  1. Hey guys, I haven't been on in a long time. I parted out my Turbo'd 2004 Tiburon, and these are the remaining parts. All items have a Craigslist post and pics are all there. However, if anyone has a problem with that, I'm happy to post them here or take more pics if needed. I will try to keep this post updated as things are sold.

You can also get a hold of me at chadgrooms@gmail.com or 614-517-2056. Thanks for taking a look!

  2. Would you ship the helmet to 46131?

Well, I'd like to sell these items locally/cash because Paypal takes a cut, shipping materials cost, and shipping is a bitch to deal with due to first shift. However, I think $20 or so should offset everything, so I could do $70 shipped. Let me know if that works for you and I can send you my paypal info.

    sending pm

    Ok, thanks.

saw the car sitting out the other day, you live off waggoner just north of havens corner? if so, it looks good man...

have you considered selling it as a whole instead of trying to part it out?

Actually no, that car is a lame clone of mine. Up close it's a disaster. Some kid with an i4 pushing maybe 110 at the wheels. Ironically, I do live right off of waggoner, but I'm in a neighborhood near Meijer.

Hyundais (Tiburons specifically) are known for their horrible resale value and I've seen too many amazing boosted tibs sit for a year or more at 50% or less what they should be sold for. I'm fine with keeping the car as it is. It's a fine DD.

  3. Due to purely financial reasons, I am parting out. I'm in the blacklick area and available after 5:30 during the week, and any time on the weekends. Most of the stuff is off the car, and I'm working on the rest over the next 2 days or so.

    Here's what I have that's universal...

    AEM UEGO - $150

Glowshift Volt Gauge (Tinted 7 Series) - $20

Glowshift Oil Pressure Gauge (Tinted 7 Series) - $20

I also have a complete turbo system and several other Tiburon-specific items, but I'm not going to bother listing them all, since I'm one of about 3 in the city that mods these things. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

  4. Anyone else going? Sucks that the closest we'll ever get to it is a theater, but I guess it's better than watching a shitty cam on Youtube.

EDIT: I guess I should mention for those of you that don't know what it is -- A live showing of the Anthrax/Megadeth/Slayer/Metallica concert from Bulgaria. NOT COMING TO THE US!

  5. :finger: I never talked shit on it. It's either gonna be really cool or a big disaster...either way it will be entertaining.

EDIT: Though I did call out the organizer on why they picked such a laughable name. No response.

  6. I've heard alot of argument on how catch cans/pvc breathers should work concering vaccum, etc. After some serious thread debates, I went with a catch can that still runs under vaccuum. My plumbing still goes back into the intake but only after going through a catch can on the cool side of the car. This way I still have proper vacuum but with no oil in the intake and less fumes.

Agreed. I started with my catch can inline/under vacuum and then I switched to a vented catch can. The catch can filled very slowly under vacuum (about 5-6 months before I bothered emptying it), but when I vented the can I ended up with a full can of mostly water-based gunk after about 2 months, which I can only assume is due to water vapor from the can being vented.

  7. I was thinking of checking out the QSL meet and then going from there. It's on my way to any other meet for the most part, anyway. That meet supposedly starts as 7pm, though. I won't be anywhere until at least 9, probably.

I'm probably going as long as it isn't downpouring, now that you called me out on it.

  8. It's always when you're gonna step out for a just a minute for something that's supposed to be quick and easy. A quick time-killer and it turns into something huge and complicated. I've been guilty of this, as well. Hell, that's how I get half my shit done. By fooling myself into it. lol

So true. I convince myself a project will only cost so much and will only take "a couple hours" or a day at the most. ...A week later I am driving the wife's car, she's pissed, I'm burning through money for supplies and tools, and I just broke something that cost more than the part I am replacing. Rinse and repeat.

  9. ^ It's got a lot of really nice features and is super easy to use, and with Facebook integration it's less of a headache to talk people into signing up. I'm sure it would be just fine for CC&C. Also, I personally like sites like meetup because it keeps amateurs from making "web pages" resembling pre-y2k Angelfire/Tripod disasters.

Eh, at least these kids are trying to get something going. I can't even get the motivation to get a meet set up with my friends.

  10. Meh, I don't prefer handing asses to people. It's just a hobby that happened to include this car, and it's fun to drive as it's quick, but also great for my long commutes as the fuel mileage is excellent.

What a great read and build. Thanks for documenting!

Funny, from my experience the least cocky people in the scene are usually the ones doing the most.

  11. Bob and Tom will be gone within "the next few weeks," according to the announcement today.

I still can't stand the same tired song rotation, but the Blitz format is infinitely better than that spandex-laced Rock format. The whole town-hall/voting/announcement process was actually really cool to watch unfold. I think they are on their way to getting back in my presets.

Still can't beat Dave & Jimmy though. Damn I love that show.
