  1. 84 z28 vortec superchaged car made it out of the trailer today.. put a new shifter cable in the car, for some reason 1st was park, and park was first?? i have no idea- so we tore down the transmission... later that day- rolled car in trailer- and went home.
  2. Well.. I wish i could have posted up a new PB time, but here goes my great week story of all the headaches...

I first entered just one car, my 1984 z-28 vortech 275 tire car, and a friend of mines jr dragster, well turned out that they (with the jr dragster) didnt want to go, so i was stuck with two tickets, which was ok, so i could take my 2001 ss camaro as well.

So lets start with the 2001 Camaro SS- I needed rear tires for the car, so i was going to buy some at the Ford Weekend down at trails directly off of M/T, well there price of 538 dollars was not bad, but they looked at my wheels- and said they didnt want to mess them up, so i passed on buying them. Later that same day- i bought a set off a guy in the swap meet area, 350 dollars (brand new!) So i was really excited, i called Jegs- canceled my order, and took off to one of the two stores that were near by Jegs who could install the wheels. Well- i took it to firestone, i showed them my car, and i got (no problem, can do it!) So i was pumped... 3 hours later- they finally get my tires on the wheels/wheels on car. After hearing 3 guys all upset and basically banging my rims around (budnick wheels), i thought this wouldnt be pretty.. Yup- all nicked up, scratched up. So i told them, look these were not like this- took them down to wheel medic tuesday, and firestone paid the bill of 275.00.. ya..

So back to the 1984 z-28.

I was in full hopes of getting the car out to the track today, knowing its been a year- been sitting in my inclosed trailer- and knowing that the brakes just were not up to par. So we started with replacing front lines.. Then wilwood master cyl, after bleeding 3 times- no good.. still no brakes.. Then we replaced the front hoses, no good.. then the calipers, finally! They were the problem.. ya after spending 300, i finally got it to stop- I took the car out on the street, shifted 1, 2, 3?? Third poped into neutral.. ya who knows... There was an adjustment that needed to be done on the shifter, and we tryed it again, but just wasnt going so well- (by this time it was 2:00- and only 3 hours left of track rental that i had spent 65 dollars on)

So by this time, im thinking, ya know what- im just going to take my 01 ss down, at least make a couple passes, and call it a day.. So i tell my buddy to hop in, and we will go down to the track with my one car that is ready.. I started to pull out of the driveway (in the grass) and there was a little hump in the yard.. ya.. Those brand new 305/35/18 tires that i thought had no problem, just had a problem.. I cut the tread part of the tire up, to a point where it will not hurt the tire, but just looks horrible..

I ended up going down to the track at 4:00 today, drove the car, and did not even want to hit the track, probably just guessing that with my new mt's i probably would have dropped the t-56 out the back end, and just would have added more of a mess to the day...

    Had a bad day..

My Personal best at Ntr last year:

    2001 ss camaro (stock bottom end) 2.42 60'/ 12.40@ 127

    1984 z-28 left 2000rpm, first time out, lifted twice- 161 60'/11.24@126

  3. Ill do what ever kind of race. My car runs great in the 8th suprisingly ill have to pull some time slips. The car last time out trapped 114 but dam I had traction issues(it picked up 4.5 mpg from the last track outing)

Gonna. Pik up sone drag radials tomorrow so it'll be fun

I totally understand what your talking about, tires are key! I just picked up some m/t that are new, and im kinda excited to see if it will hook up..

  4. you know if you post more info some of us might go...

My bad.. Just kinda figured people would know about it, being around columbus, and also being a car show for 10+ years?

Its an all day event really, alot of cars to see- usually around 1000-1200 cars, even though the last 2 years it has dropped some in car count- still close to 1000 cars.. Some advice- if you want to get a good spot on the square- (not off in some alley) you will have to get at the show around 6-8 in the morning.. Im usually there around 6..

  5. Its funny how the slow people (meaning that in the small bus way and piece of shit car way) always have something to say. New rule... dont address me in a call out thread unless you have a car that I dont have a chance of beating in reverse with 4 flat tires.

