Dude I love my GTI. I'm a huge German fan though. I have an 2000 Audi A6 and was great. I'd suggest getting something fun, don't worry about manual unless its a huge deal. Its too hard to find a decent manual ride. My father has an 07 GS350 and its great, waiting for year to buy it. Im in a similar situation and am buying his car because of close to free, or buy something like A8L. Not a huge fan of manual because pain for everyday driving but love it in my GTI.

 

I'd suggest buying a great deal, because if you end up not liking it you can easily sell it.

BW and BW replicas are identical, just not the name. Did need to rotate the housing a bit for perfect fit. I had them checked out from a client company that makes massive turbos and compared all the specs and tested.

I have a 07 GTI and it's great. Look at the R32's, all wheel drive, fast, manual and some 4 doors. I have a daughter and she can easily get in and out of the 2dr GTI. Car seats are a pain I learned though.

They're not BW, not sure of the kind. Turbos were like 1200 and inlet piping kit was 300.

I also have my stock turbo's still. Car has 135k miles I believe K04's have like 3miles maybe

Been thinking about car pc (im a PC engineer). I can tell you pc beats iphone/tablets in every category. Also my pc boots faster than any tablet. SATA3 with SSD destroys anything in a tablet. laptop/pc's cold boot in under 5 seconds. Resume in less than .01 Also windows8 is very touch friendly, using now and is great.

 

Dumb question, can you get hd audio from a tablet? I know androids have HDMI but can with their integrated cpu/gpu can it output DTSHD/Dolby HD? I'd love to be able to run 7.1 in my car.

 

Also, I run my whole home with computers and media center. Nothings better than $6 a month for Time Warner cable card and having all 1000+ channels with unlimited DVR and 3 channel HD recording anywhere in the home. Also with Girder, or other Home Automation, you could easily open your garage door automatically when you hit wifi and close when you leave wifi. options are endless and no restrictions like with tablets

Hard to find nice manual cars these days. I'd go Audi, loved mine. Love my GTI also with the 2.0T great engine. If considering auto, think about A6 4.2 or lexus gs430

I hate ordering online. Not sure why just impatient I guess. For whatever reason, i'd rather wait a few more weeks until ironpony has another in stock..

btw, it's red with black leather. Fenders were just replaced which is why it looks black.

Only pic I have right now. I believe I spent around 2K in parts to fix it, then 1500 for turbos and 300 in control arms. I don't have time to really part it out or fix it.

So I've had this 2000 Audi A6 2.7T forever and its an amazing car. A few years ago it was in an accident and I replaced most parts and was able to drive the car for about 6 months until boost leak. Upgraded turbos to K04's and control arms. Still have boost issues and a few more minor issues, and need a bumper, hood and painted.

 

Its taken me a couple years to get it all setup and I've lost interest. Not sure if I should spend the time/money to finish, sell, or part it out. Any suggestions would be great

Need Motul 300 Gear oil for my VW GTI after replacing the clutch, master and slave cylinders, and transmission case. Only place I found is Iron Pony but they seem to only order 1 every few weeks. Have 2 and only need 1 more.
