Yes, I was just looking for a local builder that is competent in the building of a very modified mod motor.
-
Complete rebuild...Forged bottom end, upgraded heads basically everything...I have already purchased new headers, a new blower, different intake that hasn't arrived yet...I also planning on running a meth kit (AIS) based in Columbus....I also have a 2600-2800 converter already purchased...Trying to build a beast...I also already have a set of Livernois grind cams for the engine.
-
I was just wonderng if there is any shops in the Columbus area that are good at building Mod motors...I have an '02 L that needs a rebuild.
-
Larry Russell, Jr won his class, JDM Eng. Super Stang...That puts Larry really close to winning the season championship in his class...Congratulations on your consistency Larry...Crewsy
-
Mike, sounds like you have the red beast ready to go now...Naturally, this 90+ degree air is all we need...Yes on the Killer Chiller for sure.
-
Nice numbers...Mine let loose on a pull with stock heads and 16.5 boost at 17 degrees timing at 432/499...I am having ported heads and better cams done now so it kind of lets me see where I could possible be when it is completed.
-
The way they are shipping jobs out of the country who the hell is going to be able to afford the over priced hybrid that is going to be mandated to meet the 35 mpg goal...America's first screw up was when we joined the global market...Then we elected Bush, who is still putting 70,000 barrels in the strategic reserve when it is 97% full...This oil could be sent to the refineries and might help a bit.
-
OK Anthony, riceboy it is for awhile then.
-
Hey Anthony how did I end up with the handle riceboy...I would prefer rice-eater or something like that...I do love to eat rice.
-
Thanks Anthony, I would love to come up and see how some of you guys are running and hopefully get to meet some people.
-
I am a new member and the track day was sold out before I had a chance to do anything....I was just wondering if it OK to come a spectate the event and how much will it cost me if I would be allowed...Crewsy
-
If you don't mind your car being a truck a '99-'00 Lightning might be a thought...They handle as well as most cars and have a hell of a big trunk.
-
You can usually find some L's on ebay, but some of them might be a long way off...Any Lightning that won't spin the tires has some serious problems...I have a buddy that has a bone stock '99 and it definitely goes up in smoke when he wants it to, which seems frequently...I can't afford to do that with mine.
-
The new ones haven't totally grown on me yet, but I am sure that they are still great cars...Saw a comparison in Motor Trend with the STI against the EVO...Not sure who won, but they were very compromanable to each other.
-
OK Ben...By the way like the STI a lot...Great cars.
-
Thanks Ben....Dull stuff, but I wouldn't change a lot I guess...I already like this forum, nice to get to talk to some guys that at least I have a chance of meeting sometime.

I think someone is trying to tell me I need to do another intro...My name is Dave and I live in Zanesville...I am retired at this point in my life...I worked at Central Ohio Coal Co. for most of my working life getting to run some equipment with some serious HP...I used to be an avid golfer, until I woke up one morning, went to play and decided I suck now...Bought the Lightning that I have now and spend a lot of time dreaming up what I can do to make it better...I have decided that having more money that I currently have would make that a lot easier...I am also trying to design a workout program that I don't need to leave the recliner for in the winter, the mirror tells me I have a little way to go on that one...I had a lot of neat toys when I was younger: 57 Chevy, 64 GTO, 66 GTO, 65 Sport Fury, 69 Z28, that one hurts that I still don't have it, 69 427 Corvette, 79 L82 Corvette, Firebird Formula, 70 Pro Street Camaro, and now I have a, as my nephew puts it, a f**cking truck...That pretty well brings us up to date in the dull, but I must add extremelly unproductive life of Crewsy...But Much More than that he did it his way!!
-
Shawn, you know how nasty those tailpipe turbos are nasty, not, I have been seeing Roger's car out and about a little lately...I don't know about Craig's car...I heard rumors about a lsx, but not really sure...My nephew has a 03 Cobra, but unfortunately it is sitting on jackstands and he is trying to figure out what to do about l little lower end problem that has developed...Kind of ironic he always talked about the indestructable bottom ends on the Cobra 4.6's...Anyway, he says all I have is a friggin' truck...Ah, so young and so dumb...Good luck with the big hair dryer this year.
-
Thanks Vince....The fairgrounds show is always a good time and they shut Rt. 60 down and have one on the square every year...The Cruise In they have at Denny's every Fri. is a pretty nice time normally, gives you a chance to talk to other car lovers...Looking forward to talking to you in person sometime.
-
Can't really say that I do Vince...I have lived in Zanesville for about 8 years...Lived in McConnelsville for most of my life...I had a Formula Firebird, LT1 car, and a 70 Camaro with a big ole 671 sticking out of the hood of it when I moved to Ztown, Jarret's over in White Cottage did the paint on the Camaro...I finally grew up and ended up with a truck.
-
Thanks trowa, glad to be here...Nice to have a more local forum to post on also...I am a member of NLOC so I spend a lot of time over with the other Ligntning guys that are stuck with these addictive money pits...Oh well, you can't take it with you.
-
Hey SVT imagine meeting you here...Randy was using SCT software on his computer...Naturally, I have a Predator, why wouldn't I...Good talking to you again...Mike's wife called today and they are going to mail me some graphs and other paperwork, maybe by then I will figure out how to post it.
-
Thanks, Not Brian....I think I am going to enjoy the site seem like a bunch of good guys like all us old motorheads are...Again, thanks for the welcome.
-
Really enjoyed the experience Mike and have posted my results over on NLOC...The guys seem pretty impressed with the numbers for a stock block with an Eaton.
-
Sorry, the only pictures I have are some that my nephew took and emailed to me and I never even thought about video last night...I was just psyched watching them work on the truck and trying to pick their brains a little.
