  1. Cincinnati did not step up to the plate. Did they have an actual shot at beating Florida? No, but I think that they could have at least made it a closer game. There were too many distractions leading up to this game. Now, I'm not trying to make excuse for how they played, because they played terribly, but you have to admit, there was a lot on their plate. They lost their head coach in a terribly timed way, their interim coach accepted a head coaching job not a week after Kelly left and cold care less about how the Sugar Bowl ended up, and their new head coach couldn't step in until next season. They definitely were not prepared at all for this game. Again, I'm not saying they would have won, but I was hoping for more of a fight.

Plus, when Tebow decides to play like Tebow again.... you can't really stop him. Over 500 total yards? Really?

And do you really think OSU or any other team would have actually had a better chance of beating them? I think almost anyone they played would have lost, minus one or two teams.

  2. Why take the death of someone you dont know so personally that you search google and post a multiple paragraph response??? He was still at the beginning of his life and not everyone on this planet learns things the easy way.

Turning his life a round means in the process.... To be able to turn your life around you have to have made mistakes in the past. No one is saying he was a saint, they are saying its a shame he died before he got a chance to grow and become a better person. I take offense to your post for the sheer fact that you put all that time an energy into being negative (which you would think I should be used to since half the board does it). Yes the dude blew a chance that many would dream of. Yes he made dumb mistakes.. Its all over now.

    RIP

By far the best post in this thread. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Ochocinco said he's wearing Henry's Jersey #15 Sunday, and he doesn't care how much Goodell fines him. Goodell will show he is a complete FAG if he fines him. The only thug in the NFL right now is Roger Goodell. It's clear to me Chris's teammates liked him, that's pretty clear to me, Palmer was said to be pretty close to him. Everyone has done shit in the past that was dumb, myself included, I've been yanked out of a car at gun point by officers. I'm pretty responsible now. Chris was growing up and had a family, if you have no empathy for his kids at the very least, you have no soul. This goes for anyone you hear that has died before their time, sports star or average Joe.

Agreed. There are some things that you make an acception for and this is a big one. Especially when you think about how close Chad and Chris were.

  3. They are still the only team to have won 6 superbowls...

    -Marc

Agreed. Yes, 6 Super Bowls is a big deal. I'm not taking anything away from that, but using the past to cover up the present doesn't help when you've lost to the Browns (2-11) and the Chiefs (3-10).

  4. LOL no, but i can see how you can read it that way Will

Figured it would be cool to get at least a couple meets planned between here and columbus next spring/winter

Haha I didn't think so but I wasn't sure. I was like "I'm pretty sure his car's still here in Cincy because Andy talked about working on it"

Well we tried to get one together last year but no one from Cincy really showed up so I think we'll have to travel up north this year for "cruises". It would be cool to try and get some sort of Cincy vs Cbus day at a track sometime, or even at an SCCA event.

  5. WTF ? Both are great locations that are close but I have to disagree. More like outside of Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, California, a good chunk of Canada, and even Vermont. :)

Still awesome compared to flat-ass Ohio though.IMHO 7springs is the shit just due to the short drive time, even if Snowshoe is much more a 'resort' setup. The upside down lodging is pretty awesome too. We rented a condo right at the top, and walked out the back sliding glass door and right onto a nice blue cruiser. Good shit.

Ok, let me rephrase. This side of the Mississippi (US states only)

  6. At least he's not T.O.

    Yes. I agree 100%.

I think he's great. Sure he's not the best receiver in the league but he's doing a lot better than he did last year. He's always fun to watch and if you follow him on twitter you realize just how good of a guy he is. Every Monday he goes down to Miami to see his family and he buys lunch for whoever decides to come meet him on South Beach. He sincerely loves the game and loves being able to bring fun to a game that every takes so seriously.

  7. A lot of really well-informed people have had Kelly done to ND since before Weis was even officially fired. His responses when asked about the job even in very public situations wouldn't be very reassuring if I were a Cincy fan.

I guess we'll all find out this week and I'm sure something will get leaked tomorrow after the meeting.

I only see 2 scenarios playing out in the ND job

Stoops to ND and Kelly to Oklahoma

    or

    Kelly to ND

looks like it's going to be option #2

I haven't heard anything about Kelly to Oklahoma. Sure it's likely it could happen within the next few years but doubtful for next year.

  8. Hmm let's look at it this way

    Monetary Support- ND>UC

    Facilities- ND>UC

    Recruiting Base- ND>UC

    National Attention- ND>UC

    Prestige- ND>UC

If ND offers, I think Kelly takes it.

