  1. I've had a C5Z for 8 years as my fun car and never put many miles on it (3k per year). It's not the most comfortable car and C5's in general have a lot of small issues that pop up from time to time so you have to know your car pretty well. As I made plans to upgrade it I realized soon that parts are very expensive for vettes. I thoroughly enjoyed the car and it was certainly fast but most of the time I just putted around and it was a compromise. Sold it about a month ago and picked up a 2014 Focus ST.

     

    I now daily the Focus with Stage 3 mods and it isn't nearly as fast as the Z06 but I find myself having more fun with it. Maybe it's because it is new to me, maybe it is because I'm putting more miles on it and driving it everywhere, or maybe it is because it is more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow. I had several reasons why this was a good decision for me which likely don't apply to your own situation but that is my input on two of the cars you listed.

  2. I know this isn’t what you asked for and I don’t have many details yet but I have a friend in Lancaster area looking to sell an RX8. Car is red, manual, clean daily driver.   3. I sold my Ford Fusion a month ago but still have my winter tires so posting here for sale. Factory steel 17” Fusion SE 2010 wheels with beauty covers and TPMS sensors. General Articmax winter tires 215/55-17, used two seasons and about 15k miles.   4. Are we still able to buy a spot day of for a little extra? I see it in the original post but a lot has transpired since then so just confirming. I have another rental on Saturday but may come over to get some practice runs in before that one and support CR.
  5. Magnaflow "Magnapack" exhaust for C5. 2 tips instead of the normal 4 on C5s. Requires welding for install, I currently have it set up to slip over long tube headers but I will also give you the front cat section it used to be welded to. This exhaust is loud, deep, burbles on decel, and does drone at 70ish mph. $200 local pickup only in Findlay Ohio.
  6. Aluminum LS2 trailblazer SS block with forged Eagle rotating assembly.

    58x reluctor wheel (Lingenfelter makes a 24x/58x communion box)

    CR is 10.6 with 64cc heads (has -12cc valve reliefs)

    Build had about 10k on it whiped a cam lobe and the previous owner replaced it with a stock LS2 and sold the trailblazer. I bought the short block to put into my C5Z but have decided to likely sell it too. Sitting on an engine stand and can be inspected. No ridge on the cylinder walls and can still see the cross hatching.

  7. Saturday, October 15th another group I race with is doing a drag strip rental at Milan Michigan. I doubt there is any interest here due to the distance but thought I'd throw it out in case. Cost is $60 per spot to race, $10 each to spectate. I believe the hours are 10a-2p. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll send you all the details, they have 35 spots still open as of this writing and I'm just trying to help them fill them.

    I did have to make some mods to it in order to make it fit the way I wanted and up until now I've only hauled 2 full size and 2 youth bikes with it. They also have a model for smaller receivers.

  9. It's good to know how many spots are open. I've got a couple non-members coming but didn't go any further so everyone had a fair chance at the spots. With so many left open though, I just asked some more guys to come out. I can probably get word out to the Toledo Tuners group to see if any of them want to make the trek all the way to trails, if that's cool.
  10. In my younger days, I could have been one of those idiots on YouTube, and it's up there with some of the biggest adrenaline rushes I've ever had. After visiting California and seeing it a lot from the cage perspective, it really unnerves me. They have the right roads for it with an extra quarter lane by the HOV lane and it is still close, plus cars are not supposed to enter and exit the HOV lane except in certain spots.

    I would probably support it for selfish reasons but I don't think most riders are capable of doing it safely.

  11. I have a Nordic Track elliptical with iFit training card I'd let go for $250. It's model is an audio strider 800. I used it a lot when we first got it and really liked it because it's more of a long (running) stride vs most elliptical machines. Comes with level 1 and 2 cards that were $40 each.
  12. The most important thing in any interview is to have relaxed conversation type answers while keeping them technically correct and not saying any red flags.

     

    1. The right answer is the honest one but work on how you spin it so it's very positive, employers know the rehearsed answers just like interviewees do. If I interview someone with all canned answers I throw them out thinking their real story must be so bad they don't want me to know.

     

    2. Before the interview, research the job and company. Write out 10-15 questions about these and make sure you cross them out if they volunteer the answer during the process. When they ask if you have any questions, you don't have to think and you will likely write down the response on a sheet filled with info. Good questions will focus on long term viability of the position and company showing an interest in long term employment.

  13. If you reconsider moving it yourself, I suggest removing the door and moving it in two pieces. I've moved mine which is close in weight, three times by myself like this using an appliance cart. I get help getting the door on and off but once that's done it was very manageable for one person.