Ill race you in reverse lol

  6. Thanks Ray. Nice to be back.

Been driving it allot today. Feels pretty strong. The adjustable front springs really give nice weight transfer when you get on it. Front end comes up really nicely. I think I want to raise the front up about 1/2". Its pretty low. I know part of that is the 15" rims though too. Rearend whines a little. Gotta get Brandon to take a look at that, and give me suggestions on how to get a slim chambered muffler of some kind inline between the headers and the over axle. The way the exhaust in done, thats going to be the best place I think. It doesn't need quieted down a whole lot, but just a little. I think an aftermarket intake and 92 mm throttle body would really wake it up even more too.

Looks like a nice NX NO2 setup with purge kit. Never had NO2 before, so thats something I have to decide whether to keep or not. I'm sure it adds a nice boost. :)

IPS did a cool trick for the shift light. The center cooling duct in the dash has the shift light hidden inside. When the vents are closed you dont see it come on, but open the vent and you see it nicely. Didn't even know it was there until I was messing with the vents today.

Cool car! I was told about this car a week ago.. and was also told how much they had in it

  7. Someone know- what all consists of the classes ran for the friday night king of columbus. Do they have 275 drag radial class? I cant remember what exactly they run- havent been to one for 2 years.. They are probably alot faster than my car- but i might run it just for the fun of it..
  8. Much more better :D

Well.. I signed up my buddy with the jr dragster- and now they are going to be out of town that day.. Stupid ADRL.. lol (even though its sweet) Formulized- is it ok if i bring out another car to replace his? Ive already paid for it, so i figured this would be ok- just wanted to get with you first. - thanks -AJ

  9. usually there is a 10.5" tire mustang that runs 7s and ricart.

Ya- i didnt really know- just looked like a bunch of street cars, and i didnt want my buddy to come out with his slingshot injected dragster- and their not be any compound laid down till like 5. ya know what im saying?

But ya- it should be a good time! I used to have a s-10 like yours- sold it a few years back.. HOpe to see ya out at the track.

  10. C6 TT build has been done. The kits are less expensive the car is cheaper anyone can and many have built C6 cars into really nice cars. But, most people can't build the C6Z because they can't afford to. My build has not been done yet, and no magazine really cares about another C6 build. I want a car that people will know and that is interesting to the magazines so I can actually get it in one. I also would love to be able to set a record or two if it is possible. Right now Lingenfelter has the C6Z HP record with 1300 FLYWHEEL Hp. Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to say that you hold or held the HP record? Standing mile on the C6Z is 226MHP. That is yet another goal to go after.

Waste of a car? Well you may think so, but unless your 1970 Camaro SS is completely origional numbers matching with no modifications, many people would say that is a waste. I personally think everyone has their own taste and likes what they like. I thinnk the 1970 Camaro is an awesome car and actually thought about dropping my other LS7 into one, but what a waste of a car that would be right?

Your starting off with a highend expensive car- that has plenty to offer, but i dont see the reason in dumping 30+ or more into a car thats already starting at 70+.. I mean- more props to ya- and if u want to be the baddest around, thats cool as well, just remember- theres always something out there thats faster.. lol.

For my camaro- no its not a numbers match car (motor is a 396/360hp 68chevelle) but on the other hand- i also dont have 75+ into it.. To each his own, your corvette is sick- but i cant see throwing away money that i know i would never get it back out of if i decided to sell it.. (thats where my little 22-25k 70 camaro is nice- only having 12k in it.. lol.

Best of luck to ya though- neat car- and i wouldnt think it would be a waste to drop a ls7 in a 70 camaro- if u had reasonable money to where you can get it at least back.. Im probably different then most- i cant just throw my money at things, and not make money.. But there are those out there that dump the huge amounts of money into cars- and then when they decide to sell them, and loose there butts-- thats when i buy.. Just past 4 months ago- bought a procharged 01 ss camaro m6 with 28k miles.. Owner bought Car when with 19k miles- was 21k then, and all reciets he had- rounded to about 23k.. So in the end- the guy injoyed the car for less the 10k miles- had just shy of 50k (prices i gave u didnt include budnik wheels and wilwood brakes) and i bought it for 21k.. not bad.. lol. Let me know when your tired of the vette.. lol (kidding)
