  1. Crap! I check into CR several times a week. CR is my kind of people. Thanks Anthony for getting the ball rolling and anyone who worked on the site since.

I won't know it but I'm sure I'll run into you guys at track rentals or car shows around town. Take it easy.

    Facebook is the devil.

  2. Your dad's car is just silly. We talked with him for awhile about it and the motor that you got from him :) 600+ cubes is just nuts.

Yeah it’s quite a story. I don’t figure there are too many 20k mile one owner ’71 cudas out there. Much less where the owner installs an 800 horse pump gas Hemi to go racing with his son. I’m rebuilding the trans in my hemi car now. Hopefully Dad and I will bring them both to the summer/fall track day.

  3. I had a good time. I really liked watching the fastest cars, good show. NTR is OK, but nothing beats the old days at Norwalk.

I think I'm near the 60' mark here:

  4. Anytime Im at the track and see a car rip mid 11's or faster you can visibly tell its moving fast. I think its funny that so many street classified cars think against having a roll cage. You can tell they won't progressively be going faster each year and are write offs , not serious about the sport.

Why is the cage such an issue. 90% of the time you see my car on the street, which is weekly in the summer, there is a 2 year old and a 5 year old in the back. Who in the hell puts a cage in their family car?

(BTW, next year there will be a 3 year old and a 6 year old in the back seat)

  5. I have been watching your car run at the cr track days for years, an I have to say your car is one of the most fun to watch. It gets busy! And your not afraid to actually hot lap. That thing!

Thanks Paul. I baby it at the track. At home, joy rides are usually followed by donuts until I'm afraid the fuzz is on the way. You own and race the silver SRT4, right? If so, you are the king of hot lapping! I remember D42 two years ago.

Jim, my Dad was disappointed when he didn't see the 'cuda.

  6. Thanks for the compliments. It is too loud, it sometimes draws unwanted attention. I may address that this winter.

I watched your GT run several times. Were you loosing traction at mid track? That thing sounded radical, like it was coming on boost and spinning the tires midtrack.

  7. The price is right.

I had high expectations for a set of jeep rims that I had WM coat in black. They looked great except the back side had flaws from the oven racks and cardboard used to rest the wheels on while they cool.

To their credit, they described the "shortcommings" of their process and offered to fix the minor backside finish problems.

For best results, clearly communicate your expectations.

  8. 10.85@133.73, I never expected to run in the tens yesterday. I knew the air was great and the mph would be up, but never expected to have the traction for a ten second ride.

The traction yesterday was on the level with Norwalk. My best 60' yesterday was 1.61. I was riding on 3+ year old M/T DRs 275/45-17. The last time I went that fast on these tires was the last track day we held at Norwalk. My tires were new that day, Sept 28, 2007! Hell, on 8" slicks at Columbus I only managed at 1.60. Dragway 42 is my favorite.

I ran 11.16@131.74 with my Dad riding shotgun. That was the only time I got bitched at:)

  9. Hi guys,

I would like to rent slicks for use at D42 this Saturday. I would pay $50 for 5 passes and no John Force style burnouts, I promise.

I can only use the following (nothing else will fit):

15x8 welds, 5.5 bs with 26x8-15 Slicks, screwed with tubes

I would also consider buying them, if they are for sale. BTW, I need them ASAP to double check fit.

    Thanks

  10. The wheels on my wife’s jeep are starting to look rough. The clear coat is breaking down and allowing oxidation to occur on the machined finished. We are considering powder coating the wheels black. Can anyone recommend a shop for this service? Or maybe someone can suggest something better than powdercoating. Thanks for any help.
