If it's an Aero pump with all the stuff I'll take it.

I'd really like to see what these look like on the MR2....
Any trades? I've got staggered bronze 5zigen fn01rc's.
5Zigen FN01R-C wheels - Bronze
17x8 +35 with 215/40-17 Falken Azenis in front
18x9.5 +45 with 275/35-18 Falken Azenis in back

I never even considered one until the trade was presented to me for my old 91 4 banger auto mustang, but I picked up a 2000 Escort ZX2 a few weeks ago and I am shocked at how well the car has done. It's got 210k miles and I literally have gotten 32mpg on the first tank of gas with about 70/30 driving and on the second tank got 37mpg when I had to make a trip up to Dayton to pick up some tires and I did about 90/10 driving.
I'm already on 30x miles on this tank of gas and I've never been able to put more than 10 gallons of gas in the car when I see the gas light come on and go to fill up.
The ricer inside me actually enjoys driving the car daily too. Nice stereo with factory 6 disc in the trunk, 5 speed, sunroof, power everything and cruise all work. You can find these cars for like a dollar on craigslist it seems. It handles pretty decent, has enough power to get me around and isn't THAT ugly lol. I'm shocked at how every single thing on the car still works at 210k miles too.

Hoping to have the car back soon and all that is left to be done is the wiring. So far I know of one option, but he hasn't seen the car and is quite busy right now, so would like to keep my options open in case that doesn't work out.
To start, I do not have the time to do this and I don't do wiring anyway. I've done some very small scale wiring of gauges, etc in the past, but just don't have the time or know-how to wire up everything that needs to be done at this time.
Here is a list of things that will need wired:
-Finish up the battery relocation
-Electric water pump
-Contour electric fan to the ECU so the fan is controlled by the ECU (would also be sweet if this could be done with the water pump but have no idea if that's possible)
-AEM wideband ,autometer nexus oil and water gauges using the 6401 controller
-GM 1 Bar Map sensor into ECU
-AEM EPM into ECU
-LQ9 Coilpacks into ECU
I am using an AEM 30-1400 P&P ECU in the car.
I'd like to find someone who is neat and detailed. I'd like to find someone who is also good with researching / familiar with the AEM is I'd like it to be able to control several of these "extra"s similar to how the factory ECU did.
Let me know if you need any more info, pics, or whatever. Thanks.
If worse comes to worse, I've seriously considered having the car shipped down to Kurgan to have him wire up the car and to put a base tune on the car, but I'd like to keep it somewhat local if at all possible.

11;25- love how the dude in the far lane is pedaling it while hanging the fronts. You can just see the flames flying out of the exhaust, pretty cool
Same at 5:57 lol. Bad ass!
David Wolfe is a bad bad man.

Very cool build!
The only thing I would have changed is what was previously stated about leaving the HVAC system in the car. It is a Lexus after all
Why do you need that space behind the dash anyway?
-
I must say I am very dissappointed in the cobra's complete lack of driver mod.
Agreed.
-
Not bad. I really like the way those things look.
-
Looks to be in great shape! I'm going to assume NA, but I could be wrong? Any more details?
-
Ah I see now. That is pretty cool and would work well in some of the situations listed above. Would work great at the racetrack for swapping tires, etc.

Fo all of you that don't like them because they're not adjustable, can I ask why you need them to be adjustable? In all the times I've used jack stands I have only ever set them at one height. I can see if you are using them at different points on the car where you need one lower in order to keep the car level, but these are designed to be used at the factory jacking points, so that's not an issue.
Farkas - They look to be the same size around as a normal jack stand. Why do you think they'd get in the way?
These are honest questions, as I feel that the time saved by not having to climb under the car, try to set up the jack stand, slowly let it down, and hope nothing shifts is worth the price (if reasonable).
I hate working under my car so when I do have to, I get it as high in the air as my jack will allow. So to answer your question, I adjust my jack stands every single time I use them.
And I still don't even understand the concept. So you place this stand on top of your existing jack and there is a slot in the back so you can slide your jack out. Problem is, if you have enough room to get that jackstand under the car to the factory jack points, why do you even need a jack in the first place?

Does anyone else hate brackets as much as I do? That's cool you're into Y blocks, but when they turn 18's at the track, they should probably just be left for cruising...
Glad to see Mike get his new PB at 9.12 and his 160mph trap. Car rolls out. If he can find a way to build boost off the line, that's an 8 second car all day.

also Im testing with a few manufactures currently for an aluminum i/c tubing kit for people that want it. There are a million places that will do it, finding a place that does quality work, using 6061, correct wall thickness, etc is the hard part for most. Fortunatly I have good contacts and know where to get it done. So should have some initial parts within a 3-4 to start shipping. I could quickly slap together something but I dont work that way.
What's your pricing going to be like? Not to start anything again, but BG currently does have a coldside that can be bought seperately and I'd be curious about price. Full 3"?
I'm debating on building my own or just buying.
-
Just your typical On3 performance 8 second 5.0 car, this video was a 9.19. Short time after he was going 8.8x's
Congrats, those cars definitely roll out for sure. Not taking that away from you. Problem is, what about the standard $1500 kits that wear the on3 name? Of course lot's of people are going to have your kits, they're cheap lol. Hence why I asked how many will be at the NMRA this weekend racing with the big boys?
-
I don't know Chad, all I can go by are my personal experiences with his work. I'm sure he is a good dude.
How many true street cars will be at the NMRA event this saturday running an on3 kit??
-
Since you can afford to "play" come play with my beat up evo tonight for a few hundred. LEt me know when you want to come out I'm sure chad will want to get in on it to. He also has a beat up notch.
Reading isn't your strong suit is it? I said i'm in the process of building a car. It's just a hillbilly foxbody, nothing special.

