  1. You can't really tell by the website but there are a lot of twisties on this stretch of highway in the Ozark Mountains. I lived here for years and my family and my wife's family still lives here.

The end of this month and the week of the 4th I will be riding the highway.

    http://byways.org/explore/byways/2155/travel.html

Taking two days to ride down and two days to ride back. Looking forward to it!

If you happen to be in the area between 6/29 - 7/6 Hit me up we'll go for a cruise.

  2. do you have a battery tender connection? if so its no different than plugging a plug into a wall socket

Even if you don't, it would be about a 10 minute install if you know how to install a battery

Thanks for the suggestion I'll check it out. I don't currently have a battery tender connection but I think I can spare a few minutes to install a power plug! Thx bad

  3. Going to be taking a long road trip on my 650 V-star and thought I'd like to have an inverter put on so I can keep my phone/gps charged.

Any local business that sells/installs them? I will be hitting the road the 28th so I'm looking to get it done pretty quick.

    Thx

  4. IMHO I don't think jurors should be allowed to access information outside of the court room. I know that some juries or locked in due to it being a high media case. We are all individuals and respond to information differently.

I always find it laughable when an attorney says something they know is going to be objectionable and the Judge tells them to dis-regard what they just heard, seriously...is there a purge button in my mind that I am unaware of? Ah perhaps the Vulcan Mind Meld...

  5. Same thing happened to my dad.. Ended up with Quintuple bypass. All 4 majors and a minor. My grandma had quadruple bypass as well. Docs tell me its only a matter of time before I join the club due to family history.

Good luck and you'll be fine. And make sure to post pics of the teddy bear they give you after the surgery for you to hold tight if you have to cough. :) Yes Im serious.

Will Do. Teddy will be my new BFF! :D

  6. Hey all, send your prayers if you're a spiritual person and your thoughts if you're not to Bill (aka RiceBurner). He's in the hospital having a heart catheter today. I'm not sure of the details, but he went in for a stress test yesterday and they found something. He's been in the ER since. He's hoping they just have to put in a stent and be done. I know a lot of people from here have ridden with him and hung out, so I figured I'd post this up.

Thanks for mentioning me. I am scheduled to have a quadruple bypass done on 4/13. Bummer but I'm luck they say I have no heart damage and everything should be fine. I do have two blockages and they want to fix a couple more before they go fully blocked.

I appreciate the prayers, thoughts and well-wishes. I should be back up and riding by the end of May!

  7. I forgot the screen names of two of the members of team 8 but here are the ones I know:

    EvilTwin

    Looney

    Ziggy

One of our team members isn't a member on here... I know I know what a puss..umm kitty!;)

  8. Black and green cruiser was a Harley. The one with the Gator aide bottle and a petcock connection for the extra gas.

I guess I was in your group! Odd, I didn't think to ask anybody their screen name.

I had the old bike, red Kawasaki, spent most of my time in the back learning about riding in a group formation.

I never thought to ask what group # we were.

Anyway, I had a blast! Learned a lot about riding in a group. Learned a lot about Columbus roads too! :)

To bad I didn't make the party. Sounds like it was a good time too!

Ah well, there is always next year!

Believe it or not the the Black and Green crusier was a modified 650 V-Star! It looked great and I'm going to change my pipes to the Heiney brand he had on his. Sweet and nice sounding bike.

  9. Ran fantastically!

I don't think old Kawi's die, they just go faster!

Mine was running perfectly for the ride, no troubles at all.

Did I mention that the other day I found out, surprise! It does wheelies?!!:D

I think we were Team 8. I was with you guys and it was a good ride and time. Nice to get to meet new people and put names and faces together. I was on the Blue and Black V-Star (Bill).

    Guess we didn't win eh?

  10. this could be consider a little anal, but ive actually dropped in on a class and observed the training from the parking lot. i want to be thoroughly prepared. my class isnt until end of august. :o[/QUTE]

Kudos for signing up for the class. It never hurts. I took the Basic Rider Course last year and it was valuable. I am also taking the Adv Rider Course next weekend. I've heard good things about it has to be a value for $25.00 right?

  11. I was weary about it myself and I joined the basic one year for $24.00.

I did get the magazines, free rain suit (top & bottom) and it wasn't to cheaply made.

You have to join as a life member to actually get to test stuff and they are willing to credit my $24.00 fee towards the Life time membership.

They spread it out over a year if you like. I did get Quarterly gas refunds (up to $5.00 every three months) so that comes to $20.00 so it leaves a debt of $4.00 to join. Not too bad. I did get a call and told 'em if the mags keep coming then I would probably go Life Time.

There's my 2 cents or $4.00 dollars worth

Being the owner of a Yahama I did like the full article on the RaiderS before it was released to the public. The rider took it across the country and then wrote his review.

    :D

  12. Number of comments in the thread would have zero bearing on whether or not my last comment has any weight to it. It wouldn't even need to be explicitly stated in said thread.

The question "Do you believe in God?" is potentially immediately divisive and is also exclusionary of other deity based belief systems. Just asking that question could be support for my last comment in its self.

My disagreement is stemmed from that people usually do not reply, view or post to items that are not interesting, that's why I disagree with you.

So if person asks me do I believe in Red Widgets, you're saying that they are a bigot and intentionally excluding Blue or other color widgets?

I never used the term "weight" so I'm not sure where that came from.

  13. Hrm you resorted to going back to the initial statement, which you never really fully responded to completely, disregarding my last post in the process. You then proceed to basically attack the person instead of of responding to the discussion. Amazingly you also see me disagreeing as being fearful, would love to know the logic behind that one.

Doesn't sound like I'm the one getting all butthurt here.

Disagree all you want. I can appreciate the talent of "Can't convince them, confuse them."

I see you have some anal concerns; "butthurt" is that a real word? 8-)

    More Fear. Need a hug?

So because it's not interesting to you it's not interesting to anyone else. I am sorry I was unaware that you had been give the absolute interesting/not interesting power to speak for me, oh wait you don't

News flash: Any question is divisive for instance is Fusions opinion as important to me as it is to him? or Does Fusion possess the power of discerning what is interesting or not interesting?

I (my opinion) sense anger in your words and anger can be masked Fear. Do you fear agreeing with anything posted or does anger help you survive from day to day?

Yes I'm bored and I am trying to provoke ire from you. Is it working?

No hidden persecuton complex, I'm good :)

Just text on a white background that happens to be my 2 cents worth. Please just take it at face value..

Repectfully disagree on your last comment in the fact that when it was posted there was a lot of comments, it actually became a larger thread than I imagined.

  16. I'm not sure there's any logic behind this statement. Maybe I'm jsut reading it wrong.

Feel free to provide examples. You might want to be sure you're just not harboring some kind persecution of complex.

A poll like that isn't even interesting. At most it's usually a way for people to be divisive or to find a way to exercise some form of bigotry through identification and personal exclusion.
