  1. On my commute up and down Riverside Drive I see and hear a mean green Camaro. Is this car part of CR and if so what is done to this beast because it sounds incredible. Will try to get a rolling pic if I see it again.

It should carry the name "Incredible Hulk" or something.

    Really cool ride.

    Cheers

  2. Thanks for all the input. Will not need the service until later this year before winter so at that time I will call both John's Auto and Hatfeild and decide which is best for me. Leaning towards John's Auto since my experience with dealerships is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Try to let you know my experience after I get the service completed.

    Cheers.

  3. I know you say "NO Wagon" but have you seen the CTS-V Wagon..... It can do everything and it is WAY cool.

If you can not do a SUV or wagon then you force yourself to own two vehicles so suck it up and make payments on your new sedan and keep the truck.

  4. I work near MAG and only use them when necessary because I have had terrible experience when dealing with them for service. Rather not get into it but lets just say that now that my "free" maintainence is up I will travel to get GOOD service.

Have heard good things about Hatfield so I might give them a try. I would really like to find a good "non-dealer" to help promote local small business.

    Cheers

  5. Just looking for advice on the best location in or around Columbus(Northwest) that work specifically on Volkswagens.

My 2010 Jetta sportwagen TDI with DSG transmission is getting close to the 40K mark for a recommended service. Typically I like to do most services myself but the more I read about this transmission service I start to question my capability and tools required to do it "RIGHT".

    1) Has anyone around town done this service at home?

    2) What shop did you use here in Columbus and the approx. cost?

If this is in the wrong location please feel free to move it. Also did a search for this topic but did not find anything.

    Thanks in advance.

    Jason

  6. buy a modern car then. i've owned 4-5 foxes (lost count), and whenever i see an un-molested mint fox, a tear comes to my eye. i own a 52k mile '85 GT with t-tops. it will never have a chance of running with my vette--so why try??

i've got some plans for it this summer---none of them include adding more power. its a cruiser.

i'd kill for a clean, low mileage, un-molested '93 cobra. congrats on owning it for as long as you have. i sold my t-topped '87 GT 2 years ago, but had owned it since 1997. i had modded it to the point it was uncomfortable to drive, and couldn't run more than 13's

To each there own but for me the mods I have done to my 93 Cobra make it a fun car to drive.

You do not have to "kill" for clean very low miles Cobra. You just have to pay more than you are willing to spend. There are plenty of bone stock 93 cobras out there sitting in gargages waiting for someone like you.

Good luck and hope you get one someday for your collection.

  7. good looking cobra. tasteful mods. personally, i'd leave the NOS out of the car. buy a ragged out fox if you want to blast it with NOS.

welcome to the site, great intro

The NOS is only needed to when I need to keep up with the modern cars like yours..... ;)

  8. Bascially I try to do most everything with the Cobra but mostly it is nice day take it out for a spin ride. In the past I would do test and tune drag strip / occasional Auto-X events with OVR SCCA and lots of Ohio car shows as well.

    The Cobra basic mods include:

    Crower Cam

Full exhaust: Long tubes / H-pipe / Flowmaster with turn downs

    Motorsport C-springs

    Maximum Motorsport Panhard Bar

    Welded in sub frame connectors

Original set of Rims with summer tires

Black poweder coated set with Nitto NT01

NOS 150 dry system (Not yet tuned so just for show at this point)

Plus a some here and there little things....

    Dyno numbers (no NOS) = 273HP 300TQ

Owned since 1999 and I am the third owner.

    Current mileage is 48K

All in all the mods have been on the back burner once married as many of you can relate. Try to get as much done as you can before the wedding is my advice...

Hope this helps explain the Cobra. Any other questions welcome.

    Cheers

  9. Nice TDi!

Was i talking to you a few weeks back about it?

    mine

Man I love your Wagen it looks great. I just put on a Curt trailer hitch last night on mine and ready to do some light duty towing. (Basically to help in our move to Marysville)

Please tell me how you did the front fog install and what is approx cost to DIY this? I really want to add this to mine since I think it is silly that VW did not option this on the USA JSW.
