  1. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed in this revival.

Back in May/June they wanted $20 deposits to reserve a space. The deposit was for a specific class entry. I selected 10.00 to 10.99. for both South Georgia and Orlando events.

So today they sent out an email to pay the rest of the fee for South Georgia … but they changed to an 1/8 mile format. WTF a bait and switch!

If this heads to Columbus stay home.

  2. Russ, what is that new motor combo? Or is that the one you had done just before you moved south?

Mamo Motorsports 265 LS7 top end replacing my mamo AFR 205 top end on the same ERL 427 block. It's in Medina at Backstreet so I haven't raced it yet.

This is most of what's new

  3. I raced at both Pinks All Out at Norwalk. The first was in 2008. So for a 10 year anniversary I'm entered in All Out Live At South Georgia in October and At Orlando in December. The thing I've noticed is it may be live but not on any major network. Actually some very minor ones so I hope they make enough to go forward with this.
  4. I'll take 3 months of cold nastiness over living in the godamn hell hole of the South any day of the week.

Only work in Atlanta which I can agree to to some extent, but I live in Melbourne Beach Fl, 900 yard to east the ocean, 900 yards west to the Indian River. That's paradise my friend. lol

  5. Well yeah there are a few benefits having headed south. Like the tracks are open already. ... well and it was between 70 and 73 degrees at race time at South Georgia Motorsports Park.

  6. ...and I like Ryans reason for not increasing Pell Grants (which Obama is incorrectly saying Ryans budgets cut.)

Ryan want to hold the current level of Pell grants. His "cuts" are aimed at the universities to stop tuition and other cost increases. By forcing universities to be more accountable and to lower costs ... the existing Pell grant dollars would be able to help more students.

Now thats the way to solve a problem ... not to just toss more dollars at it.

  7. I hope Ryan's stance on medicare doesn't cost Romney Florida. That would pretty much seal up an Obama victory.

How when...Obama is already cutting Medicare.

Last week, a new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report updated the amount of money Obamacare robs out of Medicare from $500 billion to a whopping $716 billion between 2013 and 2022.

According to the CBO, the payment cuts in Medicare include:

•A $260 billion payment cut for hospital services.

•A $39 billion payment cut for skilled nursing services.

•A $17 billion payment cut for hospice services.

•A $66 billion payment cut for home health services.

•A $33 billion payment cut for all other services.

•A $156 billion cut in payment rates in Medicare Advantage (MA); $156 billion is before considering interactions with other provisions. The House Ways and Means Committee was able to include interactions with other provisions, estimating the cuts to MA to be even higher, coming in at $308 billion.

•$56 billion in cuts for disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments.* DSH payments go to hospitals that serve a large number of low-income patients.

•$114 billion in other provisions pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP* (does not include coverage-related provisions).

  8. The good thing was I got three PB 60 fts today. I had my converter rebuilt and the stall changed from 3200 to 3600 when my tranny went back to Rossler this winter. 1.54, 1.55, 1.57 ... so that looks like a good move.

I ran 11.33 120.58 and 11.387 120.10 leaving off idle and without doing my typical weight reduction.

Pissed me off that I couldn't use my new skinnies and barely got the rear wheels to clear my shocks by using a spacer. Weld Racing RT-S perfect backspace isn't so perfect. I haven't run with my heavy ass stock front wheels in years. Probably lost a tenth right there.

  9. We could set up a qualifying round and then go ladder style with whoever is in. I say it's open to whoever actually drives their vehicle there. Not for trailer queens.

Yeah that's not going to work for me since I'm coming up to pick up both the car and the trailer. lol

...and by the way the reason it's frowned on by the track is that they have to get different (more expensive) insurance for competitions. The insurance is paid out of the rental fee they get.

  10. Yea, looking for true chrome

    Mine are real.

    Here's the story

After 3 years the chrome on my OEM wheels, that the dealer had had done, began peeling inside. That company the dealer used was in the Cleveland area but had gone out of business so I couldn't get them done under warranty... it was a crap job of chroming anyway.

So looking around I couldn't find anyone to do them locally. The black chrome I had seen locally were powder coated but didn't even come close to having the depth and reflectiveness of real chrome so that wasn't going to happen.

Finally I found a shop, Fast Forward Wheels, in Cali that not only refurbished chrome wheels but had a black chrome wheel process. Fast Forward stripped off the old chrome then applied copper, nickel and then the new chrome. To give it the black chrome effect they then applied a liquid formulation that they developed that is baked on.

Basically I can use car polish on them to clean and wax just like the cars paint. Brake dust just washes off. They still look perfect after 5 years.

I had an extra set that didn't get refinished so here's the difference between the old chrome and new black chrome.

  11. We sublet black chrome to my brother's company in Mentor, OH. Jaime had his wheels done there. We pick up and delivery weekly.

    http://www.onwardcoatings.net

"Onward’s combination of powder coating and physical vapor deposition will separate our clients from the rising costs and environmental problems facing traditional plating."

"Onward Coatings is a company which can apply a durable, chrome look finish"

So that's not really chrome...just a power coating.

  12. I just saw an interview with a friend of Zimmerman who is black. This guy said Zimmerman and his wife tutor minority children, black included, on their own time without asking to be paid. This guy's known Zimmerman for 6 years and said Zimmerman is definitely not a racist. ... the picture of what really went down is starting to change drastically.
  13. well' date=' the ultimate issue is that [b']there was some kind of scuffle that took place and there was a gun that was discharged and now there's a gunman dead[/b]. so the issue is whether the ultimate issue is, was it self-defense in this case? that's what all the evidence will pull, hopefully it will lead a jury to discover.

Interesting if true. Never even thought that the gun might have been the kids.

The other thing I heard today is that Martin goes to school in Miami and was only in Sanford (250 miles away) because he had been suspended from school.

...so maybe not such an innocent kid as the media wants to portray?

Damn media twists everything that they can to try to divide the country. Zimmerman looks guilty as hell ... but why wasn't he arrested ... there's more to this than whats been told.

  14. Yeah but he just placed two carrier battle groups off the coast of Iran and 100 military "advisers" to central Africa last week. So pulling out of Iraq means little in the long run other than Washington is worried we're about to get spread too thin to protect the guys that were still there.
  15. Awesome work!

And Backstreet is probably the best little known LS shop in the country. If people only knew the cars that Eric has tuned....

    Ran 11.218 @ 119.96 1.589 today off idle... there's a lot more in her.

Rich and Eric don't get the PR they deserve. Seems like every time a car they do that gets national attention ... the fact that Backstreet did the work always seems to get left out of the article.
