side, dealers are looking to get and push out whatever allocation they can get from the OEMs, whether it's got chips or not, start/stop or doesn't, console wireless phone disabled, AFM disabled they're going to sell it. Dealer makes $$$$$

When the OEM provides a list of vehicles they've sold that don't have chips that now they DO have the chips/components for, the owners bring cars back for warranty work. Dealer makes $$

The PROBLEM for the industry is going to be downstream, when used-car dealers are getting these things from normie owners or auctions where the Monroney (window sticker) says "Wireless Phone Charging" and there's a dead space under the console. Does a used buyer find out that wireless charging doesn't work and go back to the used dealer? Is there a lawsuit they can file with GM? Can some dum-dum go after Vroom/Carvana/CarMax for warranty work?

That'll be an interesting result of this supply-chain issue...

Chevy came to us and said they would give us 500 off per truck for the loss of heated seats, the came back and said just kidding you can have $50 and just bring the trucks back in after 2022Q2 and we will install the missing module. I get it but F them for flipping options on and off to fit their needs and preorders be damned.

I also love seeing Ford's in the system that the build date and warranty start date are 6mo from each other... We had/have 100s that spent time in fields.

The other thing we see is a ton of warranty issues on new trucks, absolutely through the roof. Even a bunch of stupid stuff like Laramies showing up with 1 black mirror and 1 white mirror.

Personally, I dont think oems will artificially throttle production ever. what I think you'll see a lot more of in 2022 is dealers flexing on new prices on orders. As oems push for build to order and prioritize it and as capacity rises to match it. Dealers will look to bank as many confirmed orders as they can.

  2. I haven't been there this year to check but there is usually a place selling good trees at Karric Place on Franz Road between Tuttle and Hayden Run. It's not a farm, but a pop up tree seller. We got our tree there last year - the selection was way better than lowes and HD and our tree lasted a long time.
2nd this place, it's owned by Oakland or Straders I forget which. We or my parents have been going here for 30+ years. always a great selection, I think they are around 45-50$ this year (on normal sizes idk about larger) and normally have heights up to 14-15ft

  3. I bought our current one FSBO. historically the biggest problem with them is the ego of the seller mixed with emotions, without 2 realtors in the middle to cool things down. We drew up a standard purchase contract, both signed and from there PM Title handled the rest(have done a number of purchases/sales with them) they are a little more expensive than some others but I've gotten used to the level of service.
  4. anyone know someone thats a plumber or plumbing side work. looking to tie in a basement shower to the main system approx 6ft, plus a vent. permit is in my name and concrete is broken up and ready to go. a company saw I lived in Powell and quoted a laughable $1200+ for what's an hour maybe 2 of work.

Also, anyone happen to know anyone in drywall? I used to have a guy but cant find his info for the life of me. It's about 1300sq ft of basement so figure that will help speed me along.

    thanks guys

  5. Does make it a lil harder to try and sell a car (even a cheap one) when limited details and no pics.... just saying. lol
haha I understand, but when he said to me "what do I do now?" I said I know some mechanically inclined folks...

I figure someone can probably fix it for a few hundred bucks and a Saturday and make it a college/ high school car or have a comfy dd.

  6. my little brother has a 2009 Volvo s80, water pump just went out on it and of course the dealer wants some stupid amount to fix it. 230k on it and ran well before this. body has some dents but thought it might be in someone's wheelhouse here?

    $1500?

he bought a new car so looking to cut it loose soon.

    thanks

  7. I'd say it's probably more of rip to theatres vs Hollywood. Trolls 2 was the first to do the covid straight to digital thing and they made more money in 3 weeks than the first one did in it's first 4 months in theatres. I think all the blockbuster movies will still kill it digitally.

  9. Not in your budget but just in case it helps anyone, my company is currently getting rid of our John Deere UTV fleet. They are 2017 or 2018 gas or diesels, 4 seaters, 4x4 dump beds, roofs with optional cab and heater kits and even tracks, plows, salt spreaders as options. Sub 1000 hours and are about 22k new plus options (max out about 35k). I normally unload them for about $10k a piece.
