I got a ticket for this recently being parked at a meter down in the arena district. I think it was for $80. Normally I toss it up on the dash but since then I haven't even kept it in the car. I should probably find it again...

I finally saw another hardtop mk2 MR2 in town. Unfortunately to was looking fairly rusted on the rear trunk lid and other areas. At least I know another one exists.

I defanetly couldn't find anything in good condition for sale around here. Everyone selling had cars that had been in accidents and needed a lot of work to get up to the level I wanted. It was just easier to fly down to Florida. I also have a Toyota FJ that I flew down to North Carolina to buy as I couldn't get exactly what I wanted up here.

Yeah, I signed up there before I bought the car. I was going to come to the latest meet but it was the weekend after I drove back from Florida and I wasn't really in the mood to do much driving that weekend. Same username over on mr2oc.com.

Yeah, Orlando to Columbus with a stop in Wilmington, NC. About 20 hours on the road. Not really meant to be a long trip vehicle but we did just fine.

It was pretty nice of them. I told them what I was trying to do and they said "sounds great, here's $30k". The downside due to internal policy I can't sell them the car for the project so I might end up selling this one.

So I just bought a 91 N/A Toyota MR2 and my neighbor mentioned that I should join up on the site. He didn't tell me his name on here so maybe, eventually I'll figure that out. I just flew down to Florida to buy the car about three weeks ago. I had been hunting for a hardtop mk2 MR2 to be used in a particular project I was planning. I wanted the hardtop for my height, lighter weight and extra frame support. I finally found one that was in excellent shape in Florida. The previous owner was super anal about how he cleaned it, far more than I'd ever be. The MR2 was lowered about an inch, upgraded the struts to be 4-way adjustable, new lightweight rims, replaced the header, removed the cats and replaced the muffler. The guy had a crap tint job done on the side windows so I removed that as soon as I got home. I don't know how long I'll hold on to it as my work just agreed to fund my project, but they're not sure about the MR2 as the perfect car. I used to have a Mazda RX8 for a few years that was a blast to play with as well.
