  1. Nice-Just want to point out a few things-

    1) The turbo pictured is a standard 30r- not a billet wheel, unless you are referring to one of PTE's new models you will be putting on the car.

    2) Why did you decide to go with a DSM Bolt on turbine? That housing is a bit more restrictive than your standard T3.

    3) If possible (I know it looks tight) you will pick up some good power if you use a divorced waste gate dump-or merge it further down and not at such a sever angle.

Im not knocking you-new product development is always great-just giving some pointers.

    1) I didn't see the turbo out of the car. but percision did state what I got was their new t31 series with gt30 power but faster spool due to their new billet comp. wheel. Dave confirmed that, that is what they sent sooooo.......

I guess I am not 100% sure that it had the wheel. but Dejon confirmed it did.

2)I believe this was done due to the lack of room and dave had all the dsm flanges on hand.

    3) looking into going external gate down the road.

    thanks for the input!!!!:D

  2. thanks to all those who like my car. 24-25lbs of boost was more of a spike. we were limited to the factory maps. (23psi). so I was seeing some overboost codes and the car does 370 on 22-23psi. the car will be back at brians in about 2 weeks with map clamps pure meth running 7 gal/hr at 100 psi. looking for 27psi with no knock. the car will also have 3in downpipe with no cats and cutout. the stock exhaust is on the car, even the stock exhaust manifold. an adapter was made to bolt the turbo to the stock manifold.

Brian and myself did learn a lot with the car and the turbo size. its = to a gt3076r but should spool better because it has a new billet wheel from precision. here are some pics

Dave at http://www.dejonpowerhouse.com did all the work. go to the site my car is a superstar lmao.

  3. ^you are correct

260 ft lbs is what I was thinking.

got your pm on cobaltss. my car is running strong now. got 1100 on her. the car is doing 240hp and 260ft lbs at the wheels stock according to most. I have not put mine on the dyno yet but the new susp. and brembo up front make a world of diff. our race will be close. I'm powder coating my wheels black. welcome to the madness

  4. blow off valve control solenoid. the harmonics of the engine vibrate it enough to open it enough to let the vacuum from the accumulator (there is not one on the Sky thats why they don't have this problem) they had to add the accumulator because of some kind of surge while driving and then this problem showed up. its an easy fix by adjusting the bracket its mounted to, GM just wants to make sure there is nothing in the solenoid.

thanks for all your hard work AJ. I hope he oked some straight time for you because I am sure the valve don't pay shit.

  5. I'm sure I'm not the first (judging by the thoughts of some people with DSM's, and a few others in the Sol/Sky forums) and I'm sure I won't be the last. No offence, but people like him because he makes parts for cars that most other aftermarket companies ignore, or because they don't know much about cars. I don't know anyone that's knowledgeable about engines that would ever buy his stuff.

Again, the BSR tune for the SIDI turbos are the exception and possibly the new intercooler he has out...but each of those mods are $1000 each. I will never spend $1000 for a tune, and $1000 for an intercooler is outrageous.

Swapping the turbo out for a crappy 20G doesn't make sense to me. Yeah, it's larger than stock, but I'd rather stick with something ball-bearing with really quick spool. You're not going to be able to run the RPM's to make use of a larger turbo (at the moment). A GT2871 or GT30 would be a much better choice...and you'd be able to re-use most (if not all) the stock turbo water and oil lines.

HPTuners will do very little at the moment. Westers Garage seems to have the 'best' tune for these cars right now.

Good luck with your car. I'm not sure what the hesitation could be...I haven't heard of anyone with that problem. The main Sol/Sky problems were with clams that weren't tight enough causing boost leaks. Keep me updated, I'd be interested to hear what the issue is.

Good luck with the car. The one I drove in March '07 was impressive. It's definitely a performance bargin and fun to drive.

I have hptuners for all my tunning. I will get with you about my mods. thanks for the heads up! :)

  6. Well "Hahn's" tune is the BSR tune (developed by BSR in Sweden...they do stuff for Saab's and made a tune for the Opel GT, which translates to the Sol, Sky, HHR, Cobalt...) Everything else he makes is crap, with possible exception to 2.0L SIDI intercooler, IMPO. After seeing his other stuff at SEMA up close I'm convinced it's Hahn ftl.

    What's wrong with the car?

not a fan of hahn.... your the first. anyway the car has what feels like a hesitation under full boost. the car is diff holding back. no dtc or anything. they compared it to another one and there is deff. a major diff. in power. were waiting on a call from gm about what steps should be taken first in diag. don't want to just start throwing parts at it.

  7. i made your car slower because you couldn't wait for the black one to show up one day late :p ok not really, no word from GM yet on why your car has sucked so much at its short life already.

no prob. is the car over in the body shop. (ps. tell ron to pick up his phone!)

  8. Welcome. Nice car, I like the new SS's.

From the comments above it sounds like you're going to buy everything Hahn Racecraft puts out :nono:

your right! hahn racecraft ftw. their tune on the car and just a catback did 285/307 and went 13.2 their first time out with the car.

  9. Because the first day everyone thought I didnt own my car so I had to become a dick to most of them. Tell them what I had and they wish they had. Im one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. That would be your answer.

fair enough. have you shown you TT Vette to members in person

  10. I like the wheels. Not a red fan, but overall am a fan of some boost. That's the direct injection turbo motor in that one right? I'll race ya....I'm pretty much stock and play with my nieghbors Saturn Redline...s/c one. Would be a good comparison and likely a close race. My best is 13.8 but depends on the launch.

yes it is direct injection. what do you drive?