I know all the facts. I'm just hoping he stays. I'd hate for him to turn his back on a city that desperately wants him here. If he had just come out and said that he is taking the job, I'd feel differently but all this dodging the questions and making everyone wait is worse. I appreciate honesty and hate that we've had to deal with weeks and weeks of speculation.

  9. If you are talking about the 1 second on the clock review, it was 100% the right call.

No that was a legit call. I'm just surprised that Texas actually ran a play with 8 seconds left to go.... But there were a bunch of flags that were thrown for Texas throughout the game though.

  10. Easy to make guarantees when there's no chance of it happening eh? So the Big East is tougher than the MWC because each conference had 3 teams finish in the top 25? Do you read what you write?

Touche. I didn't realize BYU was in the MWC. But I still stand by the fact that UC would beat TCU. TCU will crush Boise too.

Edit: Let me clarify that I'm not knocking TCU. They are a very good, tough team and deserve to be in the same talk that we are. I just think that we are the better team and played a tougher schedule than they did.

  11. Why does Cincy "deserve" the shot against Florida? I think TCU is the best of the unbeatens not in the title game. Maybe better than those in the title game. They're a truly complete team (top 10 offense, top 10 defense) and won by 4 TD's on average. Cincy has no defense to speak of and their offense has one speed. TCU killed the two top 25 teams they faced by a combined score of 93-35. Cincy beat the two top 25 teams they faced by a combined 4 points.

Let me guess, you're one of those OSU fans I hate

The Big East conference is a lot tougher than whatever conference TCU plays in. We have 3 teams finishing in the top 25(UC, Pitt, WV). UCONN got a tough break when they lost Jasper but was still a tough team. TCU crushed nobody teams all year long. Woo. BYwho? And Utah? Seriously?

I guarantee UC would beat TCU if we played each other.

  12. Agreed. What'll be even more interesting is if Alabama loses and Cincinnati POUNDS Florida, would we end up with a co-champion situation where Cincinnati is AP #1? It's possible! Ask Oklahoma.

I think TCU will win over Boise, and it's going to be a fantastic match up on the national stage. It's not going to do anything for their respective national standings, but the climate this year hasn't exactly produced any better match ups. I mean, what else could we have gotten? TCU vs Cincinnati, Boise vs Florida, Iowa vs GT is about the only other way I would pick it, and TCU vs. Cincinnati doesn't do anything for either team's respective national standing, the big winner would be Boise with a shot at Florida. Give that to Cincinnati, they deserve it.

Agreed. While I think we would have a better chance of beating TCU or Boise it wouldn't do anything for the Big East. This is the best case scenario I think. I mean TCU could argue that they deserve a shot at Florida/NCG but we have played more ranked and tougher teams than the have.

You have to admit, this was a special year for college football all around. A lot of great games (ie Saturday. That might have been the most amazing games I've seen played in the same day, ever), a lot of upsets, a lot of records were broken and 5 teams ending up with perfect seasons. There haven't been many NCG that had both teams being 13-0.

And I'll be rooting for the Bucks during the Rose Bowl. I may hate most of your annoying fans but they're still an Ohio team. Gotta show support for anything coming out of Ohio (mins the Browns....). Stop/slow down Masoli and you'll win.

I'm pumped, I think the warm weather will be perfect for pike to have a big day. I just want them to utilize pead effectively. I thought he wasnt used enough during the pitt game for how well he played.

Agreed. Pead is a beast. I want to hear the "You got Pead on!" chant at least 10 teams on New Year's day. And I've been saying this since Collaros first played in the USF game: WE NEED TO USE PIKE/COLLAROS LIKE FLORIDA USED TEBOW/LEAK!! What a better time to use it than against the team that won a National Champ with it!

  13. If Cinci beats Florida and Alabama POUNDS Texas it'll basically be a case builder on who should have been playing in the NCG. I don't think it'll end up like this, but oh how interesting if it does...

I mean, we were 1 second away from being there this year... and that Texas game was horribly officiated.... but that's a whole other discussion. Bama is going to destroy Texas, they looked horrible against Nebraska. But if both Cincy AND TCU win, then there will really be discussion about 1) who should have played in the NCG and 2) who should finish as the outright #2 in the country as well as why there isn't a playoff system.

  14. I'm not saying that we will beat Florida, it's going to be extremely tough. We would have to play like we did in the 4th quarter of the Pitt game, the entire game, and then some.... just to make it close. I have faith though, I know they'll be motivated to finally have a shot at proving themselves. As long as they hang with the Gators, I'll be happy.
