  1. 12.87@109 as of last year. The car this year traps 114 but haven't been able to get a clean helty pass. Due to some tuning issues that I had last track day.The car will hit 12.50s next track day.

    That is pretty damn good for on the stock turbo.

  4. Yeah todd. The red gti takes on 1600 hp Jamie. I never said I had confidence in beating the cobalt. Ever. I helped him work on it. I've driven. I knew from day one my gti wouldn't keep up.

     

    Good to see a lis of accomplishments on you neonkiller. But there is a good reason why I went with the bIg vr6. In the end if I want to make more power I will have a much easier time doing It than u will. Sometimes its guys like you that make me want to keep it and build it just so u can go stfu. I hate the 1.8t crowd so much...

    Well no contest there. If I decided to do the fuel upgrades and reflash its very possible to achieve the same if not more power than the red gti on my setup. I'm trying to sell it though. Not really looking to dump any more money into it. I do give him a tip of the hat for his achievements. it is still impressive.

  7. I guess if I were racing a stock viper people would perceive this race differently? I've trapped 109 in my car on the same setup. His Cobalt is simply just very fast.

     

    It hooks up because of a very tall gear ratio, Cooper Zeon ZPT tires, and the turbine is only a .82 T3 so it doesn't spool up very quickly as to shock the tires. Its much more linear.

     

    I'd love to race your Neon btw. Runs what low 13's? Shouldn't be a problem for me or the Cobalt. ;)

     

    And uhhh yah I do know the power potential and also the power limits of the VR 12vs. I have an 8.5 spacer on it. Again its only at 10psi! If I keep it I will datalog with Vagcom and spray some alcohol at it. I haven't even began to stretch its legs yet. I'm just being careful bc I want to enjoy it for the first half of summer.

  9. Ya the Balt does not fuck around. The RS6 is still fast. Most drag times in stock forms are showing high 12s. I talked to the owner he said I really shouldve ran him in 2nd gear at 40. I was in 3rd so were running them again tomorrow... In Mexico. ;)
  10. Out for a spin in an Audi RS6. Went up against my buddie's modded 2006 Cobalt. His car is a freakin' train. We're going to need some work to beat this Cobalt in the van...

     

    For those that aren't familiar with a RS6, it's a twin turbocharged 4.2 V8 that pumps 450 HP from the factory. However, it's dismay is brought by 4,050lb curb weight.

  11. hey brian! glad you joined. good intro. now that its running again, get a good tune on it. not just the mail order. and guys the thing is pretty f'n quick. i did alot of the fab work on it and drove it. traction is a BIG issue. and he still has the stock cv shafts. so if he gets stickies for it you can kiss them by by. lol

     

    lol thanks bud. I'll be buying VAGcom from Rosstech soon. It's great for scanning DTCs and datalogging. I can download a sub-program that will let me alter timing and fuel tables. A nice "piggy back" system for under $220 I'll add.

     

    The general word on the drivetrain on these cars is 3rd gear and the factory ring gear is riveted to the carrier are the weak links. No probs because a dog box is over $2,000 and stock trannies are under $200 and pretty simple to swap.

     

    Got it running last week. Still getting used to the ACT 6 puck. Chattery.........
