I advise everyone I know to fresh install windows every year or two. If you can, partition off a space for docs, pics, vids(ie porn) and ISO/EXE backups, and a seperate partition just for windows. Makes life a little easier, when windows takes a shit. Which it will. Cause it sucks.

If your Xbox is the DMZ you shouldn't have to port forward anything. Just make sure you set a static IP for the Xbox so it doesn't get a different IP address later. Yes there are many Xbox approved routers and most are listed on the Xbox website.