Your PM's are full.
1991 Toyota MR2 originally a 5SFE
All power options besides power steering
NO ABS (I like this better than the cars that came with ABS)
Premium Audio package (stock sub removed, however has the 6 speaker system still installed), not working though, needs the hazard button, it's a fuse and controls the radio, turn signal, clock and none of those are working right now
TTops
Black interior, door panels are original blue pieces and look kinda crappy now because they were painted black
has cruise control but not hooked up
5 speed
Color is Gray
221k on the odometer
The goodies:
JDM 3SGTE with what seems to be very LOW mileage (I say this because the motor pulls very strong, feels a lot stronger than most MR2's I've been in for being close to stock. I pulled my roomates stock 97 C5 6 speed car by a good 5 cars from a dig) There is no oil residue ANYWHERE on the block, not one oil leak at all, temperature never fluctuates, no wetness ANYWHERE at all in the engine bay, completely dry, oil was changed the day I bought it, car was thoroughly inspected by myself and found to have no real issues anywhere (however it does have some minor issues, discussed below). Turbo spools almost instantly, and it is the Ceramics power JDM Ceramic CT 26 turbo.
The suspension seems to have been replaced with stock replacements, its very solid and does not make any clunking noises anywhere. Handles awesome
3" Downpipe
2.5" homemade exhaust into stock catback
HKS FCD
HKS intake
GReddy profec II turbo timer (I think thats what its called, lights up blue and the plastic housing is black)
Alpine MP3 etc etc. CD player
GReddy look alike SMIC
Powdercoated valve cover
ACT stage 2 clutch (pedal is really stiff, clutch grabs VERY good, and very streetable without the drag racing only feel to it)
There are more minor things that I'm probably forgetting
This car is daily driven. Absolute BLAST to drive.
The minor issues that tick me off:
Needs the steering wheel to be reset, somehow its crooked, but if let go on the highway car will steer straight, any alignment shop can do this.
Passenger side window switch only goes up, will not go down, don't know why, (I switch between window switches depending on which MR2 I feel like driving)
The paint.... the car's been painted 4 times.. each time a different color, its a 10 footer but there is a lot of overspray on some trim pieces, and some pieces of the car can use a good wetsand an buff. Passenger side rear lower rocker has rust.
Check engine light is on, code 52 (knock sensor is bad) however the motor does not knock one bit.
Maybe we could work out some kind of trade on the cars and turbo. I REALLY need that turbo lol.
-
Trade for a MR2 turbo lol?
-
Yes, the shop did. (Realtune performance). What motor is it going on? Supras have no issues flowing 950whp through .81 AR turbine's, so unless your shooting for 1000whp, or spraying your car, I dont think it would be a huge issue.
Gotta have the .96, it's going on a 358" windsor with a set of high ports.
-
EV1 or EV6?
-
As stated, I acquired this off trade. Although I have not ran it, I was there to see it run. Only hade a hand full of dyno passes and was determined to be to big for the Neon SRT it was on!
Race Bearing, NO shaft play. .81ar T4 hotside, Vband out. H cover compressor (4in, 3inch out) and big boy 76mm Compressor wheel. Rated at 1200hp with the H cover.
He bought it from PTE for $1380. It has a drive off the trailer and 10 or so dyno passes.
Asking $850+shipping Pictures coming tomorrow.
Did the Neon owner buy it new?
SUCKS that it has the .81 hotside. This is EXACTLY the turbo I'm looking for just in a .96 ar.
-
Thanks for the welcomes guys.
BTW..... Sell me the '95? lolThat would belong to my roomate. Not sure if he's on here or not but that's BKstang95 on most of the local cincy forums. Just a little 331 with a PT88.
is that a 4" or 3" core?It's 24x12x4.
Much better, welcome to CR and congrats on your MR2 purchase. I am a huge fan obviously. If you get a chance toss up a couple pics of the 2 or better yet it would be cool to see in person! It's my 3rd 91 turbo lol. I love these cars. I'm trying to avoid the camera with it right now, the paint looks decent from 10 feet away but is awful up close. It's originally an emerald pearl 91 NA, but has been painted at least 3 times and is now a Steel Mist Gray. I do know that it runs a lot better than my roomates 97 C5
I'll be up in C-bus this weekend for the NMRA event.

Posting from my iPhone now, I'll get some pics up when I get home. It's being built primarily for stracin but it might see the strip every now and then.

Just figured I'd dig around over here, I'm from Cincy and have a 93 mustang with a stock block, silver spray painted e7's and 3.27's .
This better?

Also picked up a 1991 MR2 for a daily driver over the weekend while I was up at the IFO event. It's my 3rd one and these are my absolute favorite cars to drive. JDM Gen II swapped and in need of paint haha.
